Dr. Lim started a new life when he arrived in the United States after fleeing the killing fields of Cambodia at the age of 14. Although he had no formal education up to that point, he excelled in his early studies and graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Lim then went on to study dentistry at the University of Oklahoma where he won numerous awards including The Asian-American Outstanding Professional, Multicultural Achievement Award in 199394. Dr. Lim also conducted medical research on bone growth during his time at dental school.

After graduating from dental school in 1994, Dr. Lim was accepted into the prestigious trauma residency program at Hennepin Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Only four doctors out of 500 were selected for this residency program. Dr. Lim and his wife Rachel turned down this opportunity, however, in favor of moving to Oologah, OK to start a dental practice.

Dr. Lims studies continued beyond basic dental school education. He pursued advanced training in the placement and restoration of dental implants at Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Lim also studied neuromuscular dentistry, physiological dentistry, facial growth, and Controlled Arch orthodontics at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), earning his fellowship at that institution. His LVI education has shaped his unique approach to orthodontic treatment and has qualified him to treat complex TMJ issues.

The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry currently requires dentists to complete a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education every two years. Dr. Lim typically doubles this amount; at one point, he logged 192 hours of continuing education credit within a period of just three years.

Dr. Lim has a special interest in guided facial development and whole-health dentistry. His dental treatment philosophy centers on the needs of the body as a whole. Dr. Lim doesnt simply repair teeth, he strives to provide treatments that promote a balanced bite and facial profile and that harmonize with his patients health goals. Helping patients achieve comfortable, functional, and beautiful smiles is something that brings him great joy, and he likes to take plenty of time to get to know his patients well.

Dr. Lim has also focused on treating TMJ issues since 2003. People from across the country have come to him for treatment when they heard about how he had helped others. Even other medical professionals refer some of their patients to Dr. Lim for TMJ treatment.

Dr. Lim is a man of faith who credits God with the success and blessings hes enjoyed in life. In turn, he wants to give back by helping as many people as possible to likewise enjoy a higher quality of life. Dentistry is his mission, and personal values like faith and integrity impel him to provide high-quality care and to continue honing his professional skills. He is also the president of Hope for Cambodia, a non-profit mission that delivers spiritual and material relief to disadvantaged individuals in Cambodia.

Dr. Lim is the proud author of two books inspired by his life experiences: My Journey to Paradise and The Ultimate Life, a Return to the Killing Fields. Ever alert to the opportunity to encourage and inspire others, Dr. Lim makes time in his schedule for mentoring younger dentists and speaking at public events and special ceremonies.

Although he loves the life he now has, Dr. Lim does not for a moment take his blessings for granted. Hes known hardship in the form of forced labor, severe illness, starvation, the loss of family members, and the horror of witnessing acts of unspeakable violence. Instead of letting his traumatizing experiences crush his hopes, Dr. Lim fought and prayed for a better future. He now loves to share his experience and the rich lessons hes learned with others.

For over 40 years since Dr. Lim left Cambodia, he has called Oklahoma his home. He is an ordained deacon and minister of the gospel, and he and his wife Rachel have led many mission trips to Cambodia over the years. They even sponsored two young men from Cambodia, taking them into their own family. These two men became like sons to Dr. Lim and Rachel, who have already raised two daughters of their own.

Michelle joined Life Smiles of Owasso early in 2021 when our original receptionist, Joyce, retired. Having worked as a dental assistant for 23 years, Michelle brings a wealth of experience to the team. She loves helping others by educating them about their oral health, and shes always had a deep curiosity about all things related to dentistry.

Michelle and her family have a love of creation and being outdoors. When shes not in the office, Michelle enjoys caring for her familys 10 dogs, four cats, donkey, and horse while her husband coaches three local soccer teams.

Holly has been helping our neighbors keep their smiles healthy for more than 28 years. Nothing makes her feel better than seeing her patients find relief from dental pain. Holly is passionate about the way dentistry can benefit the body as a whole and change lives for the better. She loves using her knowledge to educate patients about their dental care needs.

If you ask Holly, the perfect day is about 7580 degrees and sunny. She loves gardening and hiking in Gods perfect creation when the weather is just right. Holly also loves spending time with her husband and two grown children.

Rebekah began her studies at Pensacola Christian College, where she took classes to prepare for medical school. After coming back home, however, she decided to spend some time working as a dental assistant here in her fathers practice. Rebekah has learned a lot by watching her father, Dr. Lim, as he provides treatments like full-mouth reconstruction, laser dentistry, CT scanning, facial development orthodontics, oral surgery, and dental implants.

Rebekah is still deciding whether following in her fathers footsteps and choosing a career in dentistry is the right choice for her. In the meantime, Rebekahs efficiency and friendliness make her a valuable member of our team.

Bethany is registered with the State of Oklahoma Board of Dentistry as a certified dental assistant. In addition to basic assisting skills, Bethany is also certified in radiography, nitrous oxide administration, and coronal polishing. Our patients feel confident and well cared for when Bethany is by their side, and were sure her sweet nature and professional competence will help you feel right at ease, as well.

Bethany likes being with her family and friends and spending time outdoors with her husband, Adam. While Bethany is a talented assistant inside our practice, she also shares some special skills outside of work; her talents include singing and playing several instruments in her church.

Megan joined the Life Smiles of Owasso in April 2021 to help the team while Bethany took time off to welcome her first child into the world. Megan has assisted in other dental practices since she completed her training at Green Country School of Dental Assisting. But she loves working at Life Smiles of Owasso because she noticed that everyone on the team (especially Dr. Lim) contributes to making the practice a fun and light-hearted environment.

Born and raised in Claremore, Megan loves traveling. She even spent a year abroad in Latvia with her family for mission work. When shes not in the office, Megan also enjoys watching old movies, spending time with her church family and two fur babies, and exploring the world through new culinary adventures.

Abbi started out her journey in the dental field 7 years ago as a dental assistant here at Life Smiles of Owasso. While working here, she decided to further her education and applied to Tulsa Community Colleges Dental Hygiene Program. There she learned the importance of a healthy smile and how it affects the rest of the body. She has now been practicing as an RDH for two and a half years and is passionate about helping patients keep their smiles clean and healthy. Outside of the office, Abbi loves photography and capturing special moments for people to always remember. She has been married to her husband, Caleb, for five years and enjoys spending time with him, their golden retriever named Dewey, and her family.
