Our dedication to superb service starts with Dr. Jesse Harris and his extensive experience. Before opening East Coast Endodontics, he received his Doctors in Dentistry and a Certificate in Endodontics from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed his residency in the Air Force. He has since been practicing endodontics at East Coast Endodontics exclusively since 2009.

The Wounded Warrior Project works to help injured service members of the United States armed forces by raising public awareness, connecting wounded service members, and providing unique programs and services.
The ReeseStrong Foundation developsprograms for families, plans fundraisers and raises awareness of childhood cancer. The foundation is inspired by its namesake Julia Reese Klauer who wasdiagnosed with a brain tumor in January 2009.
Dr. Jesse Harrisreceived a Bachelor of Science in Biology fromVirginia Techin 2000 followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery fromVirginia Commonwealth Universityin 2005. In 2012, hereceived his Master of Science in Dentistry and a Certificate in Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University while serving as Chief Resident.
After graduation, Dr. Harris entered the United States Air Force, completing a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Wright Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, OH. While on active duty, Dr. Harris served as the Officer in Charge of Medical Operations Squadron Dental Flight, 354th Medical Group, Fighter Wing, Eielson AFB, Alaska. Following his honorable discharge in 2009, Dr. Jesse Harris practiced general dentistry for one year in Fairbanks, AK. Shortly after receiving his Masters Degree, he opened East Coast Endodontics, a private practice limited to endodontics. In addition to his work at East Coast Endodontics, Dr. Harris holds a part-time position as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Harris is dedicated to helping others and enriching local communities near Richmond, Virginia and around the world. He completed a philanthropic trip to Falmouth, Jamaica in 2005 as a dental student providing care to hundreds of local Jamaican adults and children. In 2008, he participated in a Joint Forces Humanitarian Mission to the Alaskan villages of Kotzebue and Point Hope in 2009, where he provided expert dental care for two weeks. Dr. Harris is a booster to the local school system and participates in a number of non-profit organizations.
Dr. Richard Sedwick earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences atBrigham Young Universitybefore returning to his home state. Dr. Sedwick completed his dental training atVirginia Commonwealth University, where he received a Doctors of Dental Surgery and certificate in Endodontics in 2011. Dr. Sedwick chose to return to VCU and complete his residency in Advanced Education in Endodontics and received his Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2018. He also served as the chief resident during his second year.
While practicing as a general dentist for 5 years in both Richmond and Staunton, Virginia, Dr. Sedwick developed a passion for endodontics. He found helping patients eliminate pain while saving their teeth incredibly rewarding. After receiving his masters, Dr. Sedwick joined the East Coast Endodontics team in July of 2018.
Recently, Dr. Sedwick returned from Guatemala, where he perfected his apical surgery techniques. Dr. Sedwick has also participated in Missions of Mercy projects in southwestern Virginia, providing endodontic services to those who would otherwise not be able to save their natural dentition.
Dr. Sedwick is excited to continue calling the Richmond area home. When not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their four beautiful children. They enjoy hiking, swimming, and going to the movies; and, if Dr. Sedwick has some alone time, he enjoys reading a good book.
Dr. Adam Sarnowski earned his Bachelor of Science in 2002 and Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry in 2006 from the University of Florida. After dental school, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Audie L Murphy Veterans Affairs hospital in San Antonio, Texas. In 2017, he returned to school for post-graduate training in endodontics at the Virginia Commonwealth University, serving as Chief Resident during his second year. He earned his Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2019.
After completing his advanced education in general dentistry, Dr. Sarnowski then worked for nine years as a staff dentist at the Washington, DC VA Medical Center. After completing his Masters degree, Dr. Sarnowski joined the East Coast Endodontics team in August of 2019.
Dr. Sarnowski, his wife and two children are pleased to settle here and call Richmond home. In his spare time, Adam enjoys exploring Richmond with his family. He also enjoys cheering on his beloved Florida Gators and rooting for the Washington Nationals

I was terrified to have my root canal done but everyone was so so friendly and I felt no pain!! Dr. Sedwick and his assistant Debbie were so friendly and fun along with the front desk staff. You'll have a great experience.

Was traveling to VA on business. Tooth was in bad shape. East coast squeezed me in same day to resolve pain and enable fruitful business trip.

My second visit to East Coast and both times the Drs and staff were friendly and competent. I cant rate their endo work tho, because both times they found a cracked tooth and referred me to an oral surgeon. Oh well.

I want to to thank East Coast Endodontics for being so quick about getting me in, especially Debbie, she is the one that made it happen. The staff was amazing as soon as you walk in and the doctor was very thorough in the information he gave. Highly recommend!

Was recommended here from my primary dentist for a root canal. From the time I walked in the door, I received nothing but top notch service. If I ever need a another root canal, I know where to go.

This was the best dental experience I've ever had. I had a previous dentist mess up a root canal and even left a piece of something on my tooth. Another dentist fixed it and referred me to Dr. Sedgwick to get my root canal checked out because she said she's not a specialist. Well it's the first time I had ever heard of an Endondist, but kudos to her for knowing it's outside of her scope. Anyway, I had major tooth pain I thought was coming from the root canal. Dr. Sedgwick realized that my previous dentist put a filling so close to the root that it should have just been a root canal. Debbie the dental hygienist was so nice and helpful. They used equipment I had never seen at my other dentist office to avoid saliva and bacteria from going into the tooth area while they worked on it. Dr. Harris thoroughly explained my x Ray's to give me an understanding of what was going on. He was so knowledgeable. I've never had a dentist take the time to explain. I'm literally in the parking lot writing this review because that's how good I felt about the experience. I highly recommend Dr. Harris. Do not let a regular dentist give you a root canal. Come here even if you have to drive out of the way like I had to. It's worth the trip to feel confident the job was done properly.

