Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are made from titanium and other biocompatible materials. They are surgically implanted into the jaw, and fuse with the bone tissueover the course of three to six months. This process of the implant fusing with bone is known as osseointegration. When the site is fully healed, dental implants can support crowns, bridges, and dentures, providing an appearance and stability comparable to natural teeth.

Implants offer countless benefits over removable appliances. For one, implants are far more secure than dental adhesives. Your replacement teeth will not shift out of place while biting, chewing, or speaking. Dental implants also prevent the loss of jawbone density, a common problem that affects people with missing teeth. Left untreated, even a single missing tooth can cause the face to look sunken and aged. Bone loss will also loosen nearby teeth.

While implant surgery is safe, patients in poor health or with certain medical conditions may not be suitable for the procedure. During your visit to our Greenville area practice, we can review your medical history.

Since the dental implants are anchored directly into the jawbone, patients must have enough bone density to support the implant post. Bone grafting surgery may be necessary to add structure to support an implant.

When a patient is missing one tooth, a crown supported by a dental implant is an ideal treatment option. The crown is either screwed in place onto the implant for ease of maintenance, or it can be cemented in place depending on which tooth is missing. In addition, the crown can be made from custom-milled porcelain using the CEREC system, or from durable zirconia at an off-site dental lab.

An implant-supported bridge is recommended when a patient is missing multiple teeth in a row. The bridge will be anchored in place along the dental arch, filling the gap while also restoring normal oral function. The number of dental implants required for the bridge will depend on the location of the missing teeth. The bridge itself can be custom crafted from high-end zirconia.

Implant-supported dentures are ideal when a patient is missing most or all of their teeth. The denture is anchored in place with multiple dental implants. The exact number required will be determined by the needs of the patient and the health of their dental arch. The final custom denture will be crafted so it is virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

It is important to understand that implants are not usually covered by insurance, although your restoration might be. Earp Dentistry is in-network for most types of dental insurance and we will work hard to maximize your coverage.

Our team offers financing to help patients afford the cost of their dental implant treatment. Dental financing divides the total cost of treatment into affordable monthly installments. These manageable payment plans help many patients experience improved dental health.

First time going and I am beyond pleased! Evelyn not only made me feel at ease, but she made me feel welcomed. She was such a joy to meet, and just makes you feel so comfortable. Im glad that my coworker referred me to this office. The entire staff is just great!

If you need a bone graft, we can perform this preparatory procedure at our practice. Bone grafting will delay the placement of dental implants by a few months but it is an important step for patients who have suffered from tooth loss for an extended amount of time.

During the first oral surgery, an incision is made along the gumline to access the jawbone. The titanium implant is anchored directly into the bone. You might receive a temporary restoration at this time.

The second oral surgery takes place after osseointegration is complete. Another incision is made into the gum tissue to place the abutment. This is the connection between the dental implant and the final restoration or appliance.

Earp Dentistry uses advanced technology to improve our patients' experience in the dentist's chair and take our results to the next level. Nothing demonstrates this commitment more than our in-house CEREC milling machine. CEREC allows us to manufacture and place customized restorations such as crowns and veneers in just one office visit. We begin by taking highly precise digital impressions of your teeth with an intraoral camera and designing your restoration with our CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) software. These blueprints are then sent to the in-office milling device that carves a crown or veneer out of a solid block of porcelain in under an hour. CEREC restorations are not only more convenient but also very durable, lasting a decade or more with proper care and maintenance.

We begin by assessing your smile and oral health to ensure dental veneers are a good option for you. Tell the dentist about the aspects of your teeth you wish to change, and what you envision your results will look like. We will create a custom treatment plan that may combine additional procedures to successfully accomplish your goals.

Next, we remove a small layer of enamel to make room for the dental veneer shell to lay flush with your surrounding teeth. Then we will take digital impressions and design the veneers to fit the exact specifications of each treated tooth.

