Our dedication to superb service starts with Dr. Jesse Harris and his extensive experience. Before opening East Coast Endodontics, he received his Doctors in Dentistry and a Certificate in Endodontics from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed his residency in the Air Force. He has since been practicing endodontics at East Coast Endodontics exclusively since 2009.

The Wounded Warrior Project works to help injured service members of the United States armed forces by raising public awareness, connecting wounded service members, and providing unique programs and services.
The ReeseStrong Foundation developsprograms for families, plans fundraisers and raises awareness of childhood cancer. The foundation is inspired by its namesake Julia Reese Klauer who wasdiagnosed with a brain tumor in January 2009.
Dr. Jesse Harrisreceived a Bachelor of Science in Biology fromVirginia Techin 2000 followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery fromVirginia Commonwealth Universityin 2005. In 2012, hereceived his Master of Science in Dentistry and a Certificate in Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University while serving as Chief Resident.
After graduation, Dr. Harris entered the United States Air Force, completing a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Wright Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, OH. While on active duty, Dr. Harris served as the Officer in Charge of Medical Operations Squadron Dental Flight, 354th Medical Group, Fighter Wing, Eielson AFB, Alaska. Following his honorable discharge in 2009, Dr. Jesse Harris practiced general dentistry for one year in Fairbanks, AK. Shortly after receiving his Masters Degree, he opened East Coast Endodontics, a private practice limited to endodontics. In addition to his work at East Coast Endodontics, Dr. Harris holds a part-time position as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Harris is dedicated to helping others and enriching local communities near Richmond, Virginia and around the world. He completed a philanthropic trip to Falmouth, Jamaica in 2005 as a dental student providing care to hundreds of local Jamaican adults and children. In 2008, he participated in a Joint Forces Humanitarian Mission to the Alaskan villages of Kotzebue and Point Hope in 2009, where he provided expert dental care for two weeks. Dr. Harris is a booster to the local school system and participates in a number of non-profit organizations.
Dr. Richard Sedwick earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences atBrigham Young Universitybefore returning to his home state. Dr. Sedwick completed his dental training atVirginia Commonwealth University, where he received a Doctors of Dental Surgery and certificate in Endodontics in 2011. Dr. Sedwick chose to return to VCU and complete his residency in Advanced Education in Endodontics and received his Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2018. He also served as the chief resident during his second year.
While practicing as a general dentist for 5 years in both Richmond and Staunton, Virginia, Dr. Sedwick developed a passion for endodontics. He found helping patients eliminate pain while saving their teeth incredibly rewarding. After receiving his masters, Dr. Sedwick joined the East Coast Endodontics team in July of 2018.
Recently, Dr. Sedwick returned from Guatemala, where he perfected his apical surgery techniques. Dr. Sedwick has also participated in Missions of Mercy projects in southwestern Virginia, providing endodontic services to those who would otherwise not be able to save their natural dentition.
Dr. Sedwick is excited to continue calling the Richmond area home. When not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their four beautiful children. They enjoy hiking, swimming, and going to the movies; and, if Dr. Sedwick has some alone time, he enjoys reading a good book.
Dr. Adam Sarnowski earned his Bachelor of Science in 2002 and Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry in 2006 from the University of Florida. After dental school, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Audie L Murphy Veterans Affairs hospital in San Antonio, Texas. In 2017, he returned to school for post-graduate training in endodontics at the Virginia Commonwealth University, serving as Chief Resident during his second year. He earned his Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2019.
After completing his advanced education in general dentistry, Dr. Sarnowski then worked for nine years as a staff dentist at the Washington, DC VA Medical Center. After completing his Masters degree, Dr. Sarnowski joined the East Coast Endodontics team in August of 2019.
Dr. Sarnowski, his wife and two children are pleased to settle here and call Richmond home. In his spare time, Adam enjoys exploring Richmond with his family. He also enjoys cheering on his beloved Florida Gators and rooting for the Washington Nationals

Went for an unplanned root canal resulting from a cracked tooth. Dr Sarnowski and Jesse were great. Talked me through everything that was going to happen and I was completely pain free within a few days. Front desk staff (Evan) were also fantastic - helpful and kind, and checked in on me the next day.

Best experience I have had getting a dental procedure. All the staff is very friendly, the environment is comfortable, and there was very little discomfort while getting my root canal.

