Dr. Walker Shivar has been creating beautiful smiles since 1981! Dr. Shivarattended Penn State University for hisundergraduate studies and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia. He went on to complete specialty training, receiving his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate from Eastman Dental Clinic.
He and his wife, Donna, live in Norfolk and have adjusted to the 'empty nest syndrome'. Their daughters, Kaitlyn and MacKenzie, live in Arlington and Richmond respectively. All enjoy more than ever the holidays and vacations that enable the family to spend time together.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at St. Johns University, Dr. Anthony Peluso earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia. His postgraduate training was completed at MCV/VCU in Richmond, where he received his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate. Dr. Peluso has been in practice since 1999.
In giving back to the community, Dr. Peluso volunteers with the Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America and Give Kids a Smile. He lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Rose, and their four children: Anthony, Hannah, Madison and Kate. Away from the office, Dr. Peluso enjoys fitness, reading, motorcycles and carving duck decoys.
Dr. Savage received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Virginia in 2012. He earned his D.M.D from the University of Louisville in 2016. Dr. Savage obtained his certificate in Orthodontics from the Georgia School of Orthodontics in 2020 and is board eligible. Dr. Savage grew up in Virginia Beach and is very excited to return to the area and become a new provider of orthodontic care in our practice.

Hello, my name is Calvin and this is my story. I first came into this office for treatment after my daughter Gabrielle received her treatment for her teeth. She wore braces and her finished results were outstanding. I always knew I needed and wanted to fix my smile. I grew up as a teen hiding my smile and felt like when the timing was right, I would take advantage of the opportunity. From start to finish every staff member here along with the doctors treated me with a supreme level of kindness and professionalism. It was almost like I became part of their family. We would share stories, laugh and that is what I enjoyed the most about every visit during my treatment process. I wore Invisalign on both my top and bottom teeth and the results literally changed my life. I was able to gain just what I needed in life as an adult and that was a level of confidence when I talked to people face to face. The best part was the ending result and that was being able to show off a bright beautiful smile. To all the staff here, I thank you for a job well done!

Dr. Frazier sent me to your office for pain associated with my bite. Dr. Andersen went over a multitude of treatment options and was supportive of my choice. Price and payment was a clear and simple process. When Dr. Andersen retired, I was concerned about the continuity of my treatment, but Dr. Shivar has been amazing! I requested several refinements and have been a patient for over three years, and the whole practice has been a pleasure to work with! They happily accommodated my two young children during several appointments. Invisalign was simple and I'm so pleased with my results!

Receptionist was rude to the point I did not want to pursue further assistance. I'd suggest termination if I were her supervisor. I have heard nothing but good things from my colleagues about this facility, the work they do is great from everything I've heard. This one star is solely about the attitude I got over the phone.

I was very pleased with Dr. Shivar and his entire team. From the check in system, to the front desk staff, to the dental hygienists and to Dr. Shivar himself everyone was professional and friendly. My initial consult had me wearing Invisalign for up to 12 months. Fortunately, the system worked faster than anyone expected and I was out of them in 5 months. The follow up fitting for the retainer was efficient and simple! I am happy with the results and very pleased with the entire experience.

I was always really self-conscious about the way my teeth looked, so even though I didn't like the dentist much, I desperately wanted to go to the ortho to get braces. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed my appointments and the staff were all funny and nice. I'm happy and grateful for the way my teeth look now! Big thanks to Dr. Shivar for taking care of my teeth. I 100% recommend this place

When I first got my braces I was very insecure about my teeth and even the way that the braces looked, but all the staff was very encouraging and patient. Every appointment they were very kind and patient and personal. My teeth were pushed back and crowded, but they were quick to correct this and always asked how I felt, reassuring me that I was the most important person in that room. I wouldn't have wanted this transformation to happen anywhere else.

I had a great experience here! That staff is very helpful and friendly. The front desk was always very flexible with scheduling and rescheduling my appointments. My appointments always started on time, and the dental assistants were very knowledgeable.

Your Orthodontic Story: Overall our experience was fantastic! From day one to today, "de-band" day. First, I will say that your front desk staff has always been friendly, patient and courteous. Second, the explanations and descriptions on actual work were accurate and easy to understand. Appointment lengths were very short and to the point, never really any long wait times to get in to see the orthodontist. Most important, was the quality of the work and process. They did exactly what they said , and in our case, shorter than expected! We rarely had the brackets falling off or a pokey wire issue. Sure there were some days of pain, nothing a few Advil didn't fix. I would say to this point were very happy and glad we chose EVO for Marina's orthodontic care. Her teeth are beautiful. I would absolutely recommend Eastern Virginia Orthodontics to anyone!

My daughter's orthodontic experience has been fantastic! For about a year and a half, we have been visiting Dr. Shivar and his staff regularly. Everyone is always welcoming and makes us feel comfortable. They are very accommodating and appointments are easily scheduled. I highly recommend Eastern Virginia Orthodontics. We are a military family who came to Dr. Shivar on a neighbor's recommendation. We have not been disappointed! He is knowledgeable, friendly, prompt, willing to give a military discount, and knew precisely and immediately exactly how to treat my son's orthodontic needs. My son even got to get his braces off earlier than expected! All the staff is welcoming, friendly, and helpful as well.

I got invisalign braces here. I'd asked my dentist for a year and a half for an orthodontist. I'd gone to the same gym as him when I was a child. The third time I'd asked him, he sent me here. I understand why here. They do good orthodontics. But all orthodontists do. What makes it special is that each person here is good at what they do. They care about it. And they're just nice;)

My story started after seeing the great work Dr. Shivar did on my mom and sister. I was so impressed that I decided to get my teeth and my sons' teeth done with braces. All appointments accommodated my schedule and my sons' schedule with him being an athlete. Also accepting my insurance made it financially a win for me.
