Dr. Belt enjoyed woodworking in his fathers garage when he was a young man which led him into the field of carpentry early in life. During his college years, he worked as a concrete finisher and framer to help fund his schooling. While completing his Associates degree in paramedicine, Dr. Belt was hired on with the Idaho Falls Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic. Working as a paramedic, Dr. Belt found his interest in medicine had grown to the point that he felt motivated to return full time to school in order to pursue a pre-med degree. In 2004, Dr. Belt completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelors of Science in zoology from Idaho State University. Dr. Belt felt that Dentistry would be the perfect marriage of the hand skills acquired during years of woodworking and carpentry with his newly acquired interest in applied medicine. He was then privileged to attend and complete his DMD degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Dental School in 2008. Since that time, he has worked in a number of different private practice environments which have added skill and depth to his clinical capabilities.
Dr. Belt feels fortunate to live and play in Durango where adventure can be had from the mountains to the desert. In his spare time, Dr. Belt spends as much time as possible exploring all of the natural treasures in Durangos own backyard with his wife and 5 children.
