The team at Eastside Dental believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Eastside Dental work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Milwaukee area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Eastside Dental can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

When you take your child to the family dentist for the first time, your dentist will let you know that the best way to get the child to practice good oral hygiene is to get them started at an early age to help prevent the tooth decay that is common in children and to get

Still the best dentist I've ever been to. They gave me my perfect smile back in 2020 and I haven't let another dentist touch my teeth since. After a long 2 years without dental insurance it's nice to see familiar faces who are already accustomed to my situation. Will be back if my schedule permits.

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of the dentist, I can say the staff at Eastside is so welcoming and kind. First off the two front desk ladies were so kind when I first walked in. Then I was Lucky enough to have Rose. She took my x rays and helped the Dentist with my temp crown. She took the time to make sure I was comfortable and explained everything so well. Once the dentist came in he made sure to introduce himself and really talked me through what he wanted to do. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually looking forward to coming back in and getting my permanent crown on. I was in a lot of pain and called over 5 different places. Eastside Dental was able to get me in the next morning from when I called. If you are looking for a Dentist you can rely on and get some of the best service and customer care call these guys!!

Eastside Dental is an amazing place for my son and I. We have been coming here since 2020 and still a warm welcoming place. What can I say about Dr.Galka? Well, it's like seeing your grandpa who takes his time and listens to your problem and help you solve it. Dr. Galka is kind and funny and always ready to be help you. Met Dr. Behlmer for the first time today and I like his honesty and his input on finding solutions for my son's teeth situation. Hannah and Chuck, the Dental the hygienists are so sweet and so patient with my son and I. They take their time and always allows you to ask questions about anything that you might have concerns about and always make you feel at ease. They're just the best! Honestly, all the dental hygienists are wonderful here!! All of them! The front desk, Allison, Lizzy, and Erica are so wonderful, and if you ever needed anything they always try to help you see your doctors right away. We have had a great experience here and we will continue to come back and support the business.

I had my semi-annual appointment at Eastside Dental today and pleased/happy as usual. I was met by Allison, the Patient Coordinator who carefully and patiently explained my procedures and handled my question with kindness and concern. For todays visit, I first saw Chuck the Dental Hygienist who is always a comforting. Seeing Chuck, I'm confident I will be getting another meticulous cleaning and all around care. To finish my visit, Dr. Kurt Behlmer the dentist I've been seeing did his through examination. So, I would definitely recommend the dental practitioners at Eastside Dental. Bruce Tilley

Our Marquette daughter cracked her tooth and broke her Maryland Bridge very early on a Friday morning. After several calls to various dental offices, Eastside Dental agreed to see our daughter despite having no appointments available and shortened Friday hours. Everyone we worked with within the office was terrific from start to finish. They were all accommodating and professional and quickly did everything to resolve an uncomfortable and embarrassing dental situation. There is nothing but smiles from our student and her parents, who live on the west coast and had difficulty finding good help on short notice from far away! Eastside Dental comes with our highest five-star recommendation. Thank you, Erica and Dr. Behlmer, D.D.S.

Routine dental visits are going to be so much easier now that I've found Eastside Dental. Dr Behlmer and both hygienists I've had have been very accommodating and kind. I get pretty nervous in a dental chair and they do everything to make sure I'm comfortable and reassure me that things are going okay. For the first time ever I'm looking forward to my next cleaning. Thanks!
