Hello, I 'm 'Dr. Joy.' I started Duxbury Children 's Dentistry in 2003 with the hope of having a small family-oriented practice in Southeastern Massachusetts. I have been welcomed into this community with open arms. I have enjoyed watching my practice grow and now am happy to say that I have had the opportunity to work with thousands of children. My practice has grown primarily through word of mouth and I appreciate everyone 's kind words.

I have wanted to be a pediatric dentist since I was 16 years old. My goals led me to graduate with honors from Allegheny College in 1996 and the UConn School of Dental Medicine in 2000. I have been very involved in community service, educational organizations, leadership positions, and worked with children in homeless shelters. As a dental student I developed and organized an organization to help children in the Hartford, CT area and won a grant to help fund the group. When I graduated I won my class award for excellent devotion to children and dentistry. After dental school I successfully completed a competitive didactic and clinical pediatric dental residency in 2002 at UConn. I am proud to have been the recipient of the South Shore Stars Top 40 under 40 award for 2012

During my residency I published a case report entitled, 'Acute Onset of Bells Palsy in a six year old child with Lyme Disease' and also won the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry national table clinic award for this paper and presentation in 2002. This was such an honor and something I am most proud of in my career. I also completed an epidemiological study about the etiology of reasons why children present to the emergency room for dental issues.

I have received extra training in the areas of oral pathology, esthetic dentistry, radiology and use of the palatal expanders and the Modified Tandem appliance to treat Class III malocclusions. I incorporate all of these into my practice every day and enjoy working to diagnose and solve issues that children experience.

Many of my patients have seen me grow from a young dentist to a now happily married mother of two wonderful children. Being a mother has changed my view of dentistry... especially when I bring my own children in to have their cleanings and dental care. My hobbies include traveling, home improvement projects, decoration and design, walking, boating, animals and spending time with my friends and family.

My goal, every day, is to be creative and caring. I think of dentistry as a way of teaching and want to give children a chance to see the easier side of dentistry. Dentistry is the combination of art, science, education, psychology, and humor. I laugh every day. I love my staff and am so appreciative of the hard work and effort that goes into a successful day. I love my patients. I love the drawings, the hugs, the gifts, the little eyes looking around for me when they come in. I love walking into a room and having the child turn around and open their mouth on cue without me even asking. I love calming a nervous child. I love showing a child how brave they can be. I love changing a parents view of the dentist. I love seeing my patients grow from children to teenagers. I love hearing some patients tell me that they want to become a dentist when they grow up. I love being 'Dr. Joy.'

Hi everyone. I'm Dr. Kierstin. I joined Duxbury Children's Dentistry in 2007, after moving to Massachusetts. I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I received a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Skidmore College, as well as two minors in dance and environmental studies. I earned my DMD from The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, I received the merit award from the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

After graduation, I completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. As Chief Resident, I earned a certificate in administering intravenous sedation. I then spent two years in private practice, while holding a clinical instructor position at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. I received my specialty training in pediatric dentistry from Long Island Jewish Medical Center. I was selected as Chief Resident, and had the opportunity to obtain extensive training in craniofacial abnormalities, oral sedation, and oral rehabilitation in the operating room. I was part of the interdisciplinary team for cleft lip and palate, and instrumental in fabricating nasoalveolar molding appliances for newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit at Schneider Children's Hospital. I have volunteered at Special Olympics Special Smiles for several years, and participated with Give Kids A Smile program. I have held operating room privileges at Franciscan Children's Hospital in Brighton, MA since 2008.

It has been a privilege to be able to create a comfortable and friendly environment for patients to feel at ease and enjoy their dental experience. My goal is to ensure that children no longer fear going to the dentist. In my spare time I enjoy activities such as skiing, biking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends. We enjoy living on the South Shore because of the proximity to the beach and city. We especially like going to Boston for the day or a great meal in the North End. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children.

Hello everyone, I am Dr. Amanda and I am thrilled to be a part of Duxbury Children's Dentistry! I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. As a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, I was honored by the ABPD with the Richard Pugh Award for scoring in the top 3% in the nation on the comprehensive Written Board Examination.

I am originally from Massachusetts where I developed an early interest in both medicine and pediatrics. The inspiration to pursue dentistry came during my own orthodontic treatment as a teenager. In 2001, I graduated with a degree in Neuroscience from Smith College, earning multiple academic honors.

I attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2008 at the top of the class. During my time at Tufts I became very involved with community outreach programs focusing on childrens oral health. I was able to volunteer for the Special Olympics, Special Smiles program; educated students at numerous Boston area elementary schools, helped develop the now annual 'Tooth Day at Fenway Park', and taught expectant parents at New England Medical Center about oral health during pregnancy and infancy. I was also awarded numerous honors and scholarships as a dental student, some of which include National Board Honors, Tufts Merit Scholarships, Clinical Excellence Award in Endodontics, American Academy of Periodontology Achievement Award, and the Alpha Omega Award. Upon graduation, I was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

I received my specialty training in pediatric dentistry at UConn/Connecticut Children's Medical Center. During my residency I gained extensive experience in providing dental care for well and special needs children and adolescents. My training also included caring for patients with conscious sedation techniques, oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia, and interceptive orthodontics.

I love being a friendly face for an anxious child and I strive to help them develop healthy oral habits that will last a lifetime. I believe every child deserves a chance to feel safe and comfortable in the dental office, and my expertise, compassion and patience allow me to provide the best care for our patients. Being a mom, I strive to make recommendations for my patients based on how I would want to treat my very own children. Outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband and our three sweet children.

After attending Amherst College, I decided to pursue dentistry as Iwished to contribute to a meaningful and personally enjoyable profession that would improve people's health. At Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, I held leadership positions in its chapters of the American Association of Women Dentists and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry. I also served as a student liaison to the faculty and received several awards including Academic Merit Scholarships, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Certificate of Merit Predoctoral Student Award, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine Certificate of Merit. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. After Tufts, I completed my specialty training in pediatric dentistry at UConn/Connecticut Children's Medical Center.I was delighted to return to the South Shore, as I was raised in Hingham and attended Milton Academy.

I enjoy educating patients, parents, and the public about the importance of prevention of dental disease and how to manage dental injuries. I strive to create a friendly and welcoming environment for children to receive dental care. One of the special joys of being a pediatric dentist is helping patients overcome anxiety and watching them leave our office with confidence and even bigger smiles!

In my free time I enjoy reading, photography, zumba, swimming, and traveling. Most important, I love spending time with family and friends, especially my husband and dog; we are expecting our first child in June 2020!

My gmail account is under my maiden name. My children have my married name. I assure you; my children have been here and it was so awful I needed to write a review so that other families can get second or even third opinions for their own due diligence. Do not recommend. We needed dental surgery. My children and I had 3 different consultations and they were the worst and confirmed by two other dental practices in the area of Boston. The other two places were highly offended at what this particular place recommended and offered to call the board. Staff and owner alike are condescending and rude when I said I'd like to get a second opinion as if they were the end all be all. When the second place told me how concerned they were about this place I went to a third place to confirm. Beware and always get a second or third opinion.

We've been with DCD for a long time and feel lucky to have such a great dental practice so close to home. We LOVE Trish. She is always so welcoming and helpful whenever we have questions from treatment to billing.

Beyond happy that a friend introduced us to this office. I have 4 kids 22-7yrs old, and have never been to a better office. From the 1st visit, I knew this was the atmosphere I wanted for my daughter. They have all the values I consider important; everyone is caring, compassionate, and patient with the kids and parents. What child gets a filling and has no idea they received a needle of Novocaine? Mine, because they make it their mission to go above and beyond so children are comfortable. Keep up the good work! Oh and icing on the cake, a homemade pillow for the Tooth fairy :)

We love DCC! We've been going since my son's very first dental appointment (he's now 11) and have never had a problem. DCC pointed us toward our orthodontist as well (Dr. Ryan) and we are very happy with the experiences we've had there. My only recommendation would be to add more parking! It's great that the practice is expanding but the Tremont facility cannot handle more people needing to park. Things get ugly in that lot, especially with the snow making things more cramped!

Great dentists, dental assistants and office staff who are highly skilled at what they do but are kind and patient with my boys. My boys are relaxed and love the atmosphere of their dentist's office, there's lots to see and do here - fish tank, touch screen stations, kid's books and magazines. Not your run of the mill medical office - It's like going to Disney - people are warm and friendly. My boys are getting excellent medical care here and we always feel welcomed. Thank you!

I love this place. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating to children with disabilities. Also, the waiting room is absolutely awesome with ipads and games for children to occupy them and keep their minds off the stress of dental procedures. Highly recommend.

1st rate from the minute you walk in the door. Office is clean, well organized, kid friendly and modern. Office and dental staff are knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. Dr. Ryan is straight forward and honest in terms of cost and I am always confident upon leaving that my children have just received the best orthodontic care possible!!
