Being a Master with the Academy of General Dentistry might sound fancy, but the effort necessary to achieve this distinction is why it carries so much weight in the dental world. Dr. Witek obtained it by taking over 1,100 hours of continuing education, which is a feat less than 2% of all dentists in the U.S. and Canada have completed. Basically, when youre in the chair with Dr. Witek, a gorgeous smile and comfortable experience are all but guaranteed.

When Dr. Witek was in high school, he would ask the school bus driver to drop him off at the dentists office, which was on the way home. He was always the last scheduled patient of the day! Being an inquisitive person, Dr. Witek would ask the very patient and kind dentist a million questions about the field during these visits. Over time, he saw firsthand how nice it was to be able to positively affect peoples lives while also being self-employed and owning your own business. Plus, dentistry complemented his artistic nature and love of working with his hands. The idea stuck with him, and he soon found himself pursuing the career himself! All these years later, hes never regretted that decision.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Washington and Jefferson College, Dr. Witeks educational journey took him to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he completed his DMD. He is also extremely proud to have attained the title of Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. This professional designation reflects a dentists ongoing commitment to providing quality care through continuing education. Dentists who have achieved Mastership status must have a total of at least 1,100 hours of approved continuing education, 600 of which must be in specific disciplines of the dental field. Of the 142,000 dentists in America, only a little over 2,000 have attained this distinction.

Today, Dr. Witek is very involved in the dental world on the local, state, and national levels. Locally, he is a past-president of the Fayette County Dental Society and also serves as its Treasurer, Secretary, and Program Chairman. He co-founded the Fayette County Orthodontic Study Club and has lectured locally to professional and civic groups about general dentistry.

State-wide, Dr. Witek is the past-president of the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry and has also served as its membership chair and parliamentarian. He has been the featured speaker for their Winter Caribbean Seminar Series. He has lectured at both the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and the West Virginia School of Dental Medicine.

On a national basis, Dr. Witek has served on the Examination Council of the Academy of General Dentistry in Chicago and as the chairman of the Self-Assessment Committee, where he created quizzes for publication in the Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry. These quizzes tested the dentists overall knowledge and kept them current on new topics in the field. He currently still serves as a manuscript reviewer of articles that are submitted for publication.

Dr. Witek has been happily married to Mary Claire for over 45 years, and together, they have three adult children and six grandchildren. Their daughter is an orthodontist in Beverly Hills, CA, the oldest son is a radiation oncologist at the University of Maryland, and the youngest is employed with a real estate management firm in Raleigh, NC.

Mary Claire has been married to her wonderful husband, Dr. Witek, for over 45 years. Together, they have three very successful children, five granddaughters, and one grandson. When she isnt busy at the dental office, her hobbies include playing tennis, doing needlework, reading, and baking. She makes the best pierogies and apple pie known to mankind!

Originally from Merrittstown, Diane studied at the University of Pittsburgh. Early in her career, Diane worked at a periodontal practice in Philadelphia. Today, her career in dentistry spans over 32 years, with most of that time spent right here at Dr. Witeks dental office. The best thing about her job is getting to watch each patient transition from an unhealthy smile to a newfound confidence and improved wellbeing.

Diane has two wonderful daughters who are both bright, pretty, and an absolute joy to be around. One is well-versed in the arts, while the other is very athletically inclined. As for personal hobbies, she really enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, and attending local chorale events, volleyball games, and basketball games. She LOVES laughing too!

Emily has been working in the oral healthcare field for nearly 15 years so far. Originally from Belle Vernon, she completed her education at Westmoreland Community College. Today, what she enjoys most about her position is that our patients feel just like family! Seeing them so happy with their new smiles is always rewarding.

At home, Emily has a wonderful husband, two gorgeous boys named Owen and Lucas, and a dog named Rocky. Theyre a very tight-knit family that loves spending time together, whether theyre walking the dog or taking group bike rides together. As for personal hobbies, she enjoys shopping with friends, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.

Amy is an animal enthusiast and volunteers at her local animal shelter in her spare time. She also has 3 cats and 2 dogs of her own. A few other hobbies she enjoys are drawing, photography, swimming, video games, and any outdoor activities that allow her dogs to tag along.
