Dr. Edwin Torres graduated from the University of the East College of Dentistry in Manila, Philippines. He passed the California Board Licensure Examination in 2009 and has been an Associate Dentist in many dental practices in Sacramento and the Bay Area. He is particularly great with kids having worked over 3 years as a pediatric dentist in Sacramento. He is also kind and compassionate to the elderly. He has worked as a mobile dentist for Lumina Health Care, a company that provides dental services to senior homes and skilled nursing facilities in Sacramento and the Central Valley. Dr. Torres continually hones his dental skills by attending numerous seminars and receiving mentorship from the area's best clinicians.

Dr. Torres, fondly called Doc ET by colleaguesand friends, is the youngest in a family of 12 brothers and sisters, all of whom are successful in their respective fields. He is happily married and blessed with a beautiful and talented daughter. As his hobby and primary form of relaxation, Dr. Torres plays the flute. He has been playing the instrument since he was 10 years old. He was a former member of the Sacramento and Rancho Cordova Band and currently a member of the Sacramento Flute Club.

He is excited to be starting his dental practice in the Carmichael/Arden Area of Sacramento to apply his skills, professionalism and dedication to serving the dental needs of the residents, schools and small businesses in the neighborhood.

Gone are the days of plates and photographic films. El Camino Family Dental Practice utilizes digital x-rays so that we can easily identify and make any adjustments in approaching your oral health needs. Aside from this, we use intraoral cameras that will let you see what we see in your mouth. This way, youare more aware of your oral health needs, and can become more confident in making decisions about your dental treatments.

We also employ Dryshield Isolation System in order to make your time at the dentist's chair more comfortable, and quite possibly shorter, compared to those days when bite blocks, saliva ejectors, cotton rolls and gauze were used during dental practice.

I was here with my 4 year old daughter for regular check up and for no reason and without asking me the assistant dentist was forcing us to take x-ray of all of her teeth. When I asked why? she got upset whitout any explanation she yeild at the front desk x-ray refusel. She even refused to tell me if there was any visible decay or any cavity while throwing her hands and out loud she was telling me that I refused x-ray so she won't tell me anything. They are doing x-rays for no reason just to charge your insurance. I will highly suggest you take your kids somewhere else.

I have been anxious about visits to the dentist all my life and avoid the simplest visit x-rays and cleaning. Dr. Torres understood how I felt from my first visit years ago and has always gone out of his way to make sure I was comfortable during every visit. The staff maintain its cleaning standards to perfection. Today 5/18/21 my x rays and teeth were cleaned. Waite there is a New Employee Named Pearl I must brag about. Pearl the dental hygienist is highly skilled and kind. Peal's touch is exceptional and after her procedures I said, you're all done, oh I Want to Stay Longer! That may sound funny to you but when you discover a practice which helps with fear and the appointment was a great experience, and your unhappy your appointment is over, I thought I must share. Edwin P. Torres, D.M.D at El Camino Family Dental Practice, Pearl, Kristine and Sarah Office Coordinator make a winning team. Do not put off and schedule today knowing you can let go your fear. Happy Trails All!

Doc Edwin took real good care of me. He explained to me my situation, listened to me, and discussed with me his plans and suggestions in order for me to get back in good dental health. Doc Edwin is very professional. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The building is very neat, clean, organized, and well kept. And there are parking spaces in front of the office. I highly recommend. - Jon

Love this dental office. They always make my kids feel comfortable even when they've had to drill cavities. Yes the rooms are very small but the dr and staff are extremely caring and kind.

