A Kentucky native, Dr. Sean Music earned his DMD from the University of Louisville. He is married to his wife Emily and is a father to two young daughters, Meredith (4) and Lainey (1).As the father to a young family, Dr. Music understands the importance of servicing his patients in a non-corporate setting. He is passionate about providing the highest quality of dental care in a relaxed, friendly environment to the residents of Louisville, and will go the extra mile to see his patients leave the office happy.

Dr. Music enjoys practicing family dentistry, as well as providing advanced treatment to his patients. As a member of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, Dr. Music stays up to date on the latest dental implant procedures in an effort to provide the best options for his patients. Dr. Ashley Casconi is a Louisville native, who has practiced dentistry in the city since her graduation from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She is married to her husband John, with two precious children- Cameron and Jenna, and is an alumnus of Sacred Heart Academy.

Made out of plastic and ceramic, composite fillings can be created to match the natural color of your teeth and serve as a good solution for the following conditions: Worn teeth Chipped teeth Tooth decay Broken or cracked teeth

These type of fillings are a perfect choice if youd like to have a tooth repair that is essentially undetectable. When composite fillings are subjected to the pressure thats caused when chewing or biting, they hold up well.

For a number of years, amalgam (silver) fillings have been widely used when a tooth needs to be repaired. With the introduction of composite fillings, you now have an aesthetically pleasing alternative. While composite fillings arent as durable as their counterpart, they hold up well under normal use of your teeth. Also, they do cost a little more than an amalgam due to their ability to match the color of your own teeth, which should be taken into consideration. It will take longer to place a composite filling as the area needs to be completely clean and dry to ensure that the filling has a solid fit.

The next step in the procedure is to thoroughly clean the area where your filling will be placed. After placing the filling in your tooth, it will be shaped and polished. Youll be asked to bite down to make sure that there arent any bothersome rough edges. This restores it to a normal looking tooth that has optimal function and structure.

After your tooth has been filled with a composite filling, youll be able to eat and speak like normal. However, your tooth may be a little sensitive to foods and drinks that are hot or cold for a day or two. It may take a little time for your filling to completely acclimate, but you shouldnt feel any discomfort over the long term with this type of tooth repair.

The end goal for receiving composite fillings is to restore the structure of your tooth so that its comfortable and functions normally. It will help reduce and probably eliminate the occurrence of any infection or decay. After your treatment, youll be given proper care instructions to help keep your repaired tooth as healthy as possible.
