Dr. Mahoney began her dental career in Arizona in 1990 as a pediatric dental assistant, working for her father. After 8 years of general and pediatric dental assisting, she went to college to become a dental hygienist and graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, in 1998. After graduation, a job opportunity took her to Luzern, Switzerland, where she practiced dental hygiene for 3 years.
After moving back to the states for dental school, she graduated, with honors, from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She went on to complete a competitive residency at The University of Nevada School of Medicine. During her residency, she received intensive training in general dentistry, hospital dentistry, implant dentistry and sedation. Upon completion of residency, she and her husband, who works in emergency medicine, moved to Washington to be close to family.
Washington is her final home, but through her many moves and travels she has gained life experiences. She feels that these experiences make her able to communicate and work with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Besides her work in private practice, Dr Mahoney also spent years as a clinical instructor for dental students. She says that she loves being a dentist because it allows her to help improve a persons health and smile. She finds it rewarding to get to know her patients and really understand their individual expectations and desires in regards to their oral health.
In my spare time, I love cooking, knitting, sewing, gardening and being active. I live in Edmonds with my husband of 36 years. We have 2 daughters and 2 grandkids. I look forward to seeing you in the office!
My family are big campers and love to take our RV and boat on big adventures around the pacific northwest and entire United States! We are also big soccer fans and all play and enjoy watching the Sounders!

I have dental anxiety and had to get my first crown. Dr. Mahoney and her team were very friendly and understanding and did whatever they could to make me more comfortable. I really appreciate the kindness and efforts from them. Something I absolutely dreaded was a whole lot easier than I expected. Thank you!!

Couldn't have asked for a better dentist office for myself and my family. The office itself is always very clean . The staff is wonderful from the check in desk to the staff in the back. They are all very attentive , helpful and professional people. This office and staff "5" stars all around !

As a person with a history of trauma and severe dental anxiety, this office was not the one for me. The final straw was Dr. Mahoney's frustrated remarks of "why don't you trust me!?! I would have thought you'd trust me by now!" And "I've never had a patient react as poorly as you" after I suffered yet another panic attack while in her care. It is quite clear that although she claims to be great with patients with dental anxiety, she has little to no training with respect to trauma informed care. She always tried to do the bare minimum for pain control, even though it was noted in my chart through numerous appointments that I don't respond as well as most to numbing and need additional anesthetic in my mouth. I am also now having to have her work repaired and corrected after less than 3 years because her fillings are not holding. My dental anxiety has never been worse than after being under Dr. Mahoney's care. If you are someone with a trauma history who is extremely sensitive to dental work, I do not recommend this clinic.

I had to switch Dentists due to change in insurance so I was a little nervous considering I'd been with the same dentist for so long but was so impressed with Theresa from the beginning over the phone, she was so kind and helpful. Nice, clean office, Theresa and Karen were very welcoming. Tanya and Dr. Mahoney were great! Highly recommend!

I've always dreaded the dentist ... until I came to Mahoney Family Dentistry! The facility here is always immaculate and the staff are just incredible people. It only took me 26 years to find a dentist that I actually look forward to going to!

I'm terrified of the dentist, but I've trusted Dr. Mahoney with the majority of my dental procedures. The hygienists have all been gentle, thorough and friendly, the front office is great, always on top of appointment reminders and clear about payment options. Dr. Mahoney herself is fantastically skilled and warm (especially when I'm freaking out about every minor dental detail). I couldn't recommend this office more.

Live close and researched for a new dentist to replace my old one of on the east side. Positive reviews on site led me to change to this dentist with my wife. We have been there a year now and Dr. Mahoney is awesome. The ladies cleaning are very gentle and caring. Dr. Mahoney is very personal. With Covid-19 they have implemented solid PPE and make sure everyone is safe. Highly recommend especially if dentist usually scare you like my wife. She is very relaxed going here.

Wow! Great experience. I first walked in and checked in. Went to the restroom and it was immaculate! Very clean and tidy and welcoming. Went to the lobby and snacks and refreshments were available and very tasty. Office layout was fantastic. There was even a TV I could watch while I was receiving my cleaning. Staff was amazing! Very friendly and very informative. Almost 40 years old and still learning tips and tricks I wish I had known long ago. I will be coming back and glad to have found my dental team. Thanks Mahoney's.
