Dr. Edward Jang grew up in the Bay Area (Orinda) and attended University of Pacific for both undergraduate and dental education. In practice since 1989 in the East Bay area, Dr. Jang strongly believes in constantly striving to perfect all aspects of his dental practice through continuing education of all his team members as well as himself. For example, Dr. Jang and his team members recently attended the latest continuing education courses offered by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Jang finds these courses inspiring because they allow him to refine his already extensive knowledge to ensure that he continues to offer the best possible service to his patients. Currently, Dr. Jang is especially interested in custom smile designs to assist each of his patient's achieve his or her life goals with a healthy and beautiful smile.
Dr. Jang is a board member of the Contra Costa Dental Society. He is also certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry and a member of the following organizations: American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentists, and California Dental Association.
Recently, I received the honor in being invited as one of the Visiting Faculties Members for the world-renowned Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Education (SIADE). Dr. Frank Spears (SIADE founder) has invited myself and several other SIADE members in his efforts to advance the level of dentistry being delivered to patients today. ( speareducation.com )
Dr. Jang's hobbies include S.F. 49ers, Cal. Berkeley football and basketball, cars and photography. Dr. Jang is also a devoted father, husband and son. Outside his work, Dr. Jang spends as much time as possible with his family. His sons keep Dr. Jang constantly challenged and entertained with their various antics.
Dr. Johnson is dedicated to providing the highest quality of dentistry to her patients by staying up to date on the latest dental technology (i.e. CEREC same day crowns) and attending continuing education courses. She strongly believes in the importance of patient education and preventative dental care.
Dr. Johnson is an active member of the Contra Costa Dental Society, California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Johnson loves to give back to her community, participating in CDA Cares, Give Kids a Smile and Special Olympics dental service events. She has also attended dental mission trips in Bolivia and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Johnson loves to cheer on all Bay Area teams including the Golden State Warriors, 49ers, Oakland Athletics, and San Jose Earthquakes. In her spare time, she plays indoor soccer with her husband and explores new hiking trails in the area. She also loves spending time with her 1 year old black lab, Brux, who she loves to spoil rotten!!!

Over the years,I have grown with the Practice anddiscovered thatI amtrulypassionate about this Practice and the profession of dentistry. I view my job as ensuring that this Practicecontinues to deliver outstanding, personalized, and comfortable care to our patients via utmost attention to detail. I have been in the dental field since 1993 and I joined Dr. Jang's team in 2001. Being in the dental profession has brought a great deal of fulfillment especially in being able to offer our patients many financial options to meet their dental goals and transform their smiles. Three years ago, Dr. Jang transformed my smile by creating a beautiful eight set veneer case for me. I feel fortunate to work with a team of doctors that is 100% committed to patient care. As a result, I make sure to maintain my knowledge in this field relevant and up to date by attending several continuing education courses every year. In the last few years I have attended courses with the California Dental Association (CDA), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. My commitment to patient care inspires me to pursue education in this evolving field in order to offer our patients a variety of choices for their dental treatment. I am a busy mother of three children and have been happily married for thirteen years. In my spare time, I love to cook and some of my specialties include: the rosemary roasted chicken with red potatoes, cilantro rice and asparagus, crab/oyster stuffed mushrooms, and flan or peach cobbler.
I joined the team in January 2006. I graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at Diablo Valley College in 1988. I have been in the dental field since I was 16 and am still enthusiastic about dentistry. I also find all the high-tech touches in our office fascinating. I am a mother to two busy teenagers. I am also a devoted San Francisco Giants fan and I love taking trips to Disneyland.
Jasmine has worked in the dental field since 2010. She graduated from the Diablo Valley College Dental Hygiene Program in 2015. She also holds a Bachelors in Health Science from CSUEB, c/o 2013. She is a member of the CDHA since 2014. She and her husband have 2 active boys. She loves food and collecting gemstone crystals and minerals.
I graduated with my dental assisting degree from Contra Costa College. I started here as an intern and worked my way up to be a team member. I have now been here for 5 years and love working with my team. I enjoy being part of this team and being able to grow in this field and expand my knowledge through continuing education. I have attended continuing education courses in San Diego, Atlanta, and Scottsdale and am looking forward to more. I am passionate about what I do and enjoy being able to best serve our patients. I love dancing and spending time with my family. I also enjoy the outdoors and anything that sparks my interest and I am determined to live my life to the fullest!
Graduating from Bryman College, I began working at Dr. Jangs as an extern. Now, as a full-fledged registered dental assistant for 5 years, my dedication to the dental field continues to grow. I first fell in love with dentistry because of the immediate and sincere interaction with patients, along with the relationship that cultivates throughout. But ultimately, the field of dentistry fascinates me as it provides daily opportunities to mature and develop as a character; it bestows challenges for me and for this office as a team. Working here at Dr. Jangs has certainly been a perfect growing environment, as it will, no doubt, assist me with my future aspirations. I am currently taking courses to fulfill the prerequisites that are required for me to become a dental hygienist. On my spare time, I enjoy cooking, hanging out with friends, working out, and spending time with my dog.
I have been in the dental field for 13 years. To increase my knowledge and skills as a dental assistant I attended UCSF in 2001 where I received my certificate as a RDAEF 2. To keep up with the latest skills and technology, there are many courses that I have participated to continue my knowledge and thirst for dentistry. I love my job and what I do because I get to help patients achieve their goals in obtaining a better and a healthier smile. In my spare time when I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my 2 children and as well with friends and family.
Insurance and Billing We accept most insurance plans. Unlike most dental offices these days , we still do our best to optimize your insurance benefits for you. We are a preferred provider in many major dental insurance plans. Even if we are not a preferred provider, you can still choose us and we can and will still process your insurance forms for you (except for Medical). If we are not a preferred provider in your plan, we ask that you pay for your services at the time of the visit and the insurance check (if any) will go directly to you. If we are a preferred provider, we accept assignment of benefits from your insurance, but we do ask that you pay for your estimated co-pay portion at the time the service is rendered. Should there be a credit in your account after your insurance plan pays, we will either refund the co-pay to you or apply the amount toward other services, whatever you prefer. If you have any questions, we will be happy to assist you in anyway possible.

