As a kid growing up in Morris, MN, Dr. Edlund wanted to be a dentist. His family dentist was a kind, caring person who invited Steve to follow him for a day. By noon, Steve knew he had found his lifes work.
At Concordia College in Moorhead, and later at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Edlund was treated to amazing educators. These dedicated instructors reinforced Steves natural love for problem solving, which allowed him to love the tough classes. Organic chemistry and Calculus were some of his favorite courses, in large part because of the wonderful teachers.
Dr. Edlund dreamed of having a practice that would allow him to know his patients well, and to work with entire families. In 2008, he purchased the practice of the retiring Dr. Kath, who had established it over the prior 40 years. Dr. Kath is still a patient at Edlund Dental, and a favorite guest of the staff.
When hes not in the office, Dr. Edlund lives in St. Pauls lively Mac-Groveland area with his wife, Elisa. They enjoy their home and neighborhood. He bikes to work whenever possible, and appreciates the beautiful trails near the river.
But some of his best weekends, he says, are spent on the family farm in Morris, where he still participates in planting, harvesting and working the land. Home matters to Dr. Edlund. Thats why he wants his office to be a comfortable, pleasant home for his patients care.
Dr. McGraw grew up in Eagan, MN. She became acquainted with St. Paul while in college at St. Thomas University. Dr. McGraw earned her dental degree from Southern Illinois University and has spent the last 4 years practicing in Faribault, MN. After 8 years away from the Twin Cities, Dr. McGraw is excited to return home and join Edlund Dental.
Lydia has enjoyed working in the dental field for the past 20+yrs. She began her career as a dental assistant, and has now moved into the administrative side of the practice. Lydia finds much joy in building connections. In her words, the best part of working at Edlund Dental is getting to know our fabulous patients and making their visit as comfortable as possible. During her free time Lydia enjoys exploring Saint Paul and spending time with her family and friends.
Pam has been working with our patients for over 35 years. She started with Dr. Kath, and now enjoys working with Dr. Edlund. She loves what she does and it has rubbed off! Her daughter is a dental hygienist too and now works PT at Edlund Dental! Its important to Pam that patients fully understand their dental health and care. She is very proud to be part of the Edlund Dental team and shared we truly are friends who look forward to coming to work and doing our very best for our patients.
Liz has been a hygienist at Edlund Dental since 2019. Passionate about the work she does, and the patients she cares for, she is committed to learning new and better ways to improve her craft. Liz says that, Edlund Dental has given me an excellent professional environment centered on the basic principle of putting patients first. I believe in teamwork, and understand that patients are the most important member of this team.
Sterling grew up in the Elk River area, and received his hygiene training at the University of Minnesota. After having spent the last few years serving the Denver area, he is thrilled to return home to Minnesota. Sterling enjoys building meaningful connections with clients and Making a positive experience out of something the patient may be very apprehensive about.
Wonderful experiences with her family dentist near Fargo are what inspired Emily to enter the dental field. She values the relationships she builds with patients, and takes pride in doing all that she can to ensure they have great experiences at our office.
When not in the office Jewell is spending time with her husband cheering on her 3 kids at wrestling or basketball tournaments. Besides sporting events Jewell loves to rehab old furniture, upscaling, remodeling and decorating.
Lori is originally from the small town of Lodi, WI. Growing up, Lori loved going to the dentist. Her dentists fun and friendly personality inspired her to enter the dental field. She enjoys helping people and working with our caring team.

Like many others, I hate going to the dentist. The team here works so hard to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of. I trust them completely, and I will never go to another dentist.

I have consistently been going to Edlund Dental for years. I've never had a bad experience; all the staff are affable, engaged, and knowledgeable. Whether I'm going in for a standard checkup/cleaning, getting a cavity filled, or getting an old filling fixed (still thankful for the same day appointment for that one), I feel comfortable and confident I'll be well taken care of.

This place is just fantastic - can't recommend it enough! From the moment I spoke to someone on the phone I was treated with kindness and a high level of professionalism. Every individual who works there is SO kind and thoughtful. As for my hygienist, Sterling he is SO SO fabulous and makes me feel so cared for and safe when I go in for my visits - anyone who has the pleasure of him providing services to them will be beyond lucky. Both Dentists are also fantastic; they are transparent, gentle, open and thorough - I always feel like I have options and am an ongoing part of the care and treatment plan - this place is so great!

I've been looking for a new dental "home" for several years after a change in insurance. I've tried several other local practices, but think I've found "the one" after my appointment with Dr. Toftley and Sterling yesterday. They both were very welcoming and thorough, walking me through everything they were doing and making sure I was comfortable. They were both very personable and engaged. It was also my first dental appointment since COVID and I was very comfortable with their precautions and appreciative of the time they took with someone who had been off the "every 6 months" schedule. My teeth feel amazing today and I've happily made a return appointment.

my favorite dental office, a very good trustworthy skillful Dentist, and very pleasant and efficient assistants. I have been going to this dentist since he bought my previous dentist's practice, and very happy with his service. I am very particular about my teeth, so when I say I am happy with him and them, not giving the evaluation lightly. Its been about 30 years total, Dr. Edlund maybe 15... The only mystery is where does he find all these cheerful enthusiastic assistants? Is everybody in dentistry happy? If you care, I grew up in the 1950-60's when dentistry prevention was not very good, so I have had a lot of work done on my teeth. I only wish I had had Dr. Edlund then, maybe I would be in better shape now. If you are looking for a good dentist, you can't go wrong here.

The entire office is filled with the nicest people that ever were. I've had a consultation, a cleaning and two separate filling experiences and every experience was the same. Excellent. They are efficient and the result is top notch. I came here from a recommendation and I would recommend to anyone. Don't look any further, this is the best place.

Moving back to Minnesota, finding a caring and non-judgement dentist was important to me. I can say without a doubt this is the office to visit. Dr. Toftely, his assistant Emily (I believe) and Hygienist Liz were outstanding. Everyone from the front desk to the dentistry staff were professional, extremely kind and understanding. If you are reading this comment and are looking for a clinic stop now and book an appointment here. I will be continuing my dental care here as long as I'm in Minnesota. Additionally I want to give a special shout-out to Liz. I believe she went above and beyond in ensuring that I felt comfortable during my cleaning after a 3-4 year gap in dental care. Edlund dental is very lucky to have you!

I always recommend Edlund Dental to anyone looking for a dentist for the past five years. You will find a friendly staff starting at the front desk to the chair. I have gone to them twice during the COVID crisis and have felt safe going both times. They have been doing a great job following procedures and updating their technology to keep their staff and patients safe. They are very knowledgeable and don't force any up charges when you are there. I honestly wish I found them sooner! Thanks for being awesome and inspiring me to take better care of my teeth! They know how to do it right!

After a decade of silly adult life where nothing bad happens and we go to doctors or dentists during emergencies, I was excited to get back into the chair. Dr. Edlund's office and staff are professionals that treat you fairly; even if fairly means hey, "It's not my fault you didn't floss". In my opinion, if you want chompers in your 70s, you're gonna have to accept the kid gloves will come off and you'll feel sad for a bit. But then Dr. Edlund and his staff will get to work and give you the best they can with what they have. Professional. Funny. Comfortable. Safe. Visit them!
