Those regular visits are positive experiences and my patients look forward to coming in and seeing the progress theyre making. At the same time, I get to see each person change and grow, and I see the impact that my skill and service have on their lives.
I grew up here in Brigham City and spent a lot of my youth helping my father. He was an orthodontist and I worked in his office. There has been an Andersen practicing orthodontics in the same office for nearly 70 years!
After graduating from Box Elder High School, I served on an L.D.S. mission to La Paz, Bolivia; I speak both Spanish and Aymara (an Indiana dialect). Returning to Utah, I graduated from the University of Utah with my Bachelors degree. This was followed by dental school, where I graduated Cum Laude with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Medical College of Virginia at the Virginia Commonwealth University.
Next came a post-doctoral fellowship and residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital of the Yale University School of Medicine. I then returned to the Medical College of Virginia, where I undertook a rigorous orthodontic residency and obtained my Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.
July 2022 will mark the start of my 32nd year of practice. Whats amazing, I think, is how I remain enthusiastic about my profession and, even more, the people I have the honor to get to know through their treatment.
I love getting to know my patients as individuals and appreciate all they bring to the office and my life. It is fulfilling to see a person, someone who has become a friend, blossom with happiness and confidence as they see the change in their appearance; I am fortunate as I see that happen every day!
Orthodontics is a constantly advancing specialty. I feel it is crucial to stay up-to-date with changing techniques and technologies in order to provide patients with the best of modern orthodontic care.
For example, we now rarely do traditional gloopy mouth impressions, because we have multiple 3D digital scanners. These digital images ensure the most detailed and accurate diagnostics, treatment planning, and treatment.
Continuing education (CE) keeps me at the forefront of the latest developments, trends, and emerging research. In addition to participate in study groups, I attend professional meetings and take a range of CE courses throughout the year.
If Im not in the office, and not with family, youll most often find me outdoors. I am an avid cyclist and runner, and have competed in many races and endurance events. I also love camping and hiking, mostly in and around Capitol Reef NP. I love college sports, as well, and am a University of Utah fanatic.
At this point I have coached every sport in the community. I was president of the Lacrosse Club and worked to get lacrosse accepted as a high school sport. I was also president of the Brigham City Recreation Commission and responsible for the construction of the community pool facility. Additionally, I was president of the Brigham City Main Street Commission, responsible for revitalization of our historic downtown, and am a long-term member and past-president of the Kiwanis Club. Oh, and I was a Scout Master for 20 years, too.
In my spare time, I recently wrote a book: Its Not About the Braces. It covers the clinical aspects of orthodontic treatment, along with the personal, reflecting my insight, experience, and genuine love and appreciation for my profession and those I serve.

When our teeth are healthy and straight, though, we are comfortable with our appearance and that grows our self-esteem. In turn, were at ease around others and our confidence is obvious in every wonderful smile we choose to share!
We have been honored to serve the community since 1991, changing the smiles and lives of children, teens, and adults. Now, 30 years later, we are thrilled to be seeing, and treating, the children and even some grandchildren of some of our first patients!

Edge orthodontics is the best. I've had all 5 of my kids either in braces or Invisalign from Edge. They are amazing to work with and really care about their patients.

So far so good! I get my braces December 1st and the process has been easy peasy so far. Edge has a fantastic staff with great customer service and Dr Anderson is very personable and is great at explaining the process!

My daughter originally went to get InvisAlign. Even though we got a MUCH cheaper quote for braces at another local orthodontist, she wanted the InvisAlign. So we paid the price. Well, her lifestyle at the time was difficult to maintain Invisalign, and she didn't wear them regularly enough. So, we paid the extra money to put brackets on her. For a few visits, she was berated for her failure with Invisalign, then was just given the cold shoulder by the previously kind, chipper doctor. Here we are, a year into the 2 year treatment plan, and 2 visits ago my daughter was about to get engaged. She asked what would be feasible, to not have braces for her wedding. She was told by the gal adjusting her braces that it would be inexpensive to have them off, keep the brackets, and put them back on. Then Dr Anderson told her on the same visit that she has made great progress and if she doubled up her bands she would be able to get them off the next visit. Next visit rolls around and he did a total 180 and said she would not be getting them off soon. Well, the wedding plans were in motion, and can't be changed now. So now they tell us it will be $900 to remove and replace brackets, or she can wear them for the wedding, or she can have them off and be done even tho she isn't done. They sent ever having said the things they said about getting them off. And to top things off, they coincidentally double billed us for that next payment, which also happened to complete payment of our plan. When I asked if that was done to satisfy payment before they figured they would remove them, they denied that and blamed the billing company, saying it was their mistake When I talked to the billing company, the "mistake" was all Edge Orthodontics, and was not the billing company at all! I can count on both hands, with no fingers left over, the number of lies they have told us in the past year. I don't know why they have such glowing reviews, but do yourself a favor and go with the less expensive option. BTW, the cheaper orthodontist in town (Blanchard) has done my other 3 kids' braces, and we have had FAR better experiences with them! No complaints so far with any, and 2 of them are done! Definitely save yourself the anger, agony, drama, and frustration, and go somewhere else.

My wife took our daughter in for a consultation for braces. The office staff, hygienist and orthodontist were all very kind to them and very informative. The atmosphere was very busy and wild, as the walls were decorated in graphiti. Which was unsettling to my wife and daughter. The price tag that was quoted to them seemed quite high, so we decided to get a second opinion with another orthodontist in town. The second orthodontist they went to quoted a much lower price tag, so we will be going with that orthodontist. Plus the atmosphere at the other orthodontist was much calmer and peaceful, which is a plus to us.

Dr. Anderson does quality work. His clients always end up having nice smiles. He is thorough in his diagnosis. He will give you a free consultation and evaluation, including X-rays. He is a positive person and always welcomes questions and concerns. The staff is also friendly, well trained and thorough.

Edge Orthodontics is the BEST place to Get your kids ortho! They are reasonably priced, they have fun incentives for the kiddos, and their staff is AMAZING!! I also love that they get your kid in and out quick with no wait time. This is my 2nd kid I've put braces on and we Edge Orthodontics!