Dr Jang and Associates have been my dental provided for many years now. While visiting the dentist is not on my short list of fun things to do, the experience here is always positive. Yesterday Dr. Johnson and Jennifer replaced a crown for me. They were both so friendly and professional and caring and made the procedure almost enjoyable. My wife and I are loyal patients and recommend this practice.

There was a time when a toothache was a nightmare but going to the dentist was worse. No more. Since I discovered Dr. Jang's office, I've stopped worrying. The atmosphere of the office is pleasant and comfortable. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful, from the normal hygienist appointment (Becky is a sweetheart) to the way the rest of the office goes into action when a big piece of filling comes out of a front tooth. Apart from a little discomfort from numbing the tooth, I could probably have slept through the whole process, except when I needed to open wider or rub the repaired tooth against the lower one to help them shape the repair to match. Altogether a quick, painless morning and a nicer smile.

In spite of the Covid disruptions, they made a timely appointment for me, examined the tooth and the escaped filling, determined that there had been no damage, and cemented it back in place. Another reason to be thankful for my dentist and his efficient, gentle staff.

My quarterly (dental) spa visit. I love getting pampered in the chair. It's like a mani-pedi for my teeth! I get complimentary candy in the form of bubblegum-flavored tooth polish, and a fluoride-infused cocktail to finish it off. (But I'm not supposed to swallow it.)

I had a dental emergency. I was checked in right away even if I dont have an appt. Was seen by Dr.Johnson right away. The staff esp. Stacy and Angela was very patient and gentle. And went above and beyond to help me setup soonest appt. With a endodontist around the area. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

i have been going to this dental office for years and i always received an excellent service. Friendly staff & they go above & beyond their customer service. For example: in my last visit two days ago, i need to be referred for root canal to another dentist & behold....they did all the work for me! the staff contacted the referral dentist, set up an appt for me while i'm still at dr. jang's office, they provided the new dentist my insurance info as well as gave me my reminder note in case the referral dentist does not provide an appointment reminder. where can you find such excellent service like that. Normally, other dentist or doctor's office will just hand me a referral note & i had to make the call & set up the appointment myself.

Dr Jang and his office is AWESOME! Everyone is so friendly. I have been going to Dr. Jang for years, partly through my late teen years, then life changed for me (benefits and my employment) I stopped going to him. Went to another dentist for convenience reasons (I worked in the City), and I did not like that dentist. When I got married (in 2009), my benefits change and immediately I thought of Dr. Jang and how great he was. I ran back to Jang. And boy, I am glad I did. He remembered me too! After all those years! I referred my husband to see Jang too, and was VERY pleased with everything - Jang, his Associate, the staff. They all know him and adore him. Hubby makes them happy because they make him happy. Dr. Jang's admin staff is great too, they really work throughly with the insurances to make sure our dental work is afordable. They have a great referral plan too! If anyone has anything bad to say about Jang and his staff, something might be wrong with them because, the friendly staff, the professionalism, the years of experience Dr. Jang has, is well worth the visits. What I appreciate the most about Jang, and that he really takes his time with me. He's very personable, and that is very important. Only negative thing I would say is I hate that the nitrous cost 100 dollars, and won't be covered by my insurance. People like me (w/hyperactive nerves) really need it for major work, I have Fibromyalgia so feel everything being done to me, and it worse than the average person who can take a little pain. The Nitrous w/ the numbing stuff really help die down the pain. Don't know how but it does. Seems like people do not understand that. And that sort of bothers me. Other than that, Jang & Associates is AWESOME!
