Dr. Thorfinnson established his dental practice in East Grand Forks, MN in 1988. His professional education includes attending North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, earning his BS and DDS degrees. He is past president of NWDDS, where he also served on the Ethics and Bylaws committee as well as Peer Review.
With Dr. Thorfinnsons passion for general dentistry as well as adult and childrens orthodontics, he has achieved the highest standards of orthodontic care and was awarded the title of Diplomate of the American Orthodontic Society by his peers.
Amy is a member of our hygiene team, and it is her responsibility to ensure our patients' oral health through education, screenings, diagnostic procedures, and cleanings. She enjoys working with each patient on a one-on-one basis, and gets great satisfaction from seeing them smile. When she's not at work, Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and cross-stitching.
Deborah has over 30 years of experience in the dental field and is RDA and CDA certified. First, as our business manager, she helps to keep our office running smoothly and efficiently, files insurance to maximize patient benefits, and serves as our financial coordinator. Deborah is also a clinical assistant and a dentomandibular rehabilitation therapist. This allows her to work with patients who suffer from headaches and migraines. Away from the office, Deborah and her husband like spending time with their two grown children & grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors.
As our DMRT, Jeff works directly with patients needing pain relief by educating and discussing with the patient about theie health and how their headaches and migraines are associated with their dental foundation, making the patient comfortable and at ease, and assisting Dr. Thorfinnson with the diagnostic process. He adeptly explains to the patient what the data means and how our clinic can help. He also conducts the treatment on the patient while explaining what each modality is used for. Jeff graduated with honors from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a BA in Psychology. In his time away from the office, Jeff enjoys staying active, playing sports with friends, hanging out with family, going to the lake in the summer time, reading books, watching sports, going on trips, and continuing to learn every day as he works towards his Master's degree.

When my dentist decided to retire, I was up in the air about who I would transition to, I had know Dr. Thorfinnson through other experiences throughout the community so he was the first one that came to mind. It's always great heading in for a checkup as he always has some new stories about what he's been up to in his free time, and is also always very curious as to what you have been up to as well, which is always comforting. Along with Dr. Thorfinnson, his staff has been incredible, from the time I had my past dentists office send my records it has been nothing but smooth sailing, you are always greeted with a cheerful welcome and the other part of the always keeps your visit so fun. Couldn't be happier with my decision! Highly recommend Dr. Thorfinnson and his staff for anyone looking to make a change, or just happens to be new to the area!

Every visit is a great one (even when it's not just a cleaning.) The staff always welcomes you right when you walk in the door and they are always very pleasant. I have been going here for many years so I have seen all of the hygienists and they all do a fantastic job. Dr. Thorfinnson is always very thorough in his exams. He is very friendly and easy to talk to. You definitely leave this place with that "clean mouth feeling." 5 stars!

Great experience. Kari gave me a wonderful and painless cleaning procedure. Very professional. She was even careful around the tooth that was sensitive. I highly recommend this dental clinic.