Upon arrival I was pleasantly greeted by Lauren and Michelle at the front desk. I was nervous about my procedure, but they reassured me that everything would be a breeze and it surely was! Debbie brought me back and had a warm blanket ready for me. Such a nice and relaxing touch to a dental service! Dr.Sedwick and Debbie performed my procedure and constantly checked on me throughout the process. I had tons of questions, and they answered every last one of them pre, mid and post procedure! Dr. Sedwick is amazing and so is this practice and the wonderful team! Hence why I'm writing this review fresh out of my procedure still numb! Lol! 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend!

Getting the news that I had to have two root canals done wasn't great, but my experience at East Coast Endodontics was amazing. The front office staff was so friendly and helpful; you can tell they care about every patient. Dr. Sedwick was really personable and thorough. I appreciated that he talked me through the procedures and frequently checked my comfort level. The day after I felt no pain. This place is a gem!

Dr. Harris and Dora performed a root canal on a crowned molar that was acting up. Everyone that I encountered was friendly, professional, and informative. The procedure itself went fast and I had almost no pain afterwards. They even provided the permanent filling so I didn't require a follow up appointment with my dentist. I would not consider going to another endodontist if I need similar treatment in the future. This is an excellent business and I recommend them to anyone requiring treatment.

Not many people would categorize a trip to the dentist for a root canal as a great experience, unless they had been to East Coast Endodontics to see Dr Harris. From the moment you arrive thru your departure, these outstanding professional treat you with such kindness and great care, you almost don't want to leave. By name, Dr Harris, Dora, Lauren and Lindsay are the dream team. Dr Harris is a magician, Ive had cleanings that were more painful than his root canals, and I love the fact that he explains everything he is doing in terms I understand, and routinely checks to make sure Im doing OK. He is truly the gold standard of dentists. And, bonus, his chairs are comfortable enough to take nap in! If I had anything at all to grouse about, its that I couldn't talk him into being my everyday dentist.

I was referred to East Coast Endodontics by my dentist for a root canal. From the very first call to set up my consultation, all the way to the procedure, the care and customer service was excellent! The day of the procedure, Debbie gave me a warm blanket to cover up because the office was chilly. Dr. Sedwick was personable and thorough. He took time to go over the procedure, showed me the before and after x-rays, and talked to me about what to expect during my recovery. I had minimal discomfort after the procedure and no pain the following day.

I received a root canal at East Coast Endo, and while it was not what I really wanted to do, Dr Harris and staff made the experience enjoyable, and more comfortable then expected, from the friendly and very kind welcoming from Lauren, to the wonderful assisting and patient treatment from Dora, to a smooth and delightful send off from Jeanette. Thank you all for the great care, I was quite nervous going in and very happy going home. I would recommend you to all my family and friends.

Dr. Sarnowski was able to squeeze me in for an emergency visit after I cracked a molar and exposed the root - all less than a week before leading a major international trip for nine people. To say I was in a bind would be an understatement! Everything went smoothly and I was impressed with the care and treatment I received at their Short Pump location. Pain management throughout the procedure was clearly a high priority, and both Dr. Sarnowski and his assistant Jessica walked me through the entire procedure step by step. I was well taken care of of and extremely impressed with their professionalism. Debbie and Eran at the front desk answered all my follow-up appointment questions and Eran even offered to keep track of my progress while I was there so she could perfectly time calling my ride to pick me up when I was finished. The overall care and treatment I received was top-notch and I absolutely recommend Dr. Sarnowski and the staff at East Coast Endodontics. Nobody wakes up in the morning hoping for a root canal, but he managed to make the best out of my bad situation.

Having a root canal was not on my bucket list to say the least! Dr. Harris and his staff were PHENOMENAL! Everyone that I came in contact with was personable, professional and to be honest fun to be around! Katie, Lauren, Debbie and Dora as well as Dr. Harris made my visit EXCEPTIONAL! Dr. Harris is extremely fortunate to have put together such as caring and pleasant staff of great people. I wish other businesses would take lessons from the group at East Coast on how to treat people and develop such a caring and welcoming atmosphere! GREAT JOB To EVERYONE at East Coast!

I have been incredibly nervous about getting root canals but I'm loving the results of the one I just got from Dr. Harris and his assistant. They listen to me, provided an appropriate sedative that can help ease my nerves and just have an overall friendly office staff. I just can't believe how seamless and easy the root canal was and I was literally petrified of getting this done. Highly recommend this office for root canals.

Dr. Harris and his team were exceptional. As unsettling as two root canals appeared to be, Dr. Harris was able to provide a helpful overview of the procedure and answered every question I had. During the actual surgery I experienced NO discomfort whatsoever. Dr. Harris is certainly the best at what he does and the operation took no time at all. Even upon my returning visits to have my bleaching done, he was able to perform the bleaching procedures in a matter of minutes. If you are looking for a team to provide comfort, professionalism, and expert care this is the team for you. I will certainly return for any further endodontic needs.
