Dentist Dr. Jess L Holler founded Elite Smiles Dental in 1981, after taking over the practice from Dr. Merle Drew, who had been in that same building since 1950. Since then, he and his team continue to take continuing education courses focused on crowns, bridges, and implant procedures. His favorite part about working in dentistry is interacting with people and helping them achieve their oral health goals.
He first became interested in a career in dentistry when he was in high school. Dr. Hollers first focus was on the medical field, and he entered Indiana University as a pre-med student. In his second year at school, Dr. Holler met his wife, Cindy and her grandfather was a dentist. Meeting and talking with him sparked that interest to pursue dentistry for Dr. Holler.
A graduate from Terre Haute South High School, Dr. Schmitz found an interest in dentistry at an early age. After experiencing multiple rounds of orthodontic treatment as well as being able to volunteer at a dental clinic in his youth, that interest quickly turned into a passion.
Dr. Schmitz took this passion with him as he went on to graduate from DePauw University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology, which lead to him to pursue his Masters Degree in Biology from Purdue University. He completed his dental training at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. In between studying, he also found time for love as he was able to meet his wife Claire while in school!
At Elite Smiles Dental, we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to dental care because no two patients have exactly the same medical history, dental care needs, and smile goals. Instead, we tailor each of our treatment plans to meet the needs of each individual patient. With this personalized approach to dental care, we work closely with each of our patients to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes.

Went to Dr. Holler for years and never has an issue but now that he has merged with an expensive dental practice Dr. Holler no longer takes my dental insurance. No one told me! I went in for a visit for a filling in August and paid $49 when I was told my insurance was run. Just received a bill for $460 also stating past due, no phone call from the office, no other bills sent to my but this one. You can see and smell the money in this new place. I will be looking for a new dentist, I suggest you do the same. I just can't afford dental services from "Starfleet: dental services any more. I just can't afford to keep those flat screen tv's on the ceiling running anymore. Really a shame....

Very friendly and efficient office. Mickala made me feel comfortable and did a great job. Also, as for my rogue crown..... So far, so good! So glad I decided to come here. Hope I didn't jinx it. The crown, I mean.

Have been going to Dr. Holler since 1985. It has always been a great experience from the time you enter until you leave. The new Elite Smiles Dental is very much as good so it has been an easy and pleasant transition with the merger and expansion. A special shout out to my hygienist Leslie who is the best. Dr. Holler and Dr. Schmitz are awesome !!

Dr Schmidt: The first time I met Dr Schmidt, he was so gentle and kind and fun to talk with. It turns out that I knew his parents. Dr. Holler was in the office that day so that gave me some confidence to endure this new dentist I had no choice, my dentist was retiring. The office I had been going to since I was a small child was closing This past week, I had my first visit at the new office. Wow! So innovative. So State of the Art....and that is an understatement. I discovered a TV on the ceiling above the dental chair! Not kidding, this place rocks! I felt right at home the moment I was greeted by my favorite hygienist Laci. Thank you Laci for coming to the new office and for always being so kind and gentle with my precious teeth lol. Dr Schmidt, you earned all of my trust and confidence from that very first visit at the old office. I have had dental anxiety my entire life so this means more than you will ever know! I have told so many people already about you! Thank you to everyone. I will definitely return. Seems I have no choice... This princess needs another crown.

I absolutely love my first appointment with Elite Smiles! It didn't feel like a typical dentist appointment. Leslie and Dr. Schmitz were very thorough and took their time to explain my treatment plan and go over any questions or concerns I had. Leslie also answered questions I had asked that didn't really relate to my appointment, but she made sure she could find answers. I'm looking forward to seeing them in 6 months!
