Dr. Edward Shluper has been practicing dentistry since 1995. He received his degree in Dentistry from New York University and first started practicing in Philadelphia. In 1997, he opened his own office in Bloomfield, NJ, where hes practiced for 23 years. At the end of 2017, Dr. Shluper opened up a state of the art office in Mountain Lakes, NJ where he has been practicing since. His office has grown over the years and features state-of-the-art equipment.
Dr. Shluper is gentle and caring, having extensive experience and training in the areas of Endodontics and all forms of restorations. He believes in conservation of natural dentition. Dr. Shluper is also certified in Invisalign and other Clear Aligners, which are methods of straightening teeth by invisible means. Additionally, Dr. Shluper spends over 80 hours a year in continuing education courses and advancing his clinical knowledge to provide the best quality of dentistry to his patients. Dr. Edward Shluper is undergoing implant courses at this time for future implant restoration in office.

Karen is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has over 25 years of experience. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and being part of a caring and friendly dental team. Her extensive background in all aspects of the dental field, her thorough approach and attentiveness, along with her kind personality keeps her patients looking forward to their next dental cleaning. She is passionate about her career path and enjoys building relationships with both patients and staff.
Karen is married to Jeff for over 20 years and together they have two young adult sons, Logan and Shane. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and stays active participating in various outdoor activities such as skiing, softball, tennis, swimming, and hiking.

Terrible experience: I almost lost two teeth due to his unprofessional treatment. My son still has issues with the tooth he treated. We had to retreat 2 teeth to my 7 year old daughter. My sister-in-law lost 2 teeth and is geetting implants now. In more depth: Instead of referring me to a good root canal specialist immediately, he wasted 5 months trying to fix the problems himself without necessary equipment and experience. Also, he did a very poor job on 2 fillings for my daughter. The fillings came out 1 month later. I had to pay again for retreating these teeth. Extremely disappointing experience.

I have been coming to Dr. Shluper for about 3 years now and can honestly say I trust him with all my dental work. Not only do I trust him with myself, but I recommend all my friends, family and coworkers to him! He takes his time, is patient AND explains the work needed to be done. He's very understanding with scheduling and will do everything possible to help his patients. After years of looking for a dentist I wanted to go back to, I couldn't thank him enough for being the best dentist I have seen! Walking in and being greeted by a friendly front desk that remembers their patients is a welcoming feeling!

HE DESTROYED A HEALTHY TOOTH ON ME! It wasnt even what i went there for. plus What an ignorant rude staff, the type that fights on streets. This doctor doesn't speak clear English, he just nods and mumbles. WAY OVERPRICED for bleaching that you can get for way less elsewhere. Despite this DR trying to defer blame I KNOW WHERE I WENT and it was HIS OFFICE. NASTY STAFF too. Seem like they went to some GED level high school drop out medical assistant program. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. BEWARE! see how nasty they are just look at their comments! so low class! ( they took their nasty reply down haha trying to hide the level of unprofessionalism! )* despite their lame excuses IN THEIR RESPONSE, I attest this review is 100% true! I literally had to have my associate tell them I WAS NEVER WALKING IN THAT UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT AGAIN AFTER I. Demanded my 1000' s in fees I paid upfront to be returned!

What can I say about Dr. Shluper... his practice got me in this morning with an emergency and I was in severe pain, his staff was amazing, and Dr. Shluper himself is such a nice guy. He gave me my options and the best thing that worked out was a root canal to save my tooth. in my past experiences root canals have been nightmares but this one was actually amazing. I now feel a million times better thanks to his practice and have decided that he will be my dentist from now on. Thank you so much - Andy

Dr. Shluper saved our trip to Greece!! We are from Kansas City and were in Glen Ridge, NJ visiting our daughter's family over the weekend before flying to Athens on Monday. I was in excruciating pain with a lower molar and Dr. Shluper did an emergency root canal on me on Sunday evening!! There is no way I could have left on that plane Monday. He was so kind and so skilled and I am so grateful for such wonderful service from Dr. Shluper!! I would highly recommend him!!

Their hours are great for ppl who work during the day. They were super friendly and everyone has a great beside manner. The quality of work has been good and making or changing an appt is always easy.

The office is so clean and comfortable. Easy to make appointments, and Sundays are very convenient, also the waiting time is always short. I ve had few dental procedures and cleaning, and both the doctor and the hygienist were gentle. I had a great experience, and I definitely recommend.

In 2019 I developed an infection and needed an emergency dental appointment on a weekend and found Dr. Shluper and his practice online and made an appointment for that Sunday morning. The staff and Dr. Shluper were friendly and accommodating and worked with my insurance to give me the best care. Since then, they've become my primary dental provider and I'm grateful I found them.

Dr. Shluper's office is very flexible with operating hours on Sunday. This was very appreciated since we are in the middle of COVID. There was no no wait and much social distancing. I had x-rays and cleaning prior to Dr. Shluper examine my teeth. I must say I do not like going to the dentist but my experience was very smooth and I had no anxiety as Dr. Shluper provided me with knowledge on how to keep my gums and teeth healthy.

Dr Shluper and his friendly and professional staff made my 92 year old father and me feel very comfortable . Dr.Shluper is a sincere and kind man. He is thorough yet conservative in his approach. He is a trustworthy dentist and you can tell he is not going to do something unless it is necessary. We now have a wonderful dentist we can trust . Thank you Dr.Shluper.

Dr. Shluper is wonderful. He doesn't judge you coming in and just lays out what he needs to do. He accommodates coming in at odd day/times when necessary. His office is new and clean and right off Rte. 46 so he is conveniently located. He is considerate and nice for us people who are scaredy-cats and don't like pain at all! Not pushy with doing more and more work right away. His front-office person "Shondidi(?)" is a pleasure to work with. A nice change from most doctors' offices. In a nutshell, Dr. Shluper is a great dentist. I highly recommend his practice!