We will check to make sure the dental veneers fit well and that you're satisfied with the appearance. After making any necessary adjustments, we will bond the shell to the front surface of each tooth with a powerful dental cement. Your treatment is complete and you can begin enjoying your new smile.

Earp Dentistry - General dentist in Greenville, NC

Caring for your veneers is very simple and is much like caring for your natural teeth. Our dentists have just a few tips to help keep your restorations intact and looking beautiful for years to come...

While porcelain veneers are stain-resistant, your natural teeth are not. To maintain a consistent shade throughout your smile, stay away from darkly colored foods and drinks as well as tobacco products that are known to stain the enamel. You can also ask about occasional whitening treatments to touch up discoloration as needed.

Avoid chewing anything that is particularly hard or sticky such as ice, hard candy, and certain raw fruits and veggies. Porcelainis incredibly strong but not indestructible and can crack under extreme pressure. If you tend to grind your teeth at night, we may recommend wearing a mouth guard to prevent wearing down your restoration.

It is important to practice good dental care by brushing your teeth twice daily and flossing at least once a day. Pull the string of the floss front to back rather than up and down to avoid snagging the veneer and dislodging it from the surface of your tooth. Attend bi-annual check-ups at our Greenville or Plymouth office so we can provide a thorough cleaning and make sure your veneers are holding up well.

I was warned about this place and i really should have listened. I made an appointment for some teeth that bothered me. Dr. Earp explained that extractions and dentures was the best option for me however I explained to him that I absolutely did NOT want dentures. The day of my appointment they did extractions and took impressions. I assumed this was for something else having said i was opposed to dentures.1) I come to the counter to realize they did not verify my insurance prior to treating me. Take in mind i work at a healthcare facility. I have great dental insurance. They claimed that my insurance was not active and I was forced to pay out of pocket. Earp said they would refund my money once they solved this with my insurance. I submitted claims and after proving my insurance was in fact active the refused to refund me. 2) After that experience i refused to proceed with Earp Dentistry and i am now being charged for the services that i never had nor wanted. They are charging me for dentures I specifically stated i did not want and for extractions that i have not yet done but that would need to be done in order to finalize this denture process. Keep in mind they are threatening to sue me for dentures that i never wanted . DO NOT IGNORE THE WARNINGS about this place like I did .

Im not the one to leave a bad review but this place seems like they are only after your money. They charge you for dentures and extractions you havnt recieved only because you chose to not do your dental work with them. They did this to my boyfriend and I've been with him since the first day he visited Earp. Dr Earp made a plan for him but my boyfriend decided not to proceed because they refused to refund him money that was promised to him when the facility couldn't pull up his insurance information. Made him pay out of pocket and said "we'll refund you as soon as we verify your insurance." My boyfriend's insurance company contacted them and they refused to do so. My boyfriend should not be forced to get dental work where he doesn't feel comfortable and this place shouldn't be charging him for services he never received! The least they can do is make it right.

Dr. Earp and Ms.Karen were awesome. This was the very best Dentist experience I have ever had in my life, I really wanted to hug them both after my root canal was completed he did such an amazing job and I was so nervous before my appointment, I have a very low tolerance for pain and when he did the numbing for my gums for the procedure he was so gentle I did not even feel it. I am so grateful for them both and to have found Earp Dentistry.

Stay Away. My family has gone here for years. There is always some kind of issue with everyones teeth needing additional work done. When you have an issue and call to get an appointment, you will have to wait months even as an existing customer. Do not recommend!

The people at Earp Dentistry are just wonderful!! I had not been to the dentist for several years when I suffered an accident and broke a tooth. When I went to see Dr. Earp I was filled with much anxiety. The people at the Plymouth office treated me with such kindness I was at ease very quickly. I will no longer dread going to the dentist. Thank you Dr. Earp and Rhonda for your great service.

