East Hills Dental Center has been serving the dental needs of the Greater Dickson area for almost 40 years. Dr. Gaylan Brown founded the practice in 1981, and Dr. Ben Cannon joined the team in 2003. In 2014 they decided to open a second convenient location in Waverly, Tennessee. This strong duo is proud to continue the tradition of providing the perfect mixture of modern dentistry in a family-focused atmosphere.

Dr. Ben Cannon is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and U.T. Memphis College of Dentistry. He joined our practice in 2001. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, Tennessee Dental Association, and Nashville Dental Society. He is passionate about dentistry, helping people achieve their dental goals, and staying focused on all the new and best ways to better serve our new and existing patients.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Cannon volunteers his services to the Interfaith Dental Clinic. He also opened a dental clinic in Zimbabwe, which provides free dental care to people suffering from the AIDS virus. He spends many hours each year attending dental conferences and courses to further his training. This allows him and his staff to stay current on the latest trends and technology in dentistry.

Dr. Gaylan Brown is a native of Dickson County, raised on the family dairy farm located on 48N between Dickson and Charlotte. After graduation from Charlotte High School, and David Lipscomb College, he attended the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences and received his dental degree in 1977. He returned to his native Dickson and worked 4 years as an associate of Dr. James Rountree. He began his private practice in 1981, taking on Dr. Ben Cannon as an associate in the early 2000s, who is now a partner with him.

After more than 40 years, he is still very passionate about dentistry, always stimulated by new and better technology and techniques for offering the best possible dental care. He is thankful every day to be able to use the talents he feels that God has blessed him with to serve those people who trust him with their dental well-being.

He is actively involved in the Walnut Street Church of Christ where he serves as an elder. He is also a member of the Dickson Good Morning Rotary Club. He enjoys hiking, flower gardening, biking, and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren).

Dr. Logan Newman was born and raised in Brookings, South Dakota. Hes a graduate of Minnesota State University and Creighton University School of Dentistry. He has been trained in many areas of dentistry and is comfortable seeing patients of varying needs. He puts a heavy emphasis on patient education and preventative measures, so that the patient can succeed with long-term oral health. Dr. Newman is interested in expanding his knowledge into more fields to better serve his patients, such as Implants, Crowns, and Orthodontics.

Dr. Newman grew up playing every sport offered in his hometown which included hockey, baseball and soccer. Hes now an avid hockey and football fan. Go Preds! He also enjoys spending his time volunteering at One World Clinic (helping the underserved in clinics with populations of reduced resources), traveling, and playing fantasy football.

Brittany has been in the dental field since 2003 and joined the EHDC Team in 2017. She loves the interaction with patients and being a part of helping them achieve their goal. Brittany was born and raised in Dickson County. She and her husband, Brandon, married in 2010 and share three beautiful children, Kennedy, Presleigh and Briggs. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping and watching football during her spare time.

Christi has been in dentistry since 2016. She joined the East Hills Dental Team in 2019. She takes every opportunity to learn new things. She married her husband, Josh, in 2008 and they share three beautiful kids, Alohna, Sawyer, and Hudson. When she is not at work, she is spending all of her time at the ball field with her kids travel softball and baseball teams.

Kristen has been a hygienist since 2008 and a graduate from TSU. When not at work, she loves spending family time with her husband and sons outdoors. She also enjoys working out and has a love for animals.

Lisa graduated from Remington College with her Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2016. Prior to that, she obtained her Dental Assisting certificate from Volunteer State Community College in 2001 and has Office Administration experience with finance to include insurance. Her long time and diverse experience in dentistry inspired to pursue her career in Dental Hygiene. Lisa is the widow of Sgt. Daniel Baker (EOW 5.30.18). She now works part-time to balance being the sole parent to their daughter, Meredith June.

Keri started in the dentistry field as an RDA in 1998. She has been married to her husband Chris since 1996. They have one son, Adam, who attends Austin Peay State University. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, watching sports, and working out.

Autumn graduated from TCAT in Dickson in 2014 with a license as a Certified Dental Assistant, completed her expanded functions certification in 2020, and has been with the East Hills Dental team since March 2018. She and her husband Levi married in 2011 and have two children. When she is not working Autumn loves to go hiking, being outdoors with her family, and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Graycen graduated from the Dental Assistant Program at the TCAT in Dickson in September of 2020. She started working for East Hills in November of 2020. She was born and raised in Waverly, TN. On the weekends, Graycen is a Pharmacy Technician at Walmart Pharmacy in Waverly. Outside of work, you can find her wherever her little boy, Cooper, is. Graycen enjoys spending time with her family and anything sports or outdoors-related.

Stefanie was raised in Dickson County by loving adoptive parents. She attended High Tech Institute and graduated with an associates degree in Applied Sciences along with a Registered Dental Assistants license in 2006.

She has been in dentistry for over 15 years and has loved every moment of it. Stefanie knew she wanted to be in the dental field since her high school days and even received Best Smile as a senior superlative. She is also the Worship Director at Compassion Church in McEwen.

She and her two boys Blake and Levi serve at the McEwen, Dickson, and Waverly locations of Compassion Church. Stefanie has been in ministry for 10 years. Shes also engaged to be married in January 2022 to her high school best friend Lee Woodard!

In her leisure time, she enjoys crafts and spending quality time with family and boys. They love to go on son and mother dates, watch movies on the lawn, or go on trips to the zoo or aquarium. Stephanie also enjoys singing, playing guitar or piano at home for fun as well.

Emily has been in dentistry for 25+ years. She started out as a dental assistant, for 10 years. While working, she would take night classes to attend Tennessee State University Dental Hygiene Program. She graduated in May of 2005 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has been working with us now since 2017. Emily has one son named Grayson, who attends St. Patricks Catholic School in McEwen. She enjoys educating the public about dental health and is thankful to be providing care in our Waverly office.
