Dr. Elder loves the Santa Ynez Valley and providing the high quality dental care that he feels that everyone deserves. On a personal side, Dr. Elder is a devoted father and very active in coaching baseball from youth leagues through high school. He still competes on a national caliber men's baseball team and has played in the Men's Senior Baseball World Series for the last15 years. Dr. Elder loves to add new patients to his ever growing dental family, as well as, promoting the best oral health to his existing patients.
Andrea has worked for Dr. Elder since 2003 as his Office Manager. Patients love her genuine smile as she greets them at the front desk. She has lived in the Santa Ynez Valley for over 35 years and decided with her husband, Rob, that the Valley was the perfect place to raise theirfour children. She loves supporting her husband, while he coaches soccer and plays in his band, and their children, while playingsoccer, volleyball, dancing and competing on the SYV High School Robotics Team. She enjoys seeing and visiting with all of our patients out in the community and in our office.
Valerie has been a professional dental hygienist with Dr. Elder since 2002. She grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley and after college returned here to raise her two daughters with her husband, Brennen. She enjoys camping, wine tasting, and cookouts with friends and family. Patients appreciate her thorough, yet gentle, approach to dental cleanings and upbeat, caring attitude.
Misty is a registered dental hygienist and has been working at Dr. Elder's office since 2006. She lives in Lompoc with her husband, Rick,and two girls. She loves the outdoors: whether it's in the garden, camping at the Lake, wake boarding or just playing with her girls. She loves her job and is passionateabout keeping your mouth healthy.
Laura has workedwith Dr. Elder as his assistant since 2003. She has lived in the Santa Ynez Valley all of her life and can't imagine living anywhere else. Laura, her husband, Hugo,and theirfour children enjoy having gatherings with her extended family throughout the Valley. She loves to sing, whenever encouraged. She has a wonderful ability to make all of our patients laugh and feelat ease, like they are part of our family.
Norma joined Dr. Elder's staff in 2010 and is one of his dental assistants. She loves doting on her two children Westley and Arabella. She has been a huge help to both Laura and Andrea by assisting them with any job that requires an extra hand. She has lived in the Valley all of her life and enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. In her free time, she loves to bake, watch baseball, basketball and roots for the New York Yankees and Boston Celtics.

I have been going to Dr. Elder for years. He's a great dentist, but more importantly than that, he is kind and patient. If there is a problem, he explains what he sees, and what that might mean as a clinical diagnosis in terms I can understand. There are often several possible treatments and he explains them all clearly, with the differences between them. The decision on what to do is made together. The staff in the office are all extremely considerate and gentle. Altogether, they care about me, and that makes a tremendous difference.

I've never seen a doctor better with kids. All four of my children, with their different personalities, love Dr Elder as a dentist and a person. For 20 years he has earned the trust of our family, made the kids feel safe when they were nervous, always stands by his work, and doesn't "over-prescribe" treatment. He does what needs to be done and does it well.

In the fifteen years or so that I have been going to Dr. Elder's office I have always found it to be a good experience. Dr. Elder is very knowledgeable, listens and explains well, and is sensitive to making one's visit as pleasant as possible. The staff is very warm and friendly and I have always been seen in a timely manner.

Dr Elder is very professional, He is very patient, very thorough and very kind. He is not just a dentist, he can fix problems and mistakes that other dentists have made and give you back the mouth and the bite that you once had. When I have a question he listens and understands and explains things His staff is as nice and pleasant as he is. There is no waiting, every procedure is on time . You will not find a better dentist in this valley. I am happy to recommend him.

Dr. Elder and his staff represent the best dental service I have experienced in my lifetime, which is quite a large number of years. :-) He is skilled in helping patients avoid discomfort during dental work of all types, from fillings to root canals, and more. His hygienist, Missy, is the best hygienist I have experienced ever. She's very careful to avoid discomfort. His receptionist is warm and friendly and welcoming to everyone. He gave us a referral for our 15 year old daughter's braces, Invisiline, to a practice in Santa Barbara and we have been very pleased with that service.I recommend all of the Elder dental services all without hesitation!
