Kate is a wonderful hygienist. She's so friendly and knowledgeable. She works hard to answer all my questions and has really helped to improve my teeth. The office makes me feel comfortable and well cared for!

After moving to East Hampton more than ten years ago, I continued to travel to Ludlow, Massachusetts to see the dentist that I had been with since 1984. Obviously, I had developed a high degree of comfort with their services and they knew my dental history. Then, he retired. I was now faced with either picking a new dentist in the same practice or going somewhere else. Since I'd be having a new dentist anyway, it made no sense to continue to drive more than an hour each way for a visit. So, I began looking closer to home. I spoke with friends and read reviews of local dentists and chose one - five minutes from my house. By the end of my first visit I knew I had made the right choice in East Hampton Family Dental. They are a small practice and several things have impressed me about their services. Two things that I look for in any medical practitioner is information about any procedures they recommend and their efforts to make any treatment as comfortable as possible. I give East Hampton Family Dental "A" grades for both. First, I 've needed several procedures - a crown and an implant. For each, Dr. Kanakala thoroughly explained why I needed the procedure, the ramifications if I didn't have the procedures done, and the steps along the process. She never seemed rushed and made sure that I fully understood exactly what was needed. Second, they are very attentive to patient comfort. Obviously, those weren't fun procedures, but she was very careful that my discomfort was minimized before, during, and after working on my teeth. I have found that to be true with every visit. Kate, the dental hygienist is very careful and thorough with her work and offers a lot of solid advice about care for my mouth and teeth. Again, she doesn't just get me in the chair, get me finished, and get me out. Rather, she takes her time to point out ways of improving my dental hygiene. She is extremely knowledgeable and, like Dr. Kanakala, sees you as more than just a patient, but also as a person. Two other factors make me glad that I chose East Hampton Family Dental. When you walk in and observe for a few minutes you will be impressed with their attentiveness to health, sanitation, and safety throughout the office. Also, in addition to the outstanding professional staff, after the first visit the front office receptionist greeted me by name and has ever since. She is very personable and accommodating. You can tell by the length of my review that I am extremely happy that I chose East Hampton Family Dental, and I bet you will too, should you also chose them.

My family and I have had consistently great experiences here! The staff is wonderful! I love seeing Donna, Kait and Dr. Canakala, who always put a (sparkling clean) smile on my face!

Dr. Canakala and her staff are wonderful. Every procedure I have gotten there has been smooth and painless. I also appreciate that they take great effort to explain every step of the way and ensure I'm comfortable, it really goes a long way for people who are nervous. Easily the finest dental establishment I have ever been to. A very big recommend if you are looking for a good one in the area!

I recently started going to East Hampton Family Dentistry and I am extremely pleased with the service and staff. Kate is so reassuring and patient with me that it makes my visits less stressful. I had my first consultation with Dr C and I was extremely impressed with the patience and care taken to address the multitude of questions I had. Thorough and detailed answers were provided, even on the insurance issues that always seem to be more complicated than warranted. The Dr took the time to go over each x-ray and discuss the various procedures available to address the concerns I had with my dental health. And I can't overlook the chance to mention the genuine interest in the whole staff, making patients feel welcome and comfortable, each taking the time individually, to come out front and introduce themselves while I was waiting for my appt. East Hampton Family Dental is for everyone in the family. We have been coming here since we moved to East Hampton several years ago. Dr. Canakala is very friendly and personable. My children love coming here, and I know why, Kait, is by far the best hygienist I've ever had. She's very gentle and makes your dental experience feel like a day at the spa!
