After returning from a year-long trip through Central and South America, Dr. Schuyler Van Gorden and Dr. Rebecca Steinbach developed a spectrum of significant health issues. Dr. Schuyler Van Gorden grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He graduated from Ripon College with a degree in Chemistry and later completed dental school at the University of Colorado. Dr. Schuyler Van Gorden worked as an associate dentist in Denver before becoming a dentist in Glenwood Springs and acquiring his own practice, where he practiced for nearly a decade.

Dr. Rebecca Steinbach grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. She graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Anthropology, and minors in Anatomy and Neurobiology, and completed dental school at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in 2004.

After graduating, Dr. Rebecca Steinbach practiced dentistry in Wisconsin, Chicago, and other parts of Illinois until she moved back home in 2008 purchasing a dental practice in Louisville in early 2009. Dr. Rebecca Steinbach and Dr. Schuyler Van Gorden sold the practice in 2012 and spent a year traveling south of the equator until moving to the Roaring Fork Valley.

When Dr. Rebecca Steinbach isnt in the office, youll find her wrangling their two dogs, Jax and Daisy. She also enjoys fishing, hiking with friends, learning how to ski, and spending time with her husband Dr. Schuyler Van Gorden.

Our dental hygienist Shawna has lived in Colorado most of her life and recently moved here from Paonia. A love of outdoor activities with the added bonuses of being in a whole-body wellness-focused office brought Shawna to our biological dentistry practice. Shawna is elevated by riding her road bike, traveling, sewing, and spending time with her three daughters. She would like to travel the country in her motorhome in the future.

Our dental assistant Lui is from Basalt, CO. He was brought to Elevate Dental Wellness to take his dental assistant skills to the next level under the guidance of our holistic dentists. Lui is elevated by making his family and himself proud as much as he can. His ideal experience would be to learn how biological dentistry is put into action on a daily basis.
