Dr. Jeanni R. Foss attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota to get her BA in both Chemistry and Biology in 1994. She went on to get her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota school of Dentistry. She then went on to practice in Cleveland, Ohio for 6 years, where she did several years of mobile dentistry work in nursing homes, psychiatric homes, disabled children facilities, and in private practice.In 2004, Dr. Foss moved back to Minnesota to open her practice, Edgewood Dental,in Baxter, Minnesota.
She is married, has four children and several pets.Her passion is photography, hiking, CrossFit, and gardening.She enjoys listening to stories her patients tell along with helping them achieve healthy, functional, and happy smiles.Her goal in the future is to improve the energy efficiency in her practice and produce less waste by recycling.

Dr. Victoria Severson was born and raised in Golden Valley, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota and received her Bachelor's degree in biology. She continued on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she graduated first in her class. Dr. Severson maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, and the Omicron Kappa Epsilon Honor Dental Society.
Dr. Severson enjoys all aspects of dentistry, allowing her to follow patients through their treatment needs. She places great importance in building connections with patients to help them feel comfortable and confident in their dental care. She believes in empowering patients to make well informed decisions about their dental treatment in order to achieve healthy and beautiful smiles.
Dr. Laura Snider was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Biology and also studied Spanish. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2017. Following dental school, she completed a year of general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center (Level 1 Trauma Center) in Minneapolis, MN where she had the opportunity to perform comprehensive dental treatment in the operating room on special needs patients, treat medically complex patients, and expand her oral surgery and facial trauma management skills.
During dental school, Dr. Snider enjoyed volunteering her dentistry and Spanish skills by traveling with Mission Save a Smile to Achutupu, Panama, where she and the team were able to treat hundreds of children with severely decayed teeth. She also spent time at the Union Gospel Mission, where free dental services are provided to the underserved community of St. Paul, MN. She hopes to continue community service throughout her career.
Dr. Lauras favorite part of dentistry is forming long-term relationships with her patients. She enjoys all facets of dentistry, from oral health education to the restoration and maintenance of a healthy smile of which the patient can be proud. She believes in the importance of continuing education and providing the best care to achieve the patients oral health needs. She is looking forward to embracing the community of Baxter.

My first time coming here and they were very professional, clean, and fun! Amy was a blast and left my smile feeling squeaky clean. I wish I could get them cleaned every month. Next appointment can't come soon enough!

Heard great things, but that was not my experience. They said I had eight cavities after having done my entire adult life. Two other dentist since then (without knowing what Edgewood said) have said I have no cavities. They said my son had a soft spot on his tooth, we got it filled and now he has pain in that tooth that he never had before. They were pretty pushy with other services as well. I would not recommend them.

Unfortunately updating my review now in 2022. After this practice moved to a new building and is growing into a bigger practice, the patient connection and service has decreased. One issue was a difficult time getting a retainer properly made. Several attempts at making the impression and the retainer was still not correct. I needed to go to another provider for a replacement for the proper fit. *Second* There have been times when I followed through with a recommended treatment here and wondered if it was necessary or a business revenue grab. *My final issue* to changing to a different dentist is the requirement of annual xrays. It does not matter what the customer reasons are nor what dental insurance will cover. I've confirmed in person and by email. Yearly Xrays are required here. I have checked elsewhere and all other dental practices I contacted in our area encourage but do not require annual xrays. It is a policy does not allow patient centered Healthcare choice.

Full disclosure: Dr. Foss is a colleague and friend. I am her patient for some laser treatments to help reduce my snoring. Dr. Foss is one of very few doctors in Minnesota trained to do this procedure. My first visit (there will be three total) went great ... I enjoyed meeting her staff, and as a fellow practice owner/dentist, was very impressed by their flow as a team as they took care of their patients. Highly recommend this office for anybody in the Brainerd/Baxter area or nearby!

Top notch staff from dentist's to reception. Building is state of the art, brand new. They give you treatment plans and work with insurance so there are no surprises. My 2 teenagers and I just transferred from another dentist and we couldn't be more happy with the switch.

Date of apt: 11/5/19 I sincerely love Edgewood Dental. Jenny Bessingpas, the Receptionist is always kind & welcoming! I never feel like a number, I always feel special. My dental hygienist is Karla and well I think she is hilarious and fun. She always has good stories to tell me. I enjoy my time in the dentist chair. Dr. Foss is my dentist and she has really helped my smile. About 7 years ago, before I had moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area I had a poorly done double root canal that followed a pretty traumatic mouth injury, which resulted in an infection. Dr. Foss walked me through how to fix it and I now walk around with a confident smile, and pain free. I also have switched over to a samsung diamond electric toothbrush which has done wonders for my gums and tarter build up. To me, going to the dentist is fun, almost in the same category as going to a spa. haha (perhaps I am weird that way). I just thought I would post my testimony and honestly recommend this dentist and her team.

I have been going to Edgewood Dental for 10 years. When I started going to Edgewood the staff were amazing and actually treated as if they cared. Over the last couple years it seems like their customer service is slowly declining. My last couple cleanings the Hygiensts have been very unprofessional and impatient. I was seen on 1/3/2020 for a filing, I asked the dental hygienist a question regarding the laser, she answered my question. The dental Hygienst and Dentist came in to see if I was numb and the Dental Hygienst stated "Dr. Foss has the laser" the Dentist stated "I don't need it." The dentist and the Dental hygienst proceeded to whisper behind the chair and then moved to the hallway and continued to whisper. Then when they came back in the dentist proceeded to tell me why I wasn't a candidate for the laser I said "I figured I'd ask about it. And her response was "yep we're constantly expanding our horizons we're hoping to get another one but they're costly." While they were working on the filing they were talking about staff of the gym they attend. Talk about degrading to a person who asked a question in an office where they are paying outrageous amounts of money (even with great dental insurance) and hoping to feel comfortable while they have one of the most important parts of our body taken care of. The staff here definitely needs to learn some bedside manner and professionalism. I will not be returning to this dental office and I do not recommend going here if you want to feel like a valued patient. Edgewood Dental seems to care only about their profit. The only thing Edgewood has going in their favor is Michelle and Megan in the office!

Had my first appointment at Edgewood this morning. Very friendly staff! Dr Jeanni Foss was the Best! I've had a few root canals at other clinics and Dr Foss did mine this morning. Absolutely no pain. Highly recommend Dr.Foss and Edgewood Dental Thank You So Much for getting me in quickly!

Found ourselves in the middle of a dental emergency on our vacation at the lake when my daughter took a hit to the mouth. 4th of July weekend of course while everywhere was closed. Dr. Foss answered the emergency call and met us at the office immediately to come to our rescue. Dr. Foss and her assistant were so kind and talked my daughter through the whole procedure. Highly recommend their office! Their kindness and willingness to help will be remembered.
