Eau Claire Family Dental - General dentist in Eau Claire, WI

Growing up in Wausau, WI,I knew from a very early age that I wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. Upon graduation from high school, I attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Biology. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After graduation from dental school, I practiced in Wausau and Chippewa Falls, WI. In 2013, I joined Eau Claire Family Dental and have been blessed with many wonderful patient friendships. It is truly an honor and privilege to help people in the Chippewa Valley achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. I believe in the relentless pursuit of excellence in esthetic dentistry, using the latest technology and highest quality materials. I have taken many continuing education seminars and workshops on anterior esthetic dentistry, smile and restorative design, TMJ/TMD and occlusion, root canal treatment, and the painless administration of anesthetic. I'm a member of a Spear Study Club, the American Dental Associationand Wisconsin Dental Association. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Pam and our wonderful children. It's a joy to watch them grow into the people they are becoming. I'm an avid outdoorsman with a passion for bow hunting and trout fishing. I'm adiehard fan of the Packers and Minnesota Wild.

Do not recommend and we are leaving their care. First, they laughed and made fun of my 3 year old and then lied about it when confronted. Second, Scheduled a cleaning that is covered by insurance. They did not clean as my 3 year old wouldn't allow it so instead they charged us $61 for "oral hygiene instructions" which is not covered. They refused to see how that is unfair to the patient. This is after prior to the appt we asked about him not letting them clean and they said to bring him in anyway.

It's loud and there's little to no privacy. There are no rooms, patients are put in open stalls. There are some cupboards to separate everyone but no walls so you can hear what everyone is in to get done along with their personal information.

Update: In response to this review, I received the letter below. I'm going to preface this by saying that I have been going to Eau Claire family dental for my entire life. In the past, they've always been kind, respectful of personal preferences, and accurate with their bookwork. Something changed. 1. That being said, my wife went in to get some fillings done, and on the onset of the appointment they told my wife that she would be likely paying a certain amount over the insurance cost. My wife agreed to everything, including a second filling which they did not tell us was not covered at all, and then I received the bill in the mail for more than double the amount stated. I also got information from my insurance that they had attempted to charge the extra amount to them. This was flat out negligence with having accurate estimates. The dentist was aware that we were struggling financially, and they were still inaccurate with what they communicated to us. I am aware that it is only an estimate, but more than double the amount?! Come on. You guys cannot be off that much in your estimates. We trusted you. When I called and talked to their receptionist, all she did was blame me for not knowing my insurance policy, which she was unaware that it had not been received in the mail yet. Even that aside, the point is, Eau Claire family dental was inaccurate in their estimates. She also said that it would be way too much work for them to look into what is covered and what is not prior to the appointment. What?! So let's just bill our patients extra instead. 2. My wife was pushed very hard to get X-rays at her appointment. I am not going to say publicly or not what my wife's private medical needs are, but if there were something that she needed to keep private, they were not respectful of it at all and pushed it very hard. There were reasons why my wife did not want radiation from the x-rays. After that, they were rude and randomly left my wife in the chair for a long period of time all alone without explanation. Did you think to stop and ask yourself why I was okay with the x-rays and my wife was not? After myself being over 20 years with Eau Claire family dental, my wife and I will be making an exodus.

In the past, they've always been kind, respectful of personal preferences, and accurate with their bookwork. Something changed. 1. That being said, my wife went in to get some fillings done, and on the onset of the appointment they told my wife that she would be likely paying $50 over the insurance cost. My wife agreed to everything, including a second filling which they did not tell us was not covered at all, and then I received the bill in the mail for $200. I also got information from my insurance that they had attempted to charge the extra amount to them. This was flat out negligence with having accurate estimates. The difference between $50 and $200 is astronomical. The dentist was aware that we were struggling financially, and they were still inaccurate with what they communicated to us. I am aware that it is only an estimate, but $200 versus $50?! Come on. You guys cannot be off that much in your estimates. We trusted you. Even that aside, the point is, Eau Claire family dental was inaccurate in their estimates. She also said that it would be way too much work for them to look into what is covered and what is not prior to the appointment. What?! So let's just bill our patients $150 extra instead. 2. New to town. Very friendly staff. Operations and technology are on point (they communicate with other staff using headsets)! Had one of the most thorough exams and cleanings that I can remember. Would definitely recommend to others.

I'm a new patient to the practice, and staff is wonderful and very pleasant. My hygienist, Anna was very well versed and communicated through my exam and answered any questions I asked. Dr. Fleming was also very informative and sensitive to my extremely low pain threshold. I'm very happy in finding them upon my return to the area, highly recommended.
