Dr. Kris Kim grew up in the greater Seattle area and attended Meadowdale High School. She went on to receive her undergraduate education from University of Washington and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.
Dr. Kim received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Washington. She graduated among the top of her class, and while in dental school she received academic scholarships from Omikron Kappa Upsilon (Dental Honor Society) for ranking #1 in her dental class.
Following dental school, Dr. Kim was accepted into the orthodontic residency program at St. Louis University, where she did her masters research on soft tissue profile esthetics using 3D imaging. After earning her Master of Science in Dentistry degree for orthodontics, Dr. Kim returned home to the Pacific Northwest where she feels privileged to be providing orthodontic care in the same community that she grew up in. During her free time, Dr. Kim enjoys hiking, bicycling, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
Dr. Paula Ohara was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she completed her dental school education at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), one of the top 10 dental schools in the world. After graduating dental school, Dr. Ohara pursued her dream of becoming an orthodontist. She moved to Boston where she obtained her Masters of Science and Certificate of Orthodontics at Boston University. After graduating, two of her mentors at Boston University referred her to a practice in Washington.
She fell in love with living in our beautiful state, where she has accumulated almost 10 years of experience in private practice. She truly believes that she is in the most rewarding profession and considers herself extremely lucky to be able to do what she loves. In her spare time, Dr. Ohara enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends an orthodontist should evaluate children at the age of seven. This visit will provide information regarding your child's skeletal growth pattern, dental development, as well as to advise parents on ideal treatment timing. Usually by age seven, the first permanent molars and incisors have erupted sufficiently to allow the orthodontist to evaluate for crossbites, crowding, and skeletal problems. When treatment is begun early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth.

If you need orthodontic services this is an amazing place to go. I worked with them for a little over a year since I wanted to fix a small issue after having normal braces when I was younger. My orthodontist was so understanding of my needs and came up with an amazing treatment plan for me. The staff is SO nice and always willing to work with you. I 100000000% recommend this place to anyone!

The staff at Edmonds Orthodontics really makes the difference. The expertise in care along with their willingness to listen to or concerns help create a plan for our daughter that worked for our needs. Everyone there is always so nice and go beyond what is needed to make sure our family has been taken care of. It is the little things (accomodating schedules, extremely friendly staff) and the big things (helping us stay on top our accounts, our daughter's comfort with every procedure) that make us appreciate Edmonds Orthodontics. We will be singing their praises for a very long time!

Where do I begin? I usually don't post reviews but you know a place is worth it, when they're that good! I've been seeing Dr. Ohara and Dr. Kim for a little over 3 years now and I can only say good things about them! I initially started with invisalign, then transitioned into braces, then back to invisalign and then braces again! I had a lot of issues with my teeth prior to getting both treatment plans due to canine extractions and wisdom teeth etc. However, both Doctor Ohara and Dr. Kim made sure to inform me of each and every step along the way. Dr. Ohara and Dr Kim are both so kind, knowledgable, patient and really work on finding a solution for you and not just sell a service to their clients. Everytime I go in, I feel like I'm in good hands. I didn't want to "graduate" from their clinic! You can clearly tell that they know what they are doing and people feel safe there since everytime I try to book an appointment, they are always booked up! 3 plus years later and my teeth are looking straight and beautiful and I couldn't have found a better orthodontic clinic. But, lets not forget the wonderful ladies working behind that desk that help make Edmonds Orthodontics run smoothly! Dawn: She has been there for years and years and she is honestly the sweetest lady you will ever meet! She is always making sure you are followed up with, asks how you are doing on a personal level, organized and works extremely hard to accommodate to your needs and is honestly overall a wonderful, wonderful individual. We need more people like her in the world! Sherin: I have seen some office ladies come and go but Sherin has so far set the bar and expectations very high! To be frank, I didn't want to post a review for her because someone might read this and try to steal her from Dr. Ohara and Dr. Kim and hire her somewhere else! She is that good! Not only is she beautiful on the inside and outside but she honestly makes my day. She is always smiling and cheerful and that energy rubs off onto you! She is very efficient, funny, knowledgable, meticulous, hardworking and is always striving to make sure your needs are met. The list of compliments can go on and on for Sherin. My experiences here have been nothing shy of 5 stars! I will honestly say they are like family at this point to me. Even though I've graduated, I know I can always go visit them and not feel awkward or bothersome. It makes me wonder if I should stop wearing my night time retainers just so I can go back for treatments to get braces again! Just kidding! But seriously please check this place out! You will not regret it!

