Becoming a dentist was a lifelong dream for Dr. Marcus Capalbo. Growing up in a family of dentists, he always aspired to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, father, and brothers. Dr. Marcus is the seventh dentist in his family. His father and uncle still practice in the office founded by his grandfather in Westerly, RI.
Dr. Marcus graduated from Providence College and then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. At Tufts, he earned a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree. Following dental school, Dr. Marcus attended the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the UConn Health Center Hospital. Dr. Marcus still continues his education, taking classes and attending seminars all over the country.
Dr. Geoffrey Carignan was raised in Falmouth, MA and then completed an undergraduate degree in biology at Hobart College in upstate New York. Before attending dental school at Boston University, Geoffrey spent a year working and skiing in Park City, Utah.
During his time at dental school, Dr. Carignan volunteered at the Dental Education Outreach in Boston, MA, helping provide dental care and health information for elementary-aged school children in the Boston area. After finishing dental school, Geoff commissioned in the Air Force as a dentist and was stationed in Shreveport, LA and Wichita Falls, TX. There, he gained experience in oral surgery, root canals, and pediatric care.
While in Shreveport, Dr. Carignan researched and presented a case study at the Northwest Louisiana Dental Association Meeting. Dr. Carignan is a member of multiple accredited dental organizations, including the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), Texas Dental Association (TDA), and the American Dental Association (ADA). In addition, Dr. Carignan is certified in IV sedation. When hes not practicing dental care, Geoffreys hobbies include cooking, baking, skiing, and camping.
Founded in 1859, the not-for-profit American Dental Association is the nations largest dental association, representing more than 158,000 dentist members. Since then, the ADA has grown to become the leading source of oral health related information for dentists and their patients. The ADA is committed to its members and to the improvement of oral health for the public.
The Rhode Island Dental Association (RIDA) is a professional organization of Rhode Island dentists dedicated to the service of the public and advancement of the profession through education, advocacy, and member services.
