It was fantastic in beginning although after I refused to have a specific root cut out of mouth and after having to tell them it's my body I can refuse any service they canceled all of my appointments Evan as I I was still paying my monthly payment and once I showed up to appointment I'm sorry we aren't seeing you anymore because you spike rude to our students I guess controlling your body as a patient isn't on their mind it's what they feel needs to be done I am still waiting on a refund of my prepaid service that had been 3 months and 10 phone calls in and I hear we will get it out to you but still nothing Now I'm with a half finished process and very little trust in this practice

I've NEVER had such great experiences at a Dental office as I have at ECU! First, Kimberly is the most gifted - gentle and thorough Hygienist I've had in my 60+ years on the planet. I learned that Kimberly also teaches at ECU - her students are in the utmost capable hands! I also had a filling, very well done by Taylor, ably assisted by Bailey. Across the board, both Kimberly and Taylor explained what they were doing every step of the way and checked with me regularly for comfort. Thank you to everyone from the wonderful reception team to the practitioners. And no waiting - everything is on time to boot. Seriously folks, you're making me look forward to my dental appointments! More than HIGHLY recommended.

Awesome people very reasonable price. Not the kind of place you like to go to, but the kind of place you want to go to when you need to.

Wonderful experience. Brilliant students, caring instructors, very clean facility, up to date equipment and facilities onsite to build crowns and onlays. Great dental care from cleaning to major reconstruction with everything dental in-between. I highly recommend.

I have been going here for two years and was pleased . I am a hygienist and like to know in advance what is going to be done. I also like to look at the X-rays. I think that these individuals were intimidated by me but that was not my intention. So I believe that they complained to the attending about me. Yes there were times that I disagreed with their plan. But it always turned out that I was correct but I never complained about them ie; opening up an extraction site because of pain, it was a dry socket. Had to return because of extreme pain saw another dr and she irrigated and stitched but the pain persisted , can back and original irrigated and packed and stitched again. Another disagreement was when a dr wanted to make a new crown that had came off because my bite was off, it was the other side of the mouth that had to be adjusted. Dr Gorman and Dr Capprio didn't always agreement on my treatment so what is a pt to do? Oh another complaint about me was when the student gave me 5 injections to numb me to do an extraction. She call the attending and she also gave me a couple of injections. They couldn't get me numb but I didn't complain I even though there was a gash under my mandible on the lingual side from the assistant pressing a metal tongue retractor against it. It took at least two months for this to heal. So because someone didn't put in the right time for my appointment and I was showing them that I wrote it in my calendar at the time of making the appointment, I was asked to leave the clinic and escorted by a sheriff. I told them that I had a cracked root and I was going to show the dr at my appointment but Dr Capprio didn't believe me. So I feel that I was denied treatment because I had to leave the building. So this is a great place if you know nothing about dentistry and do not ask questions . Went to another dental office and found a couple of cavities and a crown with an opened margin. That said all cavities were filled.

Probable 5B6 ethics violation involving 'cleaning teeth'. The type of cleaning they gave me was completely unnecessary and therefor falls under this category. They also REFUSED to finish a root canal I paid upfront for. Owner/staff has demonstrated no interest in handling the issue, so I've edited and updated this to reflect that. So far the damages exceed $1,500 to that one tooth alone. Turnabout's fair play. I've ensured that my reviews are visible and remain visible. But now I'm moving onto social media and other platforms and interacting directly. Your facility owes me roughly $700 for a procedure I paid for and you refused to complete. I told you folks multiple times I'd be HAPPY to pay the hundred dollars for that ethics violation of a tooth cleaning. Now I'll get my $700 worth. I don't need to steal or break the law to do it, either. No, I'll just cost your business their reputation instead. Your response was to lock my charts. My response is to show your true faces. Say hey to the ADA. I mentioned the facility by name and address in my letters.

Not taking new patients. Million dollar building and not seeing new patients. Incredible. In all my years in medicine have never encountered a medical-dental practice turning away patients. Someone needs to light a fire under this whole practice and get them to start seeing new patients. Mission of the dental school is to serve under served areas like Brunswick County. ECU Dental School failing in their mission.

My husband and I go to the dental school in Lillington and have had awesome service. He has had a full upper denture and lower partial made for him there. I suggested my parents go to the school in Bolivia for my Mom's bottom partial, because it is close to them. Well, had I know that two offices could be so different, I would never have suggested Bolivia. It is the slowest, most unorganized dental office I have ever seen. Long story short, I would not recommend it to anyone!! My mother has been waiting since June 5th for the bottom partial process to be completed. It is now September 23rd and they told her today, 5 more weeks. This experience has affected her health in that she cannot eat and has lost weight, she is 86 and doesn't need to lose any weight. I contacted the college and all they said was try to resolve the issue with the Bolivia office. That has not worked and my parents and I are more than frustrated! I would have thought that a college such as ECU could do better than this. The doctors and office staff in Lillington need to show Bolivia and the college how to run a dental office!

I have been going to ECU Dental school for many years and I am so thankful for their service! Having severe dental issued, I was looking at over 50k in repairs. My wonderful dentist in Southport recommended I go to save money. I made the appointment and was seen for an initial consultation. Sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment but anytime I have had an emergency they have gotten me in within a day. Thanks to all the physicians and staff for being so helpful to me. I highly recommend ECU Dental School and their very knowledgeable staff!

Flexible when making appointments. Had to make last minute change in appointment - no problem. Short time in waiting room. Did cleaning and x-rays. Very satisfied.

For anyone from North Carolina seeking first class, affordable dental care, please read this. I have been going to ECU's dental clinic in Brunswick for 4 years, and the dental care I have received is the best. As with any publicly subsidized institutional service, it is important to be proactive and patient as you navigate through the process of becoming a client. You will be called back if you have to leave a message. Understand, the demand for a service like this is off the charts. You may have to be patient, and at times be comfortable with longer appointment lead times than you might experience with a private practice. If you are persistent however you will not be disappointed. Here's the thing: the ECU School of Dental Medicine dental clinic system is one of the best kept secrets in the world of dental care. If you want world class dentistry; want to pay 1/3 what a private practice would charge for the same work; want to make sure you are not paying for procedures you may not really need, then reach out to any one of the ECU dental clinics. To this date, I've gone to the clinic in Bolivia, but there are several clinics throughout the state of North Carolina to serve the state's residents. There's no need to go without good dental care because you cannot afford it. ECU is working very hard to make sure North Carolina residents can go to a dentist. ECU offers state of the art facilities, and some of the best trained and experienced attending dentists in the United States. I say thank you ECU and North Carolina for the forward thinking leadership which brought about the ECU dental clinic system.
