Periodontal disease is one of the most common oral health issues that we see amongst our patients. The condition most often affects adults who are over 30 years old, but anyone can develop periodontal disease. Routine dental examscan help prevent periodontal disease.

We understand that going to the dentist twice a year for a cleaning may seem like a lot, but preventing periodontal disease is actually good for your health in general. Several studies have been conducted amongst men and women who have periodontal disease, and the results indicate periodontal disease is linked to heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and other medical conditions.

Brushing and flossing your teeth should be relaxing and free of stress. Seeing blood when you take care of your teeth is not something that just happens. Bleeding gums are typically the first sign of periodontal disease.

Periodontal disease destroys the bone that holds your teeth in place. Scaling and root planning, a type of deep dental cleaning, can remove the bacteria and plaque below the gum line. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to restore the bone that is lost as a result of periodontal disease. Your tooth is more susceptible to problems in the future, and you may need to see a dentist as well as a periodontist for your cleanings. In some cases, this means having your teeth cleaned every three months instead of every six months.

Even though you have some bone loss around your teeth, you can save the affected tooth. You should ensure that you brush and floss at least twice each day, and your dentist may recommend small brushes that fit between your teeth. Once you are diagnosed with periodontal disease, start to pay close attention to any changes in your teeth.

Super friendly staff. Kathy Jo is an excellent hygienist and super nice. The office is well run with no waiting. But most important you will never get work done that you don't need done!

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Goldstine for over 20 years. We have recommended the office and sent many new patients to Dutchneck Dental (including a family member who commutes one hour to see him). It's certainly the top dental practice in the Mercer and Middlesex County area. The front desk is extremely friendly and professional. The system they use to remind one of scheduled appointments is second to none. Emails, texts, etc. And If you do not respond to either of those methods you'll wind up with a good old personal phone call. They're also very good at scheduling your appointments - the actually listen to your preferred time of day and day of the week...and do their best to hit those times or to explain to you what alternate times may get you in sooner. The dental hygienists are the best in the area. You can't go wrong with any of them. All do completely thorough 45 minute routines - not found many places these days. And they all do thorough oral, neck, and thyroid cancer screens. It is one of the best things you can do to protect yourself. Dr. Goldstine takes his time. He'll go so far as to draw on the tray liner to help you understand a procedure he might advise. He listens. And he's also trained in occlusion -- getting your 'bite' as good as it can get. Not simply ok to file down a tooth that is 'too high or too low' -- he examines and makes adjustments to your teeth based on the way that you chew. DND is one of the professionals in our lives that we 100% recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I am not happy with their front desk. They need to communicate better with their appointments. In addition, I am not happy with my cleaning. It wasn't thorough enough. It's time to find a new dental office.

We get reminders to make our appointment and when I make the appointments for our family and take the day off from work they tell me it's not time for me to get a cleaning. This is all the while I drove to their parking lot and they tell me this! (The day of my appointment)!! Totally unacceptable and unprofessional. If you want to waste your time go here if not I strongly recommend you find a dental office that has their appointment scheduler well trained. BE WARE!

I've been a patient of Dr. Goldstine's for about three years, and only wish I had started coming to Dutch Neck Dental sooner! Dr. Goldstine is an excellent dentist, and I really appreciate the office's willingness to work with folks who lack regular dental insurance. I'd highly recommend Dr. Goldstine to anyone looking for a new dentist in the area!

I just started about a year ago with this practice as a patient, having visited twice with acute problems and once for a routine visit. When I had cracked teeth (old fillings plus unfortunate food choices) they squeezed me in & took care of my problems - I'm very grateful for that. I find the staff caring and efficient, I'll even say fun people. I like Dr Goldstein - candid, efficient, a nice guy. I worked with my prior dentist for many years and was worried I would find a "new" practitioner I'd be ok with - I am very happy with this group. Jan '22 update: still very happy. I went for a routine checkup, had a minor problem with floss getting stuck in a spot - really minor - they took the time to listen, did something magical in my mouth & voila, floss doesn't stick there anymore. I really like these folks.

Dr. Goldstine and his staff are extremely helpful and professional. They care about their patients and it shows. Even though we are in uncertain times, their practice was still willing to see patients who needed more immediate attention and provided me relief.

I am a new patient of the practice and I wanted to wait until I've had a few visits before rating them, but - they're amazing. The entire staff is so informative and friendly. The doctor is professional, down to earth and straight forward. So happy I found this place!

Great experience! From the time I entered to the time I left it was a 100% fabulous experience! I was a new patient, with no cavities, just in for a cleaning. I was pleasantly greeted, politely asked to hand in my paperwork, them promply taken in for my appointment time. My dental hygenist, Mollie, was friendly, polite, and pleasant! And she did job of cleaning my teeth while talking when appropriate! She even made me laugh...Which sometimes isn't easy in that dental chair! Great job all around! Can't wait for my next cleaning! I may even think about getting braces! Lol!

I can't say enough good things about this dental office. Everyone is very professional, polite and friendly and the dentist is thorough and clearly highly experienced. I may have to pay a bit more to go here but it's worth every penny.

Everyone at their office treats you so friendly and they have lot of courtesy towards not only on the patients but also on the people who escorts them. They provide so much warmness and comfort. I highly recommend this place. My little one was very much comfortable in their hands. Both the doctors are so amazing.