So the team at East Coast were incredible. I had an infected molar and was referred by River Run Dental (also 5stars). Due to some family health issues, I only had a few days to get a root canal. The team (Evan, Jeanette, Carly, and Doc Sarnowski) got me in with a days notice to get the procedure done. Thank you all so very much for seeing me and having this done so quickly. Rich

This place is the best, I was a little nervous about the whole process of a root canal but they were great 10/10 they even gave me headphone so I can listen to music during which was great!

The short pump location staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr Sarnowski was Amazing, he does great work, and communicates with his patients during the procedure so you know what to expect and opened to questions. I enjoyed my experience, I had a root canal done and would recommend anyone needing an endodontics specialist, to see Dr Adam Sarnowski.

Terrific experience. Regretfully have had numerous root canals. Previous procedures were not pleasent but this was truly something different with Dr. Harris. Using the "Gentle Wave" procedure, I was so at ease that I fell asleep. Root Canals do not have to be painful or scary. 5 Star rating for Dr. Harris and his team.

What are the odds that you're walking out of a root canal procedure and you crack up laughing?! Not only is the equipment and care here top drawer, the office is sprinkled with visual jokes. The team is friendly, lighthearted, and kind. It's a big deal when a workplace can be fun. It's an even bigger deal when can get a root canal and leave laughing. These folks "get it." Recommend with no reservations!

The entire staff was warm and welcoming. Made me feel very at ease and comfortable the entire time. Explained all details to me and made sure I understood before moving forward with anything. Doctor Harris was great. Procedure was quick and well explained. Highly recommend!

Top Notch and fully deserving of 5 stars!!! My husband first had the pleasure to see Dr. Harris at ECE from the popcorn incident of 2020 and was so pleased with the experience. So, when my dentist couldn't get me in for a week to see their in-house Endodontist, I opted to give East Coast a call. They were so understanding of the emergency nature of my situation and were able to get me in same day and treat the tooth at the same consult appointment. Jennifer at the front desk was so welcoming. Jesse assisted Dr. Sarnowski in the root canal repair. They were both comforting and made the entire experience surprisingly pleasurable. Dr. Sarnowski made sure that I was fully numb before they started and was very transparent about each step. Evan even called today to ensure I was feeling okay and offered an after-hours line if I had any pain. Even though I have to go back for a 2nd treatment appointment I know I will be in good hands!!

For the past two months or so, I've been in pure dental hell. Long story short, at a routine cleaning I was recommended to get two crowns put on teeth to replace large fillings. Since I had those teeth prepped, I've been faced with complication after complication. The only shining light that I've had throughout this whole experience is East Coast Endodontics and Dr. Sarnowski's team. I haven't really been sleeping well considering my prolonged discomfort/pain , so when I came in for my appointment, I was a bit hysterical and teary eyed. The dental assistant, Carley, was incredibly comforting and kind. She listened to me, actually seemed to care that I was going though this, and didn't make me feel stupid for crying as a 30 year old woman. After my initial evaluation, an appointment was set up for a root canal, but my pain worsened intensely. They immediately fit me in that day for a debridement to help with the pain. When I retuned to finish the root canal, both Dr. Sarnowski and Carley even took the time to look at the gum problems that I had been having due to the other crown placement. Throughout every step of the way, I felt as though the team truly cared. Whenever I had a question, the wonderful front desk staff was easy to get ahold of and extremely kind. Following each appointment, they called to check on me as well. Ultimately, while the endodontic treatment was exceptional, the team at the office were what truly blew me away. Thank you all for listening to me, fixing my issue, and letting me cry slightly hysterically in your presence.

If you're like me, you're probably reading all the five-star reviews saying "comfortably numb" and "nothing like what I had dreaded" and thinking you're the exception. But truly, it was the same level of 'discomfort' (a little pressure and some weird noises at the beginning) as a filling, if not slightly more comfortable because of how numb you are. I was incredibly scared, and they did everything to put me at ease and make sure I understood the process before we got started. While I hope nobody ever has to get a root canal, if you do, you should come to East Coast Endodontics!

Incredible experience!! I had one prior root canal before this from a different practice. That experience was horrible, painful, and 4 hours long. It left me terrified for another root canal. The entire staff at East Coast Endodontics helped to soothe my anxiety by thoroughly explaining exactly what was happening. Even down to what sound each tool would be making so I never felt surprised. The procedure was painless and only took an hour! I can't say enough great things!! I am so pleasantly surprised by how smooth and pain-free everything went! Highly highly recommend!

I had Dr. Sarnowski and this entire team is awesome! They know what they are doing, put you at ease and take the nerves away. Painless experience every time. If you need a root canal or any endodontic work done, these are the people to go to!