I am beyond grateful to Edmonds Orthodontics! Edmonds Orthodontics is just phenomenal. It doesn't matter how old you may be or what stage in your life you may find yourself in, it's never too late to get the smile of your dreams! I would highly recommend the entire Edmonds Ortho. staff for anyone looking into getting Orthodontic treatment done. Sherin and Dawn are so pleasant to speak to over the phone and even better to converse with in person. They're professional and super accommodating whenever I needed to reschedule or coordinate my appointments with my dental office. Dawn was able to break down the cost of the treatment and was transparent and clear throughout the entire course of my treatment. Some great Orthodontic Assistants work at Edmonds Ortho, but I've had the distinct pleasure of working alongside Shareen the Orthodontic Assistant for most of my treatment. She's kind, knowledgeable, gentle, and works quickly and efficiently. Last but not least, Dr. Kim and Dr. Ohara, these two doctors work great alongside one another. They did an amazing job explaining every phase of my treatment to me and of course, addressed any concerns I had along the way. I've completed my treatment now and have just been in love with my new smile. I don't shy away from pictures, or avoid speaking in social gatherings with friends or family; they definitely helped me in getting the smile of my dreams. Thank you so much Edmonds Orthodontics.

My now 15 year old began treatment in 2019, his teeth were very crowded, when he would smile many teeth didn't show or were sideways. After looking at different offices and their reviews, we chose Edmonds Orthodontics because they were the best we found, nice when we had our consultation and close to where we lived. Every single team member was kind and caring with him throughout the journey, always ready to answer any questions, acomodate us once we moved faraway. My son now has the most perfect smile, all his teeth are straight, it's truly just perfect! Today was the day I finally got my braces removed and I must say I am VERY happy with the results. I started my "braces journey" with Edmonds Orthodontics in the beginning of 2020. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and very kind. I knew having braces was going to be a long journey, but being with them I was always at ease with the process. Additionally, their office is very clean, the music is always amazing, and the team is the best in the city. If you have any questions or concerns about your own orthodontic journey, this is the place to start. You will not regret choosing them. Shoutout to Shareen, Polly, and the Doctors. You guys are amazing. :)

My daughter just wrapped up the 1st phase of her braces. It's been an absolute pleasure coming here. Everyone has been really kind and professional and worked really well with my daughter to try to make her feel comfortable and alleviate any worries. We will definitely be coming back here in the future for our other kids too if they end up requiring braces!

Dr. Kim and Dr. Ohara are absolutely wonderful! They are kind and caring, and most importantly know what they are doing! I was always very self conscious of my teeth so braces treatment is something I decided on as an adult. As an adult, they made the experience wonderful without taking any shortcuts and while looking out for my best interest in the long run so we would finish my treatment with a smile I would love. 10/10 recommend these ladies to anyone, any age, who is considering orthodontic treatment.

Edmonds Orthodontics was the best choice I made for my treatment. I'd been wanting to get my alignment sorted, and in this environment they went above and beyond to help me attain that goal. Dr Ohara and her Team were very knowledgeable and up front about all the steps for my treatment. Shereen was also wonderful in answering my questions when I had them, and the Staff were always nice to me at every visit. Using the Dental Monitoring App was also a great tool for communication and monitoring progress + They also really helped to work around my schedule for Appointments. I very much appreciated their flexibility for my work. I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking the best professional advice. They will help you get the best results!

My dentist initially referred me to Edmonds Orthodontics. I didn't have terrible bites but I didn't like my tooth profile for years. It really bothered me and I finally decided to start my braces. Both Dr. Kim and Dr. O'Hara are professional. All employees are friendly and helpful. I had my braces for three years and just got them off last month before my birthday. I'm so happy about this. My friends all noticed the change of the my tooth profile. I would definitely recommend this place!

My daughter has been a Patient here since she was 4-5 years old. She is 10 now. They have always been friendly and professional. With paying out of pocket, they were accommodating with giving different options. The office is not a convenient location for us since we've moved but, we would not take her anywhere else. I just love them! So welcoming and it's a beautiful office.
