Dr. Femme Ambrosio was born and raised in San Diego. Education was emphasized growing up and a commitment to excellence has always been the standard. Dr. Ambrosio has always wanted to establish roots in her home town and have a positive influence in her community.
Dr. Ambrosio graduated from Scripps Ranch High School. She attended The University of California San Diego with a degree in Biochemistry Cell Biology. Dr. Ambrosio then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Southern California. Throughout dental school, Dr. Ambrosio was actively involved in outreach programs extended towards children. Through such programs, she has provided care to children in rural areas of southern California, Belize, Costa Rica and Mexico City. After graduation, Dr. Ambrosio chose to advance her education by specializing in pediatric dentistry in a two-year residency program at The University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center. It was there she received a Master of Science in Dentistry degree by comparing the effectiveness of two topical anesthetics.
Dr. Ambrosio and her husband, Andrew decided to spend a couple of years in New York City to try something new before establishing roots back home in San Diego. Dr. Ambrosio then became an associate at a leading pediatric dental practice in New Yorks Park Ave on the Upper East Side. It was in the big apple where their son, Bennett, was born. Although their time in New York was great, she wanted her kids to be closer to family and moved back to San Diego.
Dr. Ambrosio has been able to practice and learn from different trains of thought throughout the country. Her range of experience allowed her to broaden her depth of patient care. Dr. Ambrosio feels truly blessed to be doing something she loves every day. She spends her free time with her kids and enjoys running and traveling with her family.
Pediatric Dentistry is the dental specialty recognized by the American Dental Association, which encompasses comprehensive dental care for all children, from infancy through adolescence. A childrens dental specialist is a practitioner who, after becoming a general dentist, has completed an additional two years of post-doctoral training in the recognition and treatment of childrens dental and orthodontic problems. Specialty education includes child psychology, behavior guidance, preventive techniques, restorative dentistry, interceptive orthodontic care, and the treatment of children with special needs.
Upon completion of specialty training, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry certifies pediatric dentists based on high standards of excellence. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a rigorous voluntary examination process designed to validate the knowledge, skills, and experience required to deliver high quality patient care to infants, children, young adults and patients with special health care needs. Successful completion of the examination permits one to be designated a Diplomate of the Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr Ambrosio and her staff are the best. They are kind, caring and go out of their way to ensure excellent customer service. I was there with my kids yesterday to have their teeth cleaned and asked if there was a vending machine in the building as my blood sugar was dropping low and needed something quick. The front desk staff brought me a cup of juice right away. Then the same night I had a crown fall off and since my regular dentist had retired and I had not established with a new one I emailed dr Ambrosio's office to ask if they could recement the crown. They couldn't do that, but responded right away and provided recommendations for a local general dentist. Highly recommend Dr Ambrosio and her whole team!

My two year old and I visited Elite Pediatric Dentistry today and it was the best experience for both of us! The hygienist came into the waiting room to ask me a few questions about his oral health and to get to know my son before taking him to the back! I appreciated the progression of events because my toddler benefits from a slow and steady pace when experiencing new things. After a few more minutes, the hygienist brought us back to our room and my son immediately climbed up into the dental chair and put on these headphones that were connected to the two TVs in the room (one being in the ceiling)! The doctor came in within 5 minutes so he didn't get too anxious waiting for a long time. Dr. Ambrosio was so sweet and kind with my son and told him exactly what was going to happen before it happened but also got in there and got the job done as quickly as possible! My son was so excited when we finished and he immediately got to pick a fun surprise!! As we were leaving, we saw a floor to ceiling white board decorated and said, "First Visit:" and then my sons name! It was so adorable so we took a picture right next to it! We are so excited to go back in 6 months for a check up!

We came with some trauma from a past horrible dental visit. This visit was amazing. Both my girls had the best experience, they were happy and comfortable. We all left the visit so happy and relieved to have finally found a dentist we love, already made our next appointments. Would recommend 100%.

Had the most positive first experience at Elite Pediatric Dentistry and wanted to share! The staff was so friendly and the Dentist was so thorough and kind. They took both of my children at the same time in neighboring rooms with an open window between so I could be present for both exams. It was perfect!! Movies on the ceiling above them to keep them distracted and a toy to follow the visit. Very happy to have found this office!!!

Update: My daughter had a consultation with another pediatric dentist to whom Dr. A referred us for further treatment, After a 5 minute exam, this dentist claimed that my daughter has weak enamel and 4 cavities that Dr. A did not notice! Dr. A saw my daughter 6 times over the last 10 months, and every single time I asked her if she had any concerns about my daughter's teeth as a whole. Original Review: This is a difficult review to leave. Dr. A has a great bedside manner with toddlers, her office is clean, and her staff are friendly. Until last week, I had all the confidence in the world in her judgment. Then she extracted my 3 year old's molar with NO nitrous oxide after we explicitly discussed using it when I scheduled the appointment. On the day of the appointment, she did not inform me of this change in treatment plan. (I would have left and sought care elsewhere.) Over two conversations, she failed to provide any reasonable explanation for this miscommunication. I expected Dr. A to make this difficult experience as easy as possible. Instead, she added another layer of trauma.

We had to bring our 2 year old in after a bad fall that injured his top teeth. This was his first ever visit to the dentist so we were anxious about how this might go since our kid can be pretty shy at times. Dr. A and everyone we encountered in the office was courteous and friendly. Dr A made our kid so comfortable and she was extremely thorough in her exam and in answering our questions. We are so happy to have found such a great provider!

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Ambrosio and her staff. They are so welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure that both child and parents feel at ease. During the actual examination, Dr. Ambrosio was very kind, funny, gentle, and encouraging with our daughter. She also took the time to carefully walk us through her analysis of what she saw in the X-Rays and, consequently, the course of treatment that she recommended. Finally, Dr. Ambrosio patiently and clearly answered the many questions that my wife and I had. Our daughter loved Dr. Ambrosio, and so did we. Again, I can't recommend her highly enough.

Absolutely loved our first experience with Dr. Ambrosio. So happy to finally find a good dentist for our boys (7 and 9yrs old). The entire staff is incredibly nice and welcoming, they really put everyone at ease. We were in and out in no time for their regular checkup.

My 3 kids love it here. Dr Femme is kind and attentive, the hygienists are just the right amount of gentle and quick and there are games in the waiting room. I love it because I feel Dr. Femme is straightforward in her explanations, the office staff knows what they're doing billing wise, they don't call or text million times to confirm the appointment and the wait times in the waiting room are minimal. So glad our friends told us about this office.
