815 Fourth St C, Longview, TX 75601

A native of Minden La., Dr. Mark Camp earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Louisiana Tech University. During his college tenure, he served with the La. National Guard in Saudi Arabia supporting Operation Desert Storm. He then attended LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, earning a D.D.S. in 1996. After completing dental school, he served in the U.S. Navy as a General Dentist in Charleston, S.C. and aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, stationed in Norfolk, Va. Upon completion of his Naval service, Dr. Camp returned to the LSU School of Dentistry for 3 years, earning a certificate in Endodontics and a Masters of Science in Oral Biology in 2002.

Dr. Camp is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, member of the ADA, the TDA and the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry. He has given numerous lectures in an effort to share his knowledge with other Dental Practitioners.

In his free time, Dr. Camp enjoys spending time with his wife of 25 years and High School sweetheart Rebecca, as well as their two children Marguerite and Mary Katherine. While most of their family activities are centered around his daughters equestrian events and family watersports, he also enjoys wing shooting, fishing and Elk hunting.

Although General Dentists can perform endodontic treatment, patients are often referred to an Endodontist when the case is complicated or more difficult than usual. In order to understand Endodontic treatment, it helps to know something about the anatomy of a tooth.

The pulp contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue that are responsible for forming the surrounding Dentin and Enamel during tooth development. The pulp receives its nourishment from vessels which enter the end of the root.

Although the pulp is important during development of the tooth, it is not necessary for function of the adult tooth. The tooth continues to be nourished by the tissues surrounding it even after the pulp is removed.

I saw Dr. Perez in the Mt. Pleasant office. She was kind and took the time to talk to me and explain to me that I did not need a root canal which a previous dentist told me I did. She went over the xrays as well. Her bedside manner was the best! k. She also wrote a letter to a previo

The staff is very professional and friendly. Dr Camp came in and looked at my wife's x-ray and tooth and said it would be best to pull the tooth, but then told us it was below his dignity to pull the tooth and we would have to return to our original dentist. Needless to say we were disappointed. Then we were charged $225.00 for his time.

Shout out to Dr. Camp and his assistant. My first and I hope last root canal. During the hour and half procedure I was comfortable and pain free. They were both professional, friendly, and made sure I knew what was going each step of the way. If you find yourself needing these services I highly recommend Dr.Camp, you won't be disappointed.

Got a root canal. 2 days later had a sore come up on my gumline where Dr. Camp did the root canal. Called his cell phone, no return call. I went back for him to look at it. Very sore, hurting. He said it was a ulcer from the anesthesia. I was very concerned about it, he said "what do you want me to do cut it out". I was shocked. Very rude, bad beside manners. Will not go back.

Professional yet personable from the front office to the dental staff and dentist. Dr.R. Dunavant did a wonderful job on my root canal. His demeanor put me at ease for the procedure. It was quick and seamless. It is nice to know you are in capable skilled hands even on your first visit to a new dentist. Thank you all for such a pleasant experience.

Going to the dentist is not one of my favorite things to do but I had been experiencing pain for over a week so I sought out my family dentist. He referred me to East Texas Endodontics in Lufkin. They just happened to have a spot available that afternoon....thank goodness!! I headed to Lufkin which I was happy about instead of having to go to Longview. I was greeted and found the office to be very clean and neat. After filling out the paperwork (on an iPad!) I was taken in for X-rays and the culprit was found! So the root canal began and I was out of there in about an hour and half. I was told what to expect and Dr. Rusty and the hygienist were very good to check on me during the procedure. They were very personable, caring and willing to stay late for me. The absolute best thing was, other than the fact that I am feeling so much better, was THE MUSIC!! The Aggie War Hymn was played as I checked out since Dr. Rusty knew enough about my family to know that we are all AGGIES!! I would highly recommend this practice!! I hope I don't have to have another root canal done anytime soon but if I do, I'll be heading to East Texas Endodontics, P.A. in Lufkin, TX. Carla Redfield

This was my first experience with a root canal. I was impressed with the level of skill it took to actually perform this procedure. The procedure was long but my comfort was seen to. There is a reason it takes a specialist to perform this procedure. I appreciate the fact that someone actual took the time to go to school and prepare to provide this service to our community. Thank you Dr Dunavant and your assistant!

Appreciate the doctor seeing me right away. I was in lot of pain, but the doctor took care of me and I was feeling great when I left his office. His staff was super nice and very helpful. Loved how my application was taken using an iPad. First time I have seen this method used. Really easy completing the application. Music in his office was also soothing. Pretty nice. Thanks all at East Texas Endodontics.

Dr. Ross is excellent. He gave me an accurate diagnosis regarding a possible root canal procedure. He said I didn't need a root canal after he tested my tooth for sensitivity and determined the root and nerves of my molar were still healthy. Two other dentists told me I needed a root canal after tapping on my teeth a few times and looking at an X-ray. It's been 2 years now and I'm pain free and NO root canal! Thank you Dr. Ross for helping me to avoid an uncomfortable and unnecessary procedure. You can trust this dentist!
