The dental office of Dr. Wenda DDS PA and Henry Vruwink DDS was started in 1972 by Dr. Vruwink and has served the community for 46 years. Dr. Wenda worked as Dr. Vruwink's associate from 2001 to 2004 and has returned to Asheboro to partner with Dr. Vruwink. Over the years the office has continuously been updated with the latest equipment and technology. Drs. Vruwink and Wenda have over 60 combined years of experience ready to serve you with care and compassion.
Dr. Wenda was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He attended UNC Chapel Hill for his undergraduate studies, graduating in 1996. He then studied dentistry at UNC School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill, earning his DDS degree in 2000.
Following dental school, Dr. Wenda came to work with Dr. Vruwink from 2001 to 2004 before returning to open his own practice in Raleigh. Dr. Wenda sold his dental practice in Raleigh after 10 years and opened a craft brewery in Raleigh. With the birth of twins, Dr. Wenda decided to leave the craft beer business and return to dentistry, for which he has a renewed passion.
Dr. Wenda prides himself in taking the best possible care of his patients. He enjoys learning about new techniques and technologies in dentistry. He is a member of the ADA, North Carolina Dental Society and Randolph County Dental Society.
Dr. Wenda and his wife, Susan, have 4 children: Hannah, Tyler, and twins Harper and Jeffrey. In his spare time, Dr. Wenda enjoys spending time with his family, boating, and playing and watching sports.
Dr.Henry L. Vruwink was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma but has lived in Asheboro, North Carolina since 1974. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the South (Sewanee) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Tennessee Dental School, after which he enrolled in the United States Navy for a two year completion of Advance training in restorative dentistry, periodontics, endodontics and oral Surgery. He also received many hours at the Dawson Educational Center in Tampa FL, and four weeks of training at the Normandie study group for the diagnosis and treatment for TMJ and oral pain management. He also spent weeks at the renowned L.D. Pankey Institute in Miami FL. He has also earned an advanced certificate for use of the Waterlase MD laser system.
Dr. Vruwink is a lifetime member of the the American Dental Associate and the North Carolina Dental Association; he is also member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is passionate about assisting patients who suffer from snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
Susan Wenda was born and raised in the Asheboro area. She attended UNC Greensboro and after working in her family business she entered the medical field, working for Randolph Medical Associates. She then went to work with Dr. Vruwink and her husband, Dr. Wenda at Dr. Vruwinks practice in 1999.
She and Dr. Wenda opened a dental practice in Raleigh followed by a craft brewery ten years later. After living and working in Atlanta for the last 2 years, she is excited to return to her home town of Asheboro with her husband, who is partnering with Dr. Vruwink.
Paulina Gigliotti was born in Quito Ecuador, she moved to North Carolina in 2005 where she resides with her husband and has two daughters. Since then she works in then she has worked in the dental field as a Patient and Insurance Coordinator. Patients can easily talk bilingually (Spanish) about any Insurance or Dental question they may have.
My name is Leigh Ann Sumner. In 2016, I graduated from the dental hygiene program at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. I began my dental hygiene career working at a pediatric dental office for about three and half years.
I have been a patient of Dr. Wenda and Dr. Vruwink since I was a little girl. It is an honor to be able to work at the dental practice I grew up getting my dental needs taken care of. I look forward to providing the same level of care I received over the years.

Not handicap accessible to get in to the facility. Only stairs to get in to the dentist office. Was not told this upon making the appointment. My mother is not great with stairs and this would have been a dealbreaker when making the appointment if told. So to all of those who have issues with stairs or in wheelchairs please keep this in to consideration when making the appointment. I thought as a medical facility they would be accessible to everyone.

I've been coming here since I was a little kid. I like that they know who I am, and always ask how I'm doing, how my family is, and remember the little details, like an extended family in a sense. They actually care about their patients. They're super nice, friendly, accommodating, and very competent in their profession. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone that needs just a regular cleaning or more dental work done. I've been to other dentists but they are, by far, the best. I love the family atmosphere. And the free toothpaste!

Wenda would not fill prescription after 3 times requesting it. Also was told 3 times that he would contact his "buddy" if he knew some thing better to prescribe. Dr. Vruwink has given me this medicine for 2 years. Also, Wenda filled a tooth that I am having problems with due to painful sensitiviy. Office called once but I could not understand lady which added to my frustration. In my opinion, I don't feel I am getting the care I had with Dr.Vruwink, so it is time to find another dentist. Wenda, here is your review I promised from email I sent you. What happened to my review? Hiding my review shows the character of your business. Word of mouth you can't sensor. What a joke. I guess that is why all the reviews are wonderful. You remove the ones you don't like. WOW! AMAZING!!