I've visited about 5 times in total: twice on Fridays, twice on Saturdays, and once on a Monday. All appointments have been for my toddler son and we have visited here since 2017. Pros: They can be nice. Dr. Edwin Torres is good with children and my son has always felt comfortable as his patient. The treatment rooms are decorated with child-friendly decals and contain a monitor where children can watch friendly shows (like Pj Masks) on YouTube as they are being taken care of. The staff carefully reviews paperwork with you in terms of verifying and clarifying what will be done on the teeth before they will be worked on. I assume that they accept Medi-Cal since this dentistry is listed as my son's designated dentist through Medi-Cal. The staff is sometimes friendly. The dentist gets the job done; there has been no issues on my son's teeth that he has worked on. My son always receives stickers after his appointments for being well behaved. Cons: -The office hours are inconsistent and sometimes they hardly answer the phone. Their posted hours on Google, Yelp, their own website, and their answering machine does not match up. -They have a missed appointment policy that states "If you need to cancel or reschedule please notify our office at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Otherwise you may have to be charged a missed appointment fee of $50.00." However, they don't always honor the appointment times that they set themselves sometimes and it can be frustrating if you, like myself, have a strict schedule and uphold appointments and meetings. They normally call you a day or so ahead of time to check if you will still be able to come but twice out of my 5 visits, we had appointment issues. The first time, the receptionist insisted our appointment was at a different time and spoke to me rudely but thankfully I brought my appointment card to get her off my case. The second time, I scheduled about 2 weeks ahead of time for an appointment at 1pm but twice, last minute (like a day before and the day of), the receptionist kept trying to change the appointment time because the dentist had a meeting to attend and as my son was the last appointment booked for the day, they kept trying to coax us to get it done at 11am. Children have school and since my son is on a morning kindergarten 4 hour schedule, I stressed multiple times that the appointment has to be after noon. The day before the appointment, they totally dismissed that we made the appointment at 1 pm but I caught them when they said 11am and they said they thought they called me to let me know they changed it (they didn't call me and they should have asked). They then called the morning of at 11am and asked AGAIN if we could come in at 11am or possibly 12:30pm even though we confirmed for 1pm. If you've learned anything from this, KEEP AND BRING YOUR APPOINTMENT CARD AS EVIDENCE. -"For everyone's safety, parents are not allowed in the treatment rooms unless called in." -The staff are incapable of keeping accurate records of all of their documentation. Besides appointment issues, we've had one visit where both the dentist and receptionist wanted to debate with me about the root canal done on my son's tooth. They were adamant that they were correct because on their records, the tooth was not worked on, but they made sure to point out the area in the image and records to support their statement. I told them to just simply check my son's mouth and they'll know that I'm not wrong and finally after having my son set up in the chair with the light shining in his mouth, I proved to be correct. It turns out that the dental assistant who worked with Dr. Torres for the procedure FORGOT to mark down that the tooth was worked on. I received a meek apology.

I'm Giving this place 2 stars would Give 1 Star but the receptionist that handles the front office is really nice. On another Note, The Dentist Assistant is really something else. When they started drilling into my daughters tooth ( she's 3 yrs old) I mentioned once that maybe she couldn't breathe because a lot of her saliva was running down her mouth. I said this in a nicely calmed manner. So I just being a father I would tell her it's okay you'll be fine just hang in there. Well after a few more cheering words the Dentist and the Assistant couldn't do, they Both got up put there Equipment back on the rack and left the room. After about 10 minutes of waiting the Receptionist came in the room and told me I would be Switched places with My Wife. As I walked out my daughter started crying for me so I asked if I could stay in the room with her. Right after, The Dentist Assistant Told me That i needed to "not talk" and to "stop babying your daughter" or else she would "Get up and walk out the office with the Dentist" and leave my daughter unattended. She then Reassured me by saying " you saw us we just got up and left ha" With a smurk on her face. Saying she's been doing this for many years. Well Lady if you've been doing this for many years and it's catching up to your Mental health you should think of retiring and let a better assistant with Patience handle children. I was Boiling on the inside at this point but held it in so they wouldn't hurt my daughter afterwards. They Didn't finish her root canal we left with a temporary filling. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AT ALL. I will be filing a Grievance .

Do NOT trust these pieces of trash with your childreN! I brought my son here twice. The first time didnt set off too many alarms for the fact that their office appeared clean and the wait wasnt bad. But once you let them touch your child its game over. Not only did their dentist drill on my childs tooth without numbing it they lied to him infront of my face telling him to shut up and that they werent hurting him. When my son wouldnt hold still for this painful treatment the spic dental assistant assaulted my son grabbing him and slamming his arms to his chest. When i got upset about it they threw us out with a half filled soft filling. These people are trash disgusting losers who should not be employed let alone alive.
