Dr. Nicole Yates grew up in Columbus, GA. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Georgia State University in Atlanta, and graduated from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia).
Upon graduating dental school Nicole spent four years serving as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, during which a one year General Practice Residency was completed. Dr. Yates is a member of the Georgia Dental Association, as well as the Southeastern District Dental Society.
Her husband, Steven, and their two young sons, Warren and Holden, welcomed a return to the sunshine of the southeast after enduring harsh Rhode Island winters. Steven teaches 7th grade Social Studies at a local Middle School. Outside of work, the Yates family enjoys being outdoors kayaking, fishing, or enjoying the beach. Warren and Holden obtained passports very young, as the family enjoys world traveling.
I love working with the great group of ladies we have here at Effingham Smiles. We all care for our patients and go out of our way to help them and make sure they are taken care of. We have a lot of different personalities, which to me makes our office fun and a great atmosphere to be in!
It is very rewarding to help people stay healthy and feel great about themselves. I love getting to know my patients and their families. I want my patients to love their smile and have good oral health!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two girls. We like trips to the lake, fishing, camping, and many other outdoor activities. Spending time together with friends and family is what we like the most!
I love getting to work with such an amazing team that truly care about what is best for our patientsnot to mention Chick-fil-A being next door and all the awesome snack boxes every month from all over the world!
During my free time I am always having fun with my little boy outside! We love to ride buggys, four-wheelers, swim in the lake, go to the ball field and sometimes spend our whole day watching Boss Baby! I love it!
I love my co-workers, because we are all very supportive of one another and work as a team. I also love the patients that we see. I love helping adults and kids overcome their dental anxiety, and reassuring them that we will do anything we can to deliver the best possible dental visit.
I love spending time with my two kids at the beach. I always enjoy being outdoors with my loved ones and friends. I love watching sports, whether it is on TV or in-person and I am always down for road trips!
I love working with an amazing team and most importantly getting to build relationships with our patients. I enjoy getting to know them all and them being confidant with their smiles. It is such a rewarding position. I love my Effingham Smiles family!
I spend time with my family and our pups at home, riding back roads, anything that involves food, traveling, exploring the beauty of Savannah, and the occasional shopping spree! Those are my favorite things to do!
Working as a team to ensure that we give patients the best experience and care. Dental Health is so important and a lifelong commitment. I want patients to have trust and confidence in our team when they visit. A smile goes a long way. With every patient that walks through our doors, is a smile that goes out into the world. That is an important and great thing to be a part of!
I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids and rescue animals. We spend a good amount of time at the ball field. When we are not there, we enjoy going to events in the community, trips out of state and little adventures.

So I was extremely nervous and self conscious of my teeth for many years. I was so happy with the way these guys made me feel. They were so welcoming and so nice and never made me feel embarrassed of how my teeth looked. They reassured me they will fix me up and gain my confidence again! I will highly recommend Effingham Smiles Dentistry to anyone I know. Wonderful experience and they really made me feel like they cared. Such nice staff!

The staff are very personable and efficient. The convenience of interacting via text messaging to make appointments and receive reminders is absolutely awesome, the decor is warm and inviting and the professionalism of all is world class. I am not a fan of going to the dentist but Effingham Smiles has me smiling!

Think twice about going to Effingham Smiles, located in Rincon, GA. I went in several months ago for a routine cleaning, and was told that I had two fillings that needed to be replaced. I was skeptical, as I was not having any issues with the teeth, but I ultimately decided to follow the advice of the "professionals". Upon returning to have the work done, I waited for over an hour. It was apparent to me that dentist was rushing her work, while going back and forth between me and other patients. I was not numbed properly and as a result, experienced a great deal of pain during the "treatment". It felt like nerve damage. Needless to say, the work done to my mouth (filling on the upper and lower, right side) ended in disaster. The pain continued long after, and was quite unbearable. I called to get back in for the pain, but was told I would have to wait another week. Ultimately, I went back to my previous dentist, begging for help. The damage done by Effingham Smiles was so serious, I ended up needing a crown and will likely need a root canal (and of course a second crown) as well, for both teeth "treated" by them. This has been a very painful and expensive experience. Although there are good reviews by others, you will have to determine if you want to take the chance of playing luck of the draw. I wish I hadn't. Make your choice. You live and you learn.

It was a very pleasant experience, I was overwhelmed with kindness and treated with great respect ! Everyone that I interacted with was professional and knowledgeable about the condition and proposed treatment for helping me with my teeth. At no time did I feel pressured about future treatment or recommended procedures. It was certainly one of the Best dental visits I have experienced, and at 63 years old I have been to the Dentist many times! THANK YOU ALL ! Mr Frank Patterson
