Dr. Eduardo Correa (Dr. Eddie to the little ones!), has been serving the Orange County area for over 9 years. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and his combined Pediatric Dental Specialty training at University of Southern California (USC) and hospital training at Childrens Hospital, Orange County (CHOC).

Dr. Correas goal is to harbor a life-long relationship of trust and promote the oral health care of children in his practice as well as in the community through volunteering and child advocacy. He is a strong promoter of early prevention and education in a warm and compassionate setting that meets the individual needs of his patients and families.

In addition to his pediatric dental practice, Dr. Correa serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Section of Pediatric Dentistry at USC. In that position, he teaches second-year pediatric residency specialists in the areas of hospital dentistry, sedation management, and clinical practice. Dr. Correa holds staff hospital privileges at CHOC and at St. Josephs Hospital in Orange, CA. as well as Kaiser Permanente- Orange County.

Dr. Correa has passed the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry written exam and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Orange County Dental Society, and American Dental Association.

  • Named an Agent of Change by the Children and Families Commission of Orange County and was featured in OC Family Magazine for his contributions teaching dental residents as well as working with under-served and impoverished children at the Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County clinic in Garden Grove, CA.
  • Dr. Tracy Tran is a Michigan native who was drawn to Southern California by its sunshine and vibrant culture. She first landed here when she attended dental school at the University of Southern California. After graduation, Dr. Tran went on to complete a 1-year General Practice Residency at the University of Toledo Medical center (UTMC). There, she received additional training in all aspects of dentistry, with an emphasis in oral surgery. During the following two years, Dr. Tran continued her specialty training in pediatric dentistry, while completing her Master's in Biomedical Science through the Graduate Medical Education at UTMC. Dr. Tran is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

    Since being in private practice, Dr. Tran has taken a keen interest in pediatric tethered oral tissue (TOTs) and its relationship with orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs), including infant nursing, feeding and swallowing, speech articulation, and pediatric sleep disordered breathing. She has successfully treated these patients through a collaborative team approach.

    Dr. Shah grew up in Orange County and received his Bachelor of Science from UCLA in 2003. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of California, San Francisco in 2007. In June 2009, he completed a 2-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Schneider Childrens Hospital in Queens, NY.

    Dr. Shah serves on the faculty of both University of Southern California and University of California, Los Angeles Schools of Dentistry. Most recently, he spends time working at Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, training residents and treating an underserved population.

    Dr. Shah completed his specialty board certification and is a Diplomate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Shah currently holds active membership with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Orange County Dental Society.

    Dr. Shah enjoys educating children and their parents about proper dental care and maintenance for a beautiful healthy smile. He wants to create positive experiences, making your children feel safe and comfortable.

    Dr Mark Ortega is a Southern California native. Like Dr. Eddie and Dr. Imoto, he graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr Mark attended University of Washington for his pediatric residency and received hospital certification from Seattle Children's Hospital.

    Away from the office, Dr Mark enjoys traveling, hiking, golfing, and following his favorite sports teams (Go Rams!). Dr Mark especially enjoys learning about ocean life and snorkeling whenever he can. Teaching is a passion for Dr. Mark and since graduation is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Clinical Instructor at UCLA School of Dentistry teaching future doctors.

    Dr. Mark holds active memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Hispanic Dental Association.

    I grew up in San Juan Capistrano and after high school I headed north to Santa Clara University where I received my B.S. in Psychology. After completing my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Tufts University in Boston, I returned to Southern California and Loma Linda University where I received my Master of Science degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

    I am truly blessed to be an orthodontist. I love interacting with patients of all ages and I enjoy seeing the beneficial changes that our treatment brings into their lives. I am excited to be joining Dr. Eddies team to bring beautiful healthy smiles to both children and adults alike!

    My husband and I have two wonderful sons, James and John, and a golden retriever named Gus. When Im not in the office, I enjoy many activities including exercising, golfing, biking, hiking, reading, attending yoga classes, and knitting.

    I graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles. Continuing the proud Bruin tradition, I completed my professional education and received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry (same year as Dr. Eddie!). Upon graduating, I pursued my general practice residency at University Medical Center in Fresno, California. The following year, I moved to Philadelphia to do my orthodontic residency and receive my Master in Oral Biology from Temple University. I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and American Dental Association.

  • In addition to dental school, Dr. Correa has undergone an additional dentistry residency in order to earn the specialization of pediatric dentistry. In other words, he is trained to care for children from infancy to adolescence much like a pediatrician. Many dentists at kids dental practices may not have graduated from an accredited pediatric dental specialty program.
  • Our office offers the latest in sedation options and hospital dentistry. We know that sometimes, kids have a tough time with dental procedures. To that end, we office various services to help them get through their procedures in the most comfortable way possible.

  • Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) Nitrous oxide is an odorless, colorless gas that is mixed with oxygen and is a mild inhalation sedative. This gas is administered via nasal mask that is used to calm dental anxiety for a mildly fearful child and to promote a more positive dental experience.
  • Oral Conscious Sedation Oral sedation is syrup medication that is used to alleviate more moderate dental anxiety or for a child who has special needs. There are many different types of oral medications that can be prescribed and tailored to meet your childs specific dental treatment and extent of anxiety.
  • General Anesthesia Services General anesthesia is indicated for our severely anxious or apprehensive children or those who have extensive dental decay to protect their developing psyche. Our office provides for both the option of in-office or hospital general anesthesia. Many times, medical insurances will authorize and cover the anesthesia in the hospital setting for the purposes of extensive dental decay and/or for medical indications. Dr. Correa holds hospital privileges and performs dentistry services for both healthy children and those with special needs at Childrens Hospital Orange County.
  • Our office provides for both the option of in-office or hospital general anesthesia. Many times, medical insurances will authorize and cover the anesthesia in the hospital setting for the purposes of extensive dental decay and/or for medical indications.
  • Our office is focused on preventing dental issues by preventative dental care. This means that we start seeing children early in life, and continue to build relationships with them until they reach adulthood.

  • Our office as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and American Academy of Pediatricians recommend having a childs first dental exam occur when the first tooth erupts and no later than one year of age.
