Nicholas Bottorff, DDS, is the owner of Elevated Dentistry, located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Bottorff has a calming presence and has received multiple awards for his outstanding bedside manner. Dr. Bottorff also possesses strong artistic sensibilities, making him passionate about delivering aesthetic results when performing cosmetic and restorative procedures. His practice philosophy is, the best dentistry looks like no dentistry has been done, meaning he pays special attention to the unique anatomy of each patient in relation to size, shape and shading, just as in nature.
Dr. Bottorff is dedicated to lifelong learning and providing patients with the highest quality comprehensive care. As a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Clear Aligners, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Dr. Bottorff is able to stay up to date and well trained in the latest technology, research and advancements in technique. In addition to those specialty organizations, Dr. Bottorff is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Virginia Dental Association.
A native of Clifton, Virginia, Dr. Bottorff played as a goalie in the Western States Hockey League prior to attending university. He then went on to complete his undergraduate degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he majored in biological sciences. Dr. Bottorff then earned a post-baccalaureate certificate in advanced biomedical sciences at Georgetown University before enrolling at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. During his collegiate years, Dr. Bottorff spent his summers working under the direction of the dentist for the NFLs Washington Football Team, where he focused on sports dentistry.

I have sensitive gums and my dental assistant takes great care of me every time. Always making sure that she causes the least amount of pain. She is amazing! The dentist is very personable, professional, and thorough. He always takes time to check your teeth and to get to know you. Really great guy. The front desk staff is kind and knowledgeable. The facility is immaculate and all of the equipment is new. But, my favorite thing about this place is that they have the TVs on the ceiling so i can relax a little bit and not think about the drill in my mouth. *****

I was worried going into this place, 5 star reviews, beautiful folks and doctors on the website, a lot of comfort questions/amenities/expensive equipment, that I would have an impersonal, shame filled, expensive initial visit. My doctor and his assistant Haley absolutely killed it at floating the line of having the information, and meeting me on my level of needing a casual/down to earth experience, and they laid exactly what's going to happen out in front of me, checking in throughout. As someone with trauma surrounding my mouth, this was a very nice community feeling, and I can only hope it's as beautiful behind the scenes as they show their patients.

I was referred to this Dentist by my Practitioner and I am VERY HAPPY that I was! From the moment I walked in...Thru out the visit... and all the way up thru the end I was impressed with it all... The staff, the dentist (.Dr. Bottorff) all have a calming, reassuring presence and Dr. Bottorff has a Wonderful Bedside Manner! I haven't been to the dentist in many MANY years and every single one in this office made me feel welcome and comfortable....Iv already told a few of my coworkers about my experience! To sum my experience up in 3 little words : I was Impressed!!

I usually don't leave dentist reviews until some actual work has been done (and unfortunately my case is too complicated for all but the most experienced and intrepid general dentists at this point), but meeting the staff and dentist here was extremely pleasant. Everyone was kind and the dentist followed up with me by phone after my consult as promised.