HORRIBLE!!! I've came here for many many years. After complaining about a root canal they did years ago they finally said they would re-crown it but I live in Greensboro so I asked for some pain medicine for the meantime. I know for a fact they thought I wanted oxycodone or something along those lines bc the way they treated me when I asked for pain medicine was outrageous!!!!! Kelly fat body was all in my face trying to fuss with me when she needs to worry about where her neck is, and Earp goofy looking self tried to prescribe me antibiotics when he clearly said it was no need for it. All I wanted was ibuprofen but bc I'm a young black women they assumed I wanted pain medicine just to sell or abuse for my own sake. He made comments like "you didn't come to the dentist for 2 years so is it really painful?" I went to dentist in the city I live and even if I didn't money could have been an issue and the reason why I didn't go. Then he told me to call the dentist to get my record from 2018-2019 as if I was lying but I don't understand how me not going to the dentist 4 years ago impacts how my tooth feels now??? My parents saw how upset I was and when they called beck to speak with someone they hung up on there face multiple times. And what's crazy is, they called in the ibuprofen so we all made a huge scene in the office for y'all to still do EXACTLY what I wanted y'all to do for what??? I have be in contact with the board and I have sent over paper work via mail explaining how I was discriminated against and also how Earp was ok with writing me a prescription when I had no infection. I was truly hurt after this experience!!!! I really want to stray away from calling them racist but they was I was treated was uncalled for.

Historically, I've hated going to the dentist but Earp employees helped me forget my trauma (lol) and I've been a patient for over two years now. I've never had a bad experience at EARP and I've had a root canal this year. Evelyn (receptionist) is welcoming and helpful and Temetra (hygienist) was gentle, efficient and thorough. Awesome service, even better people.

Absolutely awful experience with office manager & receptionist EVELYN. Unprofessional, rude and down right disrespectful. These 2 women the manger worse than the receptionist who hung up in my face as I was explaining I had to call back due to being at work then was told by her it's not up for debate called back and manager took up for her unprofessionalism and asked if she thought it was acceptable an acceptable statement of which she rudely replied it was.

Dr Earp is one of the best dentist i have ever gone to. He is the only dentist that I've ever had, to call me at my home when I got a infection in my mouth, from implants that he had done to my mouth. His receptionist Evelyn, called Dr Earp at his home after a family member of mine called Evelyn at her house over Christmas.. I had gotten food by my implant, and got infected. Dr Earp called and told me to come to his office 1st thing this morning. He's one of the best Dr's I've ever had, and really cares about his patients.. I got to say that Evelyn is a great access to his office to, cause she cared enough to get up with him to call me back.. The whole office is really kind to everyone, that goes there. Thank you Dr Earp, for putting in my implants and for caring about your patient, even after the procedure is over. Dr Earp's office is TOPS in every way..

Dental providers at this clinic seem competent but are prone to major mistakes. My dentist (I believe Dr. Mendez) failed to notice a major tooth issue of mine for years resulting in major costs later on. Still don't understand how the dentists come in and look at the X-rays / your mouth / etc and still don't see things, unless they simply aren't invested or paying attention, in which case its simply negligence. Overall poor experience.

Was told I should have a $3600 procedure by a local dentist so I decided to go to someone in network with Delta insurance as he was out of network and out of my price range. After reviewing my records Dr Earp felt that the procedure that was recommended most likely would break fairly quickly. I have always been a tooth grinder and have chipped the porcelain off of my crowns as well as ground down my own teeth. It made perfect sense. He recommended a procedure my insurance will cover in full and will not fail . I found Dr, Earps staff, friendly, courteousness and efficient. The office was immaculate and their COVID precautions exemplary and should be adapted by other medical practices. All in all I would highly recommend the entire practice and staff. By the way, today I had a tooth pulled and now four hours later I am quite comfortable and as dental visits go it wasn't bad at all.

Thank you Dr Earp, for putting in my implants and for caring about your patient, even after the procedure is over. Dr Earp's office is TOPS in every way..
