Dr. Heisler later went on to specialize in Prosthodontics at the University of Rochester Medical Center. This is the branch of dentistry that is concerned with the meticulous repair or replacement of damaged or missing teeth. The Specialty Certificate is awarded after three additional years of training beyond dental school.
In 1998 Dr. Heisler completed a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. This program emphasized the use of highly specialized techniques to help restore speech and orofacial aesthetics to head and neck cancer patients. Additionally, during this fellowship, much expertise was gained in the dental treatment of all types of cancer patients and cleft palate, both those in active and those who have completed their therapies. Dr. Heisler has also served on the dental staff at New York University; The University of Rochester and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Heisler is currently an attending Prosthodontist at New York Hospital Queens (formerly Booth Memorial Hospital) serving in the graduate Prosthodontics Department.

As a trained Prosthodontist with close to 20 years experience, Dr. Heisler has a particular expertise in treating elderly patients. He takes pride in constructing the highest quality removable and fixed Dentures. Whether it is a full Denture or removable partial, you can assure that it will fit comfortably and allow you to fullyfunction without the worry.
Knowing that on occasion elderly patients may present limited mobility, the office works hard to accommodate all needs in a gentle and ethical way. Therefore, we will arrange for home visits if it is appropriate. This is just one of the many ways the office goes out of our way to benefit our patients.

Most kids in general are compliant and do not need a specialist, with the extra cost to you. We have great toys and videos, children feel comfortable and relaxed here at the dental spa. They will have a very productive and pleasant visit with us. Unlike most pediatric dentists, we use laser dentistry. Children do not need to be sedated or given anesthesia even for filling cavities!
Parental involvement in kids' oral health helps prevent tooth decay--the number one chronic health problem in American children. Twice daily brushing with a soft-bristled brush and a small amount of fluoride toothpaste is the rule, and parents must realize that young children do not have the dexterity to brush and floss by themselves and therefore may need assistance and supervision.
Our staff also stresses nutritious, low-sugar diets and drinking plenty of water to wash tooth surfaces and promote theproduction of saliva. Saliva keeps teeth and gums clean--important in between meals and during the night.
Additionally, the pediatric dentist often recommends fluoride treatments and plastic sealants for young teeth--particularly molars that have intricately-grooved chewing surfaces. These simple 'painted-on' dental materials quickly and comfortably provide protection against decay, and for adults, fluoride reduces dental sensitivity.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry advises that any decay found in children's teeth be treated. The health and development of baby teeth impacthow their adult teeth look, function and erupt into the mouth. Furthermore, it's wise for children to receive a complete orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Early orthodontic treatment wards off problems from crooked teeth later on in life--decay, gum disease, and self-image issues specifically. Early intervention takes advantage of the developing jaw, making treatment easier and less complex than older teen or adult treatment.

I was in search for a new dentist and my good friend recommended Eliot Heisler. Super easy to make an appointment and the day of my visit, there was no wait! The staff there were super friendly and attentive. Eliot Heisler was honest which was a big plus. My filling was quick and pain free. Did I mention there is a tv and massage chair? They even gave me a Elite Dental Beach towel. Happy I decided to make the change.

I came to see Dr.Heisler for a bonding consultation after being turned away and disregarded by so many other dentists. From the moment I arrived at Elite Dental Spa everything went extremely well. The receptionist is beyond helpful and friendly, the hygienist is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and Dr. Heisler is truly exceptional at what he does. After 30 years of going to another local dentist, I switched to Dr. Heisler. Turns out I was 30 years too late -- I didn't know what I'd been missing! Dr. Heisler and his staff provide me with a level of care and attention that I didn't know still existed. I have been going to Elite Dental Spa for the last 10 years. I moved to Florida over 4 years ago and tried numerous dentists but still can't find the right dentist that doesn't make me cringe during a cleaning or have me in tears during my dental work. So yes, I have been flying (given COVID times we drove) to New York and during my short time here, I always make sure to set an appointment up to see Dr H. (Don't worry, we got to New York before Florida was bad and did our 14-day quarantine!) Unfortunately, I have tons of cavities that require lots of dental work and I am very sensitive to pain. I have not seen Dr H for almost 2 years since I was pregnant and being out of town so I finally went yesterday. I knew I had some cavities and he found a crack in my filling and Dr H went in to fix it and saw decay (disgusting)!! He tried to make me feel better to say it wasn't that bad but glad we caught it on time, but I knew he was being nice because I smelt it and can tell it was gross. He worked on 2 teeth and just listening to all the work, I was scared that I would feel the pain afterwards. However, during the entire time he worked on it and even after the novocain wore off, I felt nothing! It doesn't even feel like I got my teeth worked on!! That is a true testament on why it is worth driving 20 hours to come to Elite Dental Spa! And last but not least, this is all during a pandemic where everyone had the proper PPE on and I was not concerned at all, and I have a 6 month old I need to worry about. Thank you to the Elite family for everything!

I came to find Dr Heisler by my oral surgeon for a double implant, I needed a dentist for the 2 crowns to complete and Dr Heisler did an amazing job, he is a perfectionist and one of the most personable trustworthy Dentists I have ever been to. He recently did some cosmetic work on a chipped front tooth that has completely changed my smile without breaking the bank. Also, the entire staff especially , Melanie the office manager and Lorraine the hygienist are professional and wonderful!
