Dr. Joseph Palumbo enjoys using his comprehensive range of clinical skills to help patients achieve the bright beautiful smiles theyve always wanted. He treats his patients on a personal, caring basis, giving them comfort and satisfaction with their results.Dr. Palumbo received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook before earning his doctorate degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997. After completing an advanced education in General Dentistry from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn NY, he and Dr. Yousuf formed East Lyme Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in 2000.
Dr. Palumbo also holds a fellowship certification in dental implants from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers from the Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry in New York City.
Dr. Palumbos other affiliations include Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), CEREC Doctors Assoc., American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), and the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped (NFDH).
Dr. Yousuf graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Science. He received his Doctorate Degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997. Dr. Yousuf furthered his study by obtaining a degree of Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia in 1998. In 2005, Dr. Yousuf was awarded a fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, where he demonstrated an exceptional interest in the advancement of Implant Dentistry. In 2006, Dr. Yousuf completed advanced training in cosmetic and smile makeover dentistry under the supervision of acclaimed cosmetic dentist, Dr. Larry Rosenthal in New York City.
Dr. Yousuf has been in private practice in Norwich, CT since 1998, and East Lyme, CT since 2000. He is an active member of the New London County Dental Society, Connecticut State Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. In his time away from the practice and study of Dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his three daughters, hiking, cooking, and golfing.
Dr. LaGuardia graduated with a degree in finance from St Johns University. He continued his studies with a degree in biology from NY Institute of Technology. In 1999 he received his DMD degree from Tuft University. Dr. LaGuardia has been in private practice since 2007. His practice in Port Jefferson, NY focused mainly on family dentistry with an emphasis on preventative care. Hes currently transitioning to south Eastern CT, an area where hes vacationed.
He enjoys his sons hockey and his daughters dance. His hobbies include golf, travel and physical fitness. He is looking forward to bringing his professional skill and treating the patients at East Lyme with the highest level of quality care and compassion.

The very best of the best. Dr Palumbo is the sweetest, best Dr you will EVER find. I first discovered them when I needed a second opinion because a different dentist was trying to scam me. Dr Palumbo is honest, good at what he does, and very gentle and kind. Love him and his staff A+++++++

The staff is very friendly which is always my first impression. Dr Palumbo took the time to go over my new patient records, talk to me, and help find out what may be causing my jaw pain. The dental cleaning was very be thorough and they made it easy to make my follow up appointments.

Had an issue over the weekend with a tooth. No pain involved but needed fixing. They got me in quickly and Dr. Palumbo fixed the issue with his usual friendly nature. What an amazing person he is along with all his staff. I highly recommend them as your choice for your dentistry needs.

East Lyme Family & Cosmetic Dentistry has always done well for me. I had a bad tooth really giving problems I call them they took me the next day. Unfortunately the tooth had to be removed and they took care of that in the same day. Very happy to have them for my dental care.

I had a crown fall off and was taken in soon and had it cleaned up and a temp put on. Dr. Palumbo was so gentle I was eating an hour later and couldn't tell the difference from before. He called the next day to check. Very happy, great dentist
