Dr. Kwon is a native North Carolinian who first came to the D.C. Metro area in 1996 for a health policy internship. After completing her undergraduate studies and graduate dental education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with honors, she became a Virginian in 2004!
Prior to starting her private practice in Reston, VA, Dr. Kwon completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UCLA Medical Center. She continues to pursue post-graduate training at many of the top dental training institutes in the world including the Las Vegas Institute, the Seattle Institute, the Pankey Institute and the Nash Institute for Dental Learning to ensure that she has the most current scientific literature and knows the latest techniques to give the best quality of care to her patients. She has been recognized as a Top Dentist by Virginia Living Magazine as well as the National Consumer Advisory Board.
Dr. Kwon feels immense joy when she is able to improve patients smiles and is known for her gentle and compassionate care. Whether treating dental patients at an orphanage in Mexico or in Ecuador while on a medical mission trip, to treating patients in the South Riding and the surrounding communities of Virginia, Dr. Kwon has devoted her 20-year career to providing excellent and compassionate dental care, always with her patients best interest at heart.
Tiffany has been in the dental field for over two years. After graduating from Malone University in 2016, she moved from Ohio to Nebraska and began working at a corporation. She desired to work closely with people and wanted to move into a field that would make people smile! In 2018, she moved to Virginia, started working in dental and has loved every minute of it. The joy of seeing people walk through the door and being able to build relationships makes for a very rewarding day. Her hope is that everyone will leave here with a smile!
In Tiffanys spare time, she enjoys exploring the Shenandoah National Park with her husband, James, her sons, Daniel and Samuel, and her dog, Chester. She also loves running daily, weightlifting, woodworking and trying new healthy recipes.
Yoselin has been a dental assistant for over 17 years. She values each patients uniqueness and is a strong believer in building relationships with her patients. She is dedicated to the comfort and well-being of her patients. Her priority is to make sure that all patients, whether they are anxious or not feeling well, leave happy with their visit. Yoselin enjoyed volunteering in the Mission of Mercy project as well as Give Kids a Smile. Yoselins pride and joy are her son and two daughters, Kayden, Kelani and Kai. Yoselin spends most of her free time with her family. She enjoys baking for her family and friends.
JoAnna started her career in dentistry at age 15 when she began assisting her childhood dentist. She attended Broome Community College (SUNY Broome), one of the top dental hygiene programs on the East Coast, and she considers it one of the best decisions shes ever made! JoAnna graduated in May of 1993 with honors and received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Dental Hygiene. After graduating, she became a clinical instructor of dental hygiene at her alma mater. Leaving academia four years later allowed her to learn invaluable lessons from leaders, dentists and their teams. She feels blessed for having worked for some of the best doctors and practices, both in general dentistry and in orthodontics.
Since moving to Virginia, JoAnna has been working with Dr. Kwon. She is honored to be a part of this practice, working with our phenomenal doctor. Dr. Kwons expertise and guidance have allowed her to grow in dentistry. All have been very educational experiences, and 37 years of experience in dentistry makes her a grad of life!
In her spare time, she enjoys exploring her new home of Northern Virginia with her husband of 33 years, Carl, her daughter, Kelsey, her German Shepard, Ella, and the newest addition her Goldendoodle, Lacey. She also frequently travels back home to Upstate New York to visit her son, Kevin, and the rest of her family and friends. Interior decorating, home improvement projects, painting, baking and cake decorating are a few of her creative outlets.
Juli has been in the dental field for seven years. She started working at a dental practice while attending undergraduate studies at George Mason University, where she graduated with a BA in psychology and criminology. She has worked in all positions throughout the office, and she hopes to become a dental hygienist someday soon! She enjoys getting to know our patients and meeting people from all different backgrounds. Juli hopes to help all patients achieve their best, most vibrant smile. She is also excited to be a part of such a positive, happy and loving work environment!
Juli prioritizes family time and helps her father with his roofing and remodeling business in her spare time. She also enjoys working on her own home-based bakery business, Buenos Diaz. Juli loves to travel, she is a huge fan of all kinds of dance, and she enjoys playing soccer in her spare time! Her favorite travel destination is back home to Mexico to visit family and friends.
Yen has worked in the dental field for over 20 years. She started her journey in high school, volunteering at a dental office. She knew she found her passion when she felt how rewarding it was to help uncover each patients beautiful smile after their cleanings. She quickly transitioned from receptionist to dental assistant, finally became a hygienist and has not looked back ever since! Yen enjoys seeing patients of all ages and conditions for their regular visits and periodontal needs. Her priority is to ensure patients are comfortable and pain free.
Yen loves her family here at Elan Dental because you always feel welcomed when you walk through the door. She also loves how passionate the team is about providing the best care both to patients and staff.
Yens favorite quote is by Ziad K. Abdelnour, and it reads, A negative mind will never give you a positive life. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the great outdoors and traveling to different places. She is a foodie that loves trying all the unique dishes on her travels. When she is not out and about, she enjoys gardening with her two young children. Nothing beats fresh fruit and vegetables grown by her own two hands!
Nicole has been in the dental field for 15 years. Having first started at the front desk, she quickly realized that she had found her calling and wanted to learn everything she could. She began assisting as well, trying to expand her knowledge base. Nicole has worked with Dr. Judy Kwon for nine years in multiple roles. She was promoted to office manager approximately six years ago. At lan Dental of South Riding, Nicole enjoys the role of practice manager, as it allows her to interact with the patients and the staff daily. She finds great satisfaction in seeing each one of our patients happy and living a healthier life because they were here.
In Nicoles free time, she enjoys spending time with her six children: Isabelle, Victoria, Padyn, Logan, Oliva and Grayson. Finding new and exciting family outings for her husband, Rob, and the kids to enjoy is always the focus of her free time.

