Originally from Houston, Dr. Khalfani Walker came to Washington, DC to attend Howard University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Passionate about helping others, Dr. Walker then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. From there, he pursued an advanced education general practice residency at Harlem Hospital Centre.
In his dedication to providing convenient and comfortable options for your familys care, Dr. Walker places great importance on continuing education. His studies have included dental implants, root canal therapy, occlusion, and comprehensive aesthetics. Dr. Vincent Smith grew up in the Washington, DC area, the oldest of three siblings. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Oakwood University, Dr. Smith attended the Howard University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2002. Completing his residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in Bronx, NY, Dr. Smith served as chief resident and was the attending dentist there for six years.
Returning to Washington to be closer to his family was a priority for Dr. Smith so he returned home in 2008. Now serving his community as a dentist in Takoma Park and Wheaton, Dr. Smith is dedicated to giving you the options you want and need from teeth whitening to dentures and dental implants or even emergency dentistry, Dr. Smith is here for your familys smiles.
Dr. Jasmine Marshall achieved her Bachelor of Science degree in 2013 from Hampton University before attending dental school at Virginia Commonwealth. After earning her doctorate, Dr. Marshall completed her general practice residency at Harlem Hospital. Choosing our community after graduation was easy for Dr. Marshall her family is still in Virginia Beach and her brother lives nearby.
As a child growing up in Virginia Beach, Dr. Marshall had extensive work done on her teeth. Her general dentist was an inspiration to her and after he allowed her to shadow him, Dr. Marshalls interest in being a dentist herself was born. Having first-hand knowledge of the difference a compassionate and dedicated dentist can make to your experience also shaped how Dr. Marshall practices. Dr. Jana McCall is a native of Decatur, GA. Dr. McCall completed her undergraduate education at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, she continued her education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. While at the University of Michigan, Dr. McCall was recognized by the faculty for excellence in clinical periodontics and patient care and received numerous awards. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Dr. McCall was accepted to an extensive 3-year specialty program in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. McCall earned a certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology.
Dr. McCall is proud to be recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. This status is only granted to periodontists who have completed significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. Dr. McCall provides a wide range of periodontal treatments for periodontal disease, dental implant placement, and cosmetic periodontal procedures.
Dr. Latoya Callahan, a Georgia native, grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University. She went on to attend Howard University College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. She completed two years of a General Practice Residency (GPR) program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center where she served as Chief Resident. After practicing general dentistry for a number of years, she decided to pursue a long-standing goal of a career in orthodontics. She completed a 3-year specialty residency program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center where she earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Callahan recognizes the significant impact that orthodontic treatment can have on ones self-esteem and confidence. The results can be positively transformative. She believes that it is key that the relationship between the patient, the orthodontist, and the rest of the team of dental professionals is a collaborative one, where the orthodontist carefully listens to the patients concerns and helps the patient to navigate treatment options to arrive at the optimal plan best suited to achieve their treatment goals. Dr. Callahan enjoys engaging patients with an excellent chair side manner during the treatment journey to obtain a beautiful smile. She employs conservative treatment techniques to deliver outstanding outcomes while maintaining oral health, which she believes above all is paramount.
Dr. Callahan lived and practiced in the New York metropolitan area for over 13 years before deciding to return to the area that she enjoyed so much while attending dental school in Washington DC. She currently resides in Maryland with her son.

Did a cleaning in the spring and Walker told me I needed a filling on a tooth which I refused to do. Changed dentists and the new dentist checked and there was NO cavity and NO filling needed. This is blatant unethical dentistry this practice should be avoided. If this happened to me, it has happened to others. REPORT to the MD Board of Dentistry, file a complaint!

My crown was not fitted properly. I had come back and spoke to the Dr. He told me that is how he does them and me seeing the dark cement all along the bottom was proper. Well fast forward to the crown pushing on the other teeth farther forward causing a break in a healthy tooth. He did sand down my other crown to make room for this one after I complained. To fix the cap cost me thousands. I wouldn't go here at all. I have X-rays from three other doctors who were careful to use any terms but did say it needed to be done again.

Elite Dental is a poorly run dental practice which up sells unnecessary treatments such as adult fluoride and other medically questionable remedies. They make no effort to keep costs down which results in extra costs beyond insurance coverage. Personal experience is that some staff are dishonest. Health care related practices which have no integrity should be AVOIDED.

Elite Dental over the years, has consistently provided me expert level services. Although the technicians may change from time to time, the quality of care and techniques used are always high level professional services. I can't say enough, how the staff can make an unpleasant dentist visit such a pleasure! From the cheerful front office greetings and overall operations, this place is the best!

Friendly staff, clean, and assistants/hygienists/dentists that take great time and care with patients. They are a little pricey, but the service quality and opportunity to support a black-owned community practice makes it worth for someone who has the financial means.

Rating is based on its office protocol. I was given a surprise bill because the office admin failed to inform they don't verify insurance benefits prior to visits unless its a first time visit. The office manger explained its not part of their job to do so which I don't agree with. On the other hand, my experience with the doctor and hygienist was great.

I've been coming to Elite Dental for years, and it's far and away the best dental office I've ever worked with. They're efficient and attentive, with phenomenal chair-side manner and a real focus on giving you a positive experience. I've had extensive work done by them. It's all been of excellent quality. It'd be a stretch to say that I look forward to visiting them (it IS a dentist's office after all), but when coming out of a dental appointment puts you in a _better_ mood than when you went in? That's something pretty special. The difference between them and other dentist's I've gone to in the past is night and day.

Not sure anyone enjoys going to the dentist, but Christy and Dr. Marshall made it a good experience, once again. They go beyond nice and are very thorough. Was very happy that they are continuing to follow all the Covid protocol preventions. Thank you.

My office visit was amazing as always!!! Dr. Walker and the staff are so knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions that you may have about treatment and prevention. You are never made to feel like just another appointment. I highly recommend them. I am super sad that I can't pack them up and take them with me when I relocate.
