Dr. Jon Stephens was born and raised in Connecticut. He attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, and earned his BA degree in biology. Following graduation he was accepted to the University Of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine. After earning his DMD degree, he joined East Center Family Dentistry, which was also where his father, Dr. Ronald Stephens worked.
Dr. Stephens feels blessed to have had the opportunity to work side by side with his father for 10 years before he retired.Dr. Stephens is proficient in many aspects of dentistry and is always taking continuing education to keep up with all the latest improvements in materials and techniques.
He is a member of The American Dental Association, Connecticut Dental Association, and The Manchester Dental Society.Dr. Stephens and his wife Darra have two children, Jake and Sloane. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and many outdoor activities. Skiing with his family is one of his greatest passions.
Dr. John Kim is a graduate of Binghamton University earning a BA in Biology and University of Buffalo Dental School, receiving his doctorate in dental surgery. He has been with East Center Family Dentistry for over 20 years. He performs all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry using the latest methods and technologies in the dental field. Dr Kim participates in numerous continuing dental education programs and is a member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association,and the Manchester Dental Society. Dr. Kim is committed to studying and keeping up with current dental innovations.
Dr. Kim resides in Kensington, CT with his wife Jennifer and their three children Andrew, Abigail and Aaron. In his free time besides chauffeuring his kids to their various activities, he enjoys golf, tennis and painting.
Rachael started with ECFD in 2018 and LOVES our TEAM! She enjoys working with patients to help them understand the importance of dental health. She helps patients to maximize their dental benefits and understand the treatment they need and deserve. She strives to ensure all patients are comfortable and have a wonderful experience here.
Linda joined the team here at ECFD in January of 2006! Throughout her 15 years here she feels she has been given the opportunity to work with and help so many wonderful people with their dental needs.
Hi, my name is Rebecca. I've been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 25 years. I started with East Center Family Dentistry 18 years ago part-time and have been here full-time now for the past 10 years. I cannot say enough positive words about the Doctors and my Co-workers who I also consider my friends as well. I enjoy my patients and getting to know them professionally and love hearing their personal stories.
I have been in the dental hygiene field for twenty-eight years. I have called East Center Family Dental my home away from home for the last fourteen years. I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing healthy smiles to all my patients, many who feel like family. We have a great team and we are all dedicated to keeping our patients healthy with great smiles they are not afraid to show.
I've been working at ECFD for almost 20 years. I grew up in Rocky Hill, and have resided with my kids in Haddam the last 17 years. I started my dental career in 1993 with the CT Air National Guard as a dental technician. I then went to Tunxis Community Technical to earn my Dental Hygiene degree and license, graduating in 1998.
I have so much to look forward to each day and appreciate the kindness and laughs shared with wonderful patients. Our staff is also like family to me. We pride ourselves on providing care and comfort to patients in a pleasant warm environment.
Of course, I appreciate time off as well enjoying most any activity outdoors. I love the four seasons we have here in New England and I squeeze in hiking year round, biking, swimming, skiing, wake boarding and walks on the beach whenever possible.
I'm a blessed Mama with 2 teenage boys, Andrew and Luke, who continue to make me smile and cause a few grey hairs while filling my heart all at the same time! I cherish all we share together. We also have 2 doggies who love the outdoors as much or more than we do and have a sweet kitty cat.
Hi, my name is Melisa and I started my dental career in1999 as a dental assistant. Soon after I received my radiology certification. In 2008 I had my first child and became a stay at home mom with my three children. 13 years later I am very lucky to be able to come back to work in such a welcoming and positive environment!!! What I enjoy most is spending time with my husband Jim and our children Luke, Blake and Gia.
I've been a dental assistant for 10 years. I have worked at the front deskas well! I am very familiar with all types of dentistry.When not working, I enjoy spending time with my children. As a family weenjoy riding our ATVs, going out to eat at new places and traveling.I was staying home with my children for a few months and decided I'd loveto come back to work and found myself at ECFD!

TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. MY appointment was for an office visit. Dr. Couldn't help me with s tooth that needed a crown, even though they di crowns in his office. He referred me to another dentist that wasn't in my network. I called my insurance company they referred me to another dentist and my was completed by him. I now received a bill from Dr. Kim for a consultation. I called and spoke to the manager she wasn't very nice. Didn't want to hear what I had to say. Wasn't going to change to an office visit. That office is very unprofessional and I would not recommend them for anything. Evidently they only do the work they want to do.

When my former dentist retired a few years ago, I was very concerned about finding another who I liked and trusted as much. A friend referred us to East Center Family Dentistry. From the start, the staff in the front office was exceptionally helpfully in getting our records transferred over and helping with an insurance issue. I have found Dr. Kim and all of the hygienists to be very professional and considerate. Also, I have never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes for an appointment!

I have been seeing East Center Family Dentistry for years - my entire immediate family are customers of ECFD. I drive over an hour just to see ECFD due to their professionalism and care. I attempted to see a closer dentist for ease of commute a few years back and was skeptical of their treatment plan. I visited ECFD instead and told them and Dr Kim was shocked the other dentist had recommended that plan of care. I am glad they are honest, and forthcoming in their care and truly treat their clientele as family. I will come here as long as I can! The drive is worth it to me.

I have been going here for years and always appreciate the service they provide. I have never had a better dentist and hygienist. Absolutely the best. I recommend this practice to anyone who needs a dentist. All the people in the office are friendly and efficient. The waiting area is large and spotless.

I just recently switched to East Center Family Dentistry. The staff is very friendly and courteous at the front desk. The hygienists and dentists are professional and attentive. The atmosphere is overall relaxed. I highly recommend this dental practice!

I have been going to East Family Dentistry for too many years to count! Staff has always been welcoming .My experience with all the dentists on Staff has been exceptional. I am always comfortable when I go for my cleaning & dental check. My hygienist Rebecca is awesome. I leave feeling clean & refreshed.

They've been my dentists for over two decades and I am very happy to offer them a great review. All of the staff --- office, hygienists, assistants, and dentists --- are wonderful. I've had cleanings, fillings, and crowns over the years. They are extremely professional and I've had only good experiences. They are a great practice!

Absolutely fantastic. After confessing to my extreme dental anxiety, receptionist Jane suggested an early morning appt. She pointed out that I wouldn't be stressing about the appt all day and that I would be less likely to talk myself out of going. Smart! And it worked. I did show up for my appt. What's more, no need to spend extra time in the office, all new patient forms are available on their website. When I was finally in the chair, I let Lisa know about my high anxiety. She insisted I would be just fine but... what else could she have said..? My apprehension started to ease as the work she was doing proved non-threatening. Lisa must have extensive training with how to keep others' anxiety at bay. For starters, she asked if I had children. In fact, I do, I told her. Now my mind was on my daughter, not the dentist (smart). She shared with me stories about her children and family, all while efficiently and painlessly completing her part of the check-up. With a soothing tone, I listened to her, hardly aware that I was still at the place I had dreaded for so long (the dentist, that is. Not this practice). Lisa laid the foundation upon which a new, healthier attitude toward the dentist could take hold. In came Dr Stephens. "Well," I told myself, "here comes the part I dread most." But I was wrong. Commonly wrong. This was the best dental experience I have ever had. I can say with certainty that had my history with dentists been like this, the fear would have never developed into the ugly monster that kept me from coming back.

East Center Family Dentistry is the best!! The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming! It truly has that comforting feeling of a family atmosphere. The Doctors and Hygienists are professional, caring and thorough. They answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend ECFD!
