I love orthodontics because of the affect I can have on my patients self-esteem and overall wellbeing. There is nothing quite sospecial as seeing my patients excitement as their smile is transformed right before their eyes. It has been consistently shown that a beautiful and healthy smile is key to self-confidence and ultimately a chance at a successful, happy life. I feel honored to be able to serve others in this way.

I began my education at the University of Minnesota, majoring in engineering. During the summer of my sophomore year while selling books door-to-door to earn tuition money, I called on a dentist who was home for the morning. He described to me what I thought was the ideal profession. That fall I changed my major to pre-dentistry. Ironically, though my grandfather was a dentist in Japan, I hadnt thought about dentistry as a career before that encounter.

After completing my undergraduate education, I was accepted into the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Four years later, I graduated from dental school near the top of my class and as a result decided to pursue the very selective specialty of orthodontics.I was accepted into the University of Minnesota orthodontic program and completed my residency in 1991.

For more than 28 years, I have been continuously honing my skills and studying the latest research in order to provide my patients with the very best care possible. Continuing education benefits my patients by allowing me to apply the most recent research and developments in the field of orthodontics to their treatment. I believe that constant learning is necessary to provide the best treatment possible at the current state of the art and I feel I owe that to my patients who entrust me with their orthodontic care.

In addition to continuing my education, I have also gone through the very rigorous testing to become a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. I am also a member of the following professional organizations:

A native Minnesotan from Anoka, I followed my wife Lisa to the east metro and have lived in Maplewood,Woodbury and Afton for the past 23years. Lisa and I have four children, all at various stages of leaving the nest, twograndchildren and a dog namedLou.

Fitness is a passion of mine, as I try to fend off the march of time and its effects on the body. Ive participated in the worldwide CrossFit Games twice, whose intent is to find the fittest on earth. I am currently being trainedbymy kinesiologist son Ralph at Opex Woodbury. I also participate in various outdoor activities includinghiking, biking, camping, and hobby farming.

In addition to helping patients smile in the office, I take my commitment to smiles into the community as well. I am a provider for Smiles Change Lives, through which I provide free orthodontic treatment for deserving patients in my area. I also donate a free treatment to a worthy patient each year during the holidays through my Gift of a Smile program.

Andrea started working in orthodontics immediatly after graduating from the dental assisting program back in 2008. She joined the Dunn Ortho team in May of 2016. Andrea is passionate about educating our fmailies on the importance of having a healthy bite and the gift of a confident smile!

Andrea lives in Cottage Grove with her husband Dan, their daughter Teagan, and their son Landon. Their dog Jersey rounds out their family. Andrea enjoys painting and just spending time with family and friends.

When Shari joined our practice in spring of 2018, she was new to the field of orthodontics. So far, her favorite thing about working in orthodontics is the relationships shes building with our patients and their families.

Shari lives in Hastings with her husband Farrel, their two beautiful daughters Brooklyn and Berlyn, their dogs Remington and Oakley. She also is very involved at her church and finds great purpose in serving others.

Steph lives in Cottage Grove with her husband Jeff and their two boys Ben and Alex. She likes to spend time with her family playing board games but when shes has time to herself she enjoys a good book with a glass of wine.

Tisha started at Dunn Ortho in 2019 after being the dental field for eight years. She graduated from Century College in 2011, where she was selected as the most outstanding student of the year. Her role at Dunn Ortho involves helping patients better understand their treatment plans and creating amazing relationships between the team and the families.

Renee starting working in orthodontics in 1992 and joined Dr. Dunns team in 2016. There is not a role in the office Renee does not know how to perform. Her positive energy and warm demeanor are a comfort to her patients. She loves everything about working in orthodontics but particularly helping a patient get started on their journey to a healthier and happier smile!

Renee lives in Cottage Grove with her husband Ted and her two daughters Abbie and Amanda while they attend college. Keep an eye out for her at the local dog parks with her girls Riley, Wilma, and Jozie!

Since 2008, Shannon has been an important part of the Dunn Ortho team, working with our patients directly to help them towards a better smile. She assists Dr. Dunn chair-side with any and all procedures with patients.

Sarah has been with Dunn Ortho since 2011. She originally chose to work in the field because she likes to be a part of creating beautiful smiles. She also enjoys the relationships that are developed not only with the patients but the entire family.

Sarah lives in Woodbury with her husband Peter, their two girls Evelyn and Amelia, and their dog Winston. Sarahs time outside the office is spent driving her girls to and from the dance studio and she wouldnt change a thing about it!

Marissa started with the Dunn Ortho team in April 2019, after graduating from DCTC in 2015. She enjoys working with the most nervous of our patients and making them feel comfortable during a new experience.

Ciara is a former patient of Dr. Dunns. After falling in love with her own braces, Ciara recently graduated from Herzing University from the dental assisting program. She joined our team in August, 2019 after completeing her internship with our office. At work, she helps people to love their smile by highlighting all of the positive progress that has been made.

Orthodontics chose me! says Mary Lou. Upon graduating from dental assisting school in 1977, she was offered a position as an orthodontic assistant. She loves to see the increased confidence that comes from a great smile.
