Dr. Bruner began specializing in orthodontics in 2002. Before orthodontics, Dr. Bruner attended Loma Linda University where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. After serving in the U.S. Army Dental Corps as a general dentist and flight surgeon for the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Dr. Bruner left general dentistry in order to become a specialist in orthodontics. Dr. Bruner graduated with his masters degree and specialty certificate in orthodontics from the University of Louisville. After completing his last tour of duty, where he served as the Chief of Orthodontics at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Major Bruner and his family returned home to Redmond, Washington.
In July of 2007, Dr. Bruner purchased the orthodontic practice of Dr. Stanley Gile, who happened to be Dr. Bruners childhood orthodontist. The practice remains singularly focused on providing outstanding, compassionate care in a fun and family-friendly environment. The office is committed to using the latest, most technologically advanced and efficient treatment materials available today. These include braces with the Pitts 21 System, the Damon System and orthodontic treatment with Invisalign. The investment in technology and systems in our office works to make your orthodontic treatment as fast and comfortable as possible.
Dr. Bruner is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Hawaiian Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association and the Seattle King County Dental Society. Dr. Bruner also served as a member of the recognized cleft lip and palate team in Hawaii and as a mentor in two ADA-accredited residency training programs. Currently Dr. Bruner continues to give back to the orthodontic profession as an adjunct professor teaching the next generation of dentists that are training to become orthodontists at UNLVs Orthodontic Residency Program.
Dr. Bruner was born and raised in Redmond. He went through the Lake Washington School Districts Quest program in elementary school, Rose Hill Junior High and graduated from Interlake High School in Bellevue. He met his wife Kathryn in college at Pacific Lutheran University, in Tacoma, WA. They have been married for 25 years, have three kids (Chaz, Hannah, and Malia), and enjoy living in Redmond. Dr. Bruner is actively involved in church, loves sports and music, and enjoys spending time with his family. He is also passionate about orthodontics and loves to make a difference in the lives of his patients.
Dr. Lindsey Helgen is passionate about orthodontics and loves providing the best care possible for her patients in Redmond and Duvall. Dr. Helgen has had extensive training making her an expert in her specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She provides comprehensive orthodontic care with braces and Invisalign and enjoys treating patients of all ages.
Dr. Helgen was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Bellevue High School. An avid Husky fan since birth, she attended the University of Washington, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She then decided to pursue her dental education on the East Coast, attending the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, in Philadelphia. With a passion for orthodontics from an early age, Dr. Helgen was thrilled to be selected for specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Helgen has always enjoyed giving back to the community. During dental school, she planned several blood drives, health fairs, and multiple fundraisers for various charities. She also regularly provided dental screenings and oral health education for homeless women and children in the Philadelphia area throughout dental school and her orthodontic residency.
Dr. Helgen is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association, Washington State Society of Orthodontists, and the Seattle King County Dental Society. Dr. Helgen is actively involved in continuing education.

We have patients that routinely seek us out for their orthodontic care and travel from Bothell-Everett, Monroe, Duvall, Carnation, Fall City, and Issaquah.
Although our state-of-the-art facility was built in 2009 and remodeled in 2014, the office has been in the same location since it began with Dr. Gile in 1980. The Bear Creek Professional Center has ample parking and is easy to find.

We loved our experience at Duvall Ortho and highly recommend them! Dr Helgen and all the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and always smiling. My 11 yr old son said, 'Thank you guys! I really enjoyed my time having braces because I can tell it helped a lot with my teeth and my smile. I would like to thank all of the orthodontists that helped me and persevered me. I remember the first time with braces on and I thought it was the worst thing ever but it turned out to be the best. I would recommend it to anyone that needs it because it has such a big impact. My 10 year old daughter had braces for almost a year and included several months in an expander. This is her review: I really like Bruner Ortho and I would recommend it to my friends because the staff here is really nice and they take their time and don't rush. Dr. Bruner and Dr. Helgen are really nice and kind with their patients. I loved having my braces and putting colors on them. I also loved my expander. Thank you for getting my teeth straight Bruner Ortho! My review: I can't say enough nice things about Bruner Of. From the moment we walked in the door, and every interaction thereafter, we felt welcomed. It reminded me of my hotel days - how we were trained to go out of our way to remember our guests, make them feel like they were at home, and give them the best experience possible. They did this so well and so naturally. Thank you to each and every person at both offices for giving my daughter the best care over the last year!

I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Bruner's. They have a great staff who are all very friendly and skilled at their work. I always had a pleasant time coming to my appointments. We have been going to Bruner Orthodontics for years since all 3 of my kids have had their teeth straightened by Dr. Bruner and Dr. Helgen. They are both amazing orthodontists and they care about your teeth as well as you as a person. They use the Damon braces which look really nice and you don't have to go into the office as often as regular braces. We loved them and the end results were awesome!! The office and staff are so nice and they worked with my schedule which was so necessary when I was trying to juggle 3 kids and work. They treat you like family and I would highly recommend them if you are considering getting you or your kids teeth straightened. Book a consultation with them and you will see what I'm talking about. You will be so happy you did!!

Duvall Orthodontists and Dr. Heljen did a wonderful job with my daughters braces! The office is professional yet so friendly. When my daughter got her braces off they celebrated by singing, gave her a personalized cake and gifts! My husband is a retired dentist and is knowledgeable of orthodontia and he completely trusted the treatment they provided. Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do!
