Dr. Angela Pinkerton was raised in small town Kentucky and started her career in dentistry after graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2000 by serving in the United States Navy. As a naval officer, she cared for active duty and family members in Norfolk Virginia, mainland Japan, Soeul Korea, and Okinawa. She alsoreceived an Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2001 and completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University and Riley Whitcomb Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis in 2004 during her time in the service.
With three children and a yearning to be rooted in a community, Dr. Pinkerton separated from the military. Having the ability to choose anywhere in the United States to live, she chose Durango to be her family's new home. Beautiful mountains, historic value, a river to kayak, and amazing community members in Durango are hard to resist!
Dr. Pinkerton associated with Dr. Larry Suazo and Dr. Doug Holmes under Animas Pediatric Dental Group and in 2012, she purchased the Durango office from the parent company to establish Durango Kids Pediatric Dentistry.
Like most Durangotangs, Dr. Pinkerton enjoys four seasons of outdoor activities; whether it is skiing at Purgatory, music festivals in Telluride, art galleries in town, or floating the Animas River. She is very active in the Colorado Dental Association and was the San Juan Basin Dental Society President for 3 years.

Both doctors are amazing and work well with children. Dr. Pinkerton is who has done my children's dental work and has always been very thorough and reassuring during the process. She was amazing when my daughter had to go under anesthesia for some dental work and answered all of my questions along with making me feel comfortable during the process. I am very thankful for a doctor who cares about my children like they are hers when they are in her care. Along with amazing doctors, they also have amazing dental hygienists who are great with children of all ages, they are patient and kind. The front desk girls are also very accommodating and even when there was a mistake in scheduling they took action and were able to fit us in the same day, as they understood we traveled from pagosa to Durango. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming and I wouldn't choose any other place to take my children, I know they are in good hands here. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to your patients. It shows!

If I could give endless stars, I would. Dr. Suazo and his assistant were the most amazing kind reassuring dental team I've ever dealt with. My daughter who is 4 was a little nervous going into her appointment this am, as any child is. However with the inviting nature of the entire staff and especially dr suazo and his sweet assistant, her mind quickly went to ease. They talked to my girl every step of the way, made sure she was aware of everything that was happening, she was smiling walking out of their office. That NEVER happens--Look absolutely no further. This is the greatest dentist for your children. I will recommend them to all friends and family. Thank you!!

Never even went here, but tried. The wait time for an appointment is very long! We had to book 3 months out as a new patient, then were sick when our appointment was supposed to be and had to wait another 3 months. Angela left me a VM today saying the normal wait is 6 months! We ended up at Mason Minor DDS within days of calling.

I highly recommend! My toddler had the best experience & is no longer scared to go to the dentist. Unfortunately, the dentist we went to before did not do a good job and tainted our expectations overall. My kids love everyone in this office! They really take the time to relate to your kid and make it a fun time! Have been going for 6 years with 3 kids, and have always had a pleasant experience!

Doctor was harsh towards me when I entered the room to comfort my baby neighbour. Also harsh in telling me not to touch the toys. I understand this pandemic is stressful but she could have been more tactful.