I've been to this office a number of times. The clinic is very super clean, and the staffs are friendly. I like Yen Ly, my dental hygienist. She does an excellent job of cleaning my teeth. She never missed any spots. Also, Yen is very gentle with her patients and I do not feel pain at all. That is the reason why I followed her from the old dental practice to the current place. Also, Yen Ly can speak both Vietnamese and Chinese fluently. She does not mind being your translator if you need one. My mom does not speak English and Yen Ly does not mind spending her time translating for my mom. I also think children will feel safe and at ease with Dr. Judy because she is so thorough. My three-year-old boy is happy and did not whine after leaving the office. I have referred some other people and all of them are happy with the services provided by Dr. Judy and the crews. Also, the great thing is that the office is open on Saturday. So, it will be more convenient for those who do not have available time from Monday to Friday like me. After all, I want to say thank you, Dr. Judy, Yen Ly, and the teams for giving us the best service.

I'm very pleased with the staff of Elan Dental of South Riding. They all are very friendly and helpful to my queries regarding to insurance and payments. As for Dr. Kwon, she is a perfectionist. I recently had my crown done with her, she would make sure that it fitted in nicely and correctly put in. I feel very comfortable and trust her completely. I'm very glad and proud of myself that I discovered this friendly family dentistry, with excellent dentist and staff. As an extremely nervous patient, everyone from the front desk, hygienist, and Doctor made me feel at ease. They never push for any upselling and genuinely care about your health. All pricing and insurance coverage was provided up front, the office space is clean and relaxing, appointment never felt rushed and was extremely thorough, and the entire staff is so approachable, kind, and understanding. I wish all medical practices were like this. Amazing!

I've only had great experiences going here! Though I didn't really need it, the hygienist checked in with me often about whether I was fine/in pain, so I'm guessing this place would be good for people with dental-related anxiety. The dentist seems to care about educating patients thoroughly and making sure they're getting the best care. I also haven't felt at any point like the office was trying to squeeze me for money. I've had a previous dentist give me fluoride treatment during a regular cleaning without asking if I wanted it and then bill me $40 since it was not covered by insurance as part of a regular cleaning, and my partner has had root scaling and planing pushed onto him by a dentist even though two other dentists he saw for second opinions said he absolutely did not need that procedure. I've also had an easy time scheduling appointments relatively quickly here. My previous dentist required me to schedule my cleanings 3-4 months out, which is difficult with a busy schedule. Elan Dental also provides appointments outside of normal business hours. Overall, the people working here are very warm and welcoming, and I feel like I'm in good hands here. Definitely recommend!

My dental hygienist was Yen Ly and she was very thorough. She consistently checked on me to see if the procedure was hurting me or not since I mentioned about my anxiety with teeth cleaning in general. The whole process did not hurt at all. She also explained to me about gum receding and how to prevent it from happening. Great service overall.

Having been in the military, I have been in the chair of well over 30 dental providers. By far this practice was my best experience ever. Dr Kwon and Yen are clinical experts but create a calm and caring atmosphere! I had a 100% comfortable experience over several appointments! The staff are all very attentive and go above and beyond to achieve an overall exceptional patient experience!

It's been a really good experience. Dr. Kwon and Yen are really amazing!! Dr. Kwon is great!! She's very soft and sweet and thorough! Yen is also the sweetest and spends great time knowing her patients. She's very friendly and gives great advice!! Genuinely shows true knowledge and explains each process as she works on your teeth.
