I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school in South San Francisco, California and entered UC Berkeley with Honors at Entrance. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Zoology and enrolled into the dental program at UC Medical Center School of Dentistry in San Francisco, from which I graduated in 1971 in the top 10% of my class. I moved down to Orange Country, lured by the warm climate, a growing population and the challenge of a new environment. The fact that the weather was so conducive to playing tennis made the decision even more inviting. Besides a great love for tennis, I have recently been lured into the enticing and challenging game of golf.
I chose the field of general dentistry because I thoroughly enjoyed all of the phases of dentistry. Not only did I pursue the clinical aspects of dentistry with great vigor, but I also had an insatiable appetite for the educational courses as well. It did not take long before I enrolled in post-graduate programs which expanded my clinical skills in orthodontics and TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders. Both areas of expertise have been well received and greatly needed by my patients. My practice encompasses all aspects of cosmetic dentistry including full mouth rehabilitation. After nearly 40 years of orthodontics, we are now proud to offer FASTBRACES , a new highly efficient and fast orthodontic technique. Treatment is often completed in less than one half the time compared to conventional braces! I am also certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST) which corrects gum recession without incisions, sutures, or grafts! There is no longer a need to involve the palate as is often the case with the old technique.
I am an active member of the American Dental Association (Life Member), the California Dental Association, and the Orange County Dental Society. I am certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique, FASTBRACES, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Laser Dentistry. I am proud to say that I offer my patients uncompromised state-of-the-art dentistry, which is founded in both my thirst of knowledge and countless hours of continuing education.
I pay great attention to details and am always striving to maximize the aesthetics of each case. What better way to present yourself to the world and interact with your friends and loved ones than with the most attractive smile you can have!
Patricia is our full time hygienist (known fondly as Trish to all our patients). She sees you on a regular basis addressing your dental hygiene needs. She will always be assisting you in maintaining a healthy mouth and answering all your questions. If there are areas of concern that require more in-depth attention, she will bring those points to the attention of Dr. Louie. Diana is our part time hygienist. She will perform all the duties of the position just like Patricia.

Dr. Louie and his staff are the best example of true professionals. From Melissa in the front office to Patricia Jack, the hygienist, Dr. Louie has hired the best. Speaking of Dr. Louie, he is thorough, detailed and committed to patient satisfaction. You will not find a better dentist in Orange County. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Not all operations are attractive but Dr. Louie did a great job of making a root canal as painless as I have ever experienced. Great overview of options and smooth procedure.

Dr. Louie and his staff are true professionals. My family and I have been going to him for dental, ortho and some minor surgical needs for several years now. We've had the gentlest of cleanings and they use the most current, innovative treatments (ie. laser treatment). The front office is extremely friendly and professional and they always accommodate my schedule, which is tough because I live in another county. Yes, we travel that far for dentistry! We haven't had a need for it yet, but Dr. Louie also uses the most up-to-date techniques to rebuild your smile, if needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone!

Just now healing up from a recent upper Rt. rear molar extraction by Dr. Louie. I had not so fond memories of my past molar extractions that involved breaking the tooth, chipping and drilling. So, you understand, I wasn't looking forward to all of that agony again. But my experience with Dr. Louie was quite the opposite. He was able to extract the complete tooth without breaking it or drilling so I experienced very little trauma and no pain during the procedure. He also used a new technique of mixing some of my blood serum with bone to create a filler that went into the empty socket to facilitate healing. All of this went as he described pre- appointment. It's nice to go to a dentist who stays up to date with equipment and all the latest techniques and procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Edison Louie.

Edison is the best and kindest Dentist I've ever been to and I've been to a lot of them. I noticed he has one negative review and it happens to be from a person treated after hours on an emergency basis. Bite the hand of the one dentist who makes himself available for you emergency. Tell you what, Edison will be there for any of his patients or their friends 24/7. What's more, he is the most advanced dentist practicing today. From the use of lasers to disinfect the gum line prior to tooth cleaning to using lasers to repair receding gum lines on problem teeth - you just don't find people doing what he is doing. He even cured my snoring with his "Night -Lase" use of a laser to shrink the collagen in my palette and open up my breathing path. I was on the verge of having to wear a c-pap machine. How many dentists do you know could fix sleep apnea - without pain? He is simply, the best!

I am happy to rate Dr. Louie as Five Stars across the board! He is simply the best! Started with him over 40 years ago, and though we live in Arizona, my wife and I always make every effort to get to him when we need anything done. He has done crowns and laser fillings/builds/bonding or whatever else is needed. Never felt a pain in the chair either! My daughter and her husband go to Dr. Louie as well. I have had to go to dentists in Colorado and Arizona where we have lived for over 30 years, and there is NO ONE like Dr. Louie. We appreciate his up to date methods and technology, his friendly and efficient staff, and most of all his personal integrity, professionalism, and caring heart. He's got it all. Don't miss him if you're looking for a wonderful dentist!
