Dr. Hedlund received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tulsa and his Doctorate of Dental Science Degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. He completed his General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Georgia prior to forming a private dental practice in Dunwoody, Georgia. He is a Professional Member of Georgia Dental Association (GDA), the Northern District (GA) Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
He attends the Norcross Study Club, known in the Atlanta area as one of the premier educational forums for dental practitioners to keep up to date on recent developments regarding dental implants and other advanced dental techniques. Dr. Hedlund has received advanced training through many continuing education programs, the most prestigious of which is the famed Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Married to Angie Gribble Hedlund, DMD, the couple have two children, Victoria and Alexandra, with whom he shares his love of the outdoorssnow skiing, hiking, fishing and trips to the beach to name a few. He also enjoys landscape design, music and football.

Very nice dental office. Modern clean office. The dentist and all his staff was very helpful. Gentle teeth cleaning. Update 2022... We moved last year and needed a new dentist. New dentist is okay. Dr. Hedlund in Dunwoody is our gold standard dentist and so is all his staff. If you live near Dunwoody and want the very best Dentist...go see him.

Extremely thoughtful, professional and accommodating. From the scheduling, to greeting me as a new patient, the team explained special details of their practice, but also executed the basics of general dentistry quite well. My family will certainly return!

I just started going to Dunwoody Dental Smiles and I am very pleased for making the change. They are so friendly, thorough and professional. Before the appointment, they calculated every detail of my bill and thus I knew exactly what my portion of the bull was going to be. They answered every question that I posed to them and they explained we very step they took during the procedure. I highly recommend them!

Had my first appointment at Dunwoody Dental Smiles and was quite impressed with the staff professionalism, friendliness, and thoroughness. All my questions were answered and I learned more about the workings of my insurance just at that first visit than in the past four years at the other dental office! I am definitely returning! Not sure why there are so many positive reviews here but the dentist here is quite rude. The doctor tried to pressure me to get an unnecessary filling on my two front teeth which I said I'd prefer not to. He kept using condescending language like "do you understand?" and "are you aware?". I stood firm and I could feel he was actually getting angry at me for my decision. Later on in the appointment, he asked me where I went to school. When I told him Georgia Tech, he was suddenly so much nicer and stopped chastising me about getting the filling. It's uncomfortable that he treats his patients so differently based on what educational background they have. Fast forward two years, my two front teeth are perfectly fine and there are no signs of decay. Below is a picture of me and my teeth last week. Why would the doctor try to force me to get a filling then?
