Dr. Paul Dunkling received his DDS degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1982. Following dental school, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. Post-residency, Dr. Dunkling decided to stay in the area and opened offices in Burlington and Jericho, Vermont.
Dr. Dunkling has had the privilege of studying under the guidance of internationally recognized educators and researchers in the field of dentistry. He is an alumnus of a number of post-doctoral programs including the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute for advanced dental studies and the LSU Cosmetic Dentistry Continuum in New Orleans, LA. He is an active member of the American Dental Association , the Vermont State Dental Society , the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry .
Dr. Greg Penney was born and raised in Labrador City, Newfoundland, Canada. He received his DDS degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2003. After graduation, Dr. Penney became one of only a handful of people who 'moved south' to Vermont and in 2004 completed a General Practice Residency with Fletcher Allen Health Care. Since then, Dr. Penney has continued his studies, training in postgraduate courses for dental implants, grafting, cosmetic dentistry (including Lumineers), and many other general dentistry procedures.
Dr. Penney is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Vermont State Dental Society (VSDS) and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) in which he is currently working towards obtaining an Associate Fellowship.

Such a friendly group and so knowledgeable, people often are so petrified of the dentist but their calm positive way of support is so appreciated. I highly recommend this dental practice.

I'm a new patient with several issues, including extreme sensitivity, and everyone at this practice was super nice and professional. Dr. Penney was awesome. He did a most thorough exam and was cautious not to cause me any pain. He explained everything I could expect in detail, taking a great deal of time with me. The office is in a beautiful old Victorian and is very modern, comfortable and clean. I feel confident in the care I will receive here and would highly recommend this practice. I am updating this review as I recently moved to Massachusetts and had the unfortunate experience of going to a corporate-type dental practice, where the hygienists are known by letter (A, B, C etc) I suppose due to high turnover. The exam was rushed and the dentist was more interested in how much insurance I have than anything else. You can't go wrong with Dr. Penney! Everyone at this practice is professional and welcoming, and I never felt rushed. Dr. Penney always greeted me with a smile and asked how I was feeling and what my concerns might be. He thoroughly explained everything that he was doing and always listened to my thoughts regarding treatment and made suggestions. Diane understood how sensitive my teeth are and was careful not to cause any discomfort during cleaning. I will miss this practice and if it wasn't a 5 hour drive away, I would not hesitate to go back.

What a breath of fresh air! I had my first appointment with Dr. Penney yesterday and it was the most relaxing, most informative dental appointment I've ever been to. Dr. Penney and his staff were incredibly professional and friendly, and did a very thorough initial exam. I look forward to my next appt (never thought I'd say that about a dentist appt)!

I'm a relatively new patient, yet my experience has been good thus far. I got my first crown ever, they did a really good job with the final product. The process was a little more painful than I would have liked but overall it was a positive encounter. Cleanings with Jodi are always great - thanks Jodi! Dr. Greg is direct and practical. He tells you like it is and does good work. The admin staff are capable and friendly, and make their processes quick and easy. The other staff I've met or worked with have been friendly and helpful. I'm satisfied with their services, out of pocket prices are high but seem reasonable compared to other dentists I've worked with. I would recommend Penney & Dunkling.

I have been very pleased with the care I have received. I originaly started with the with the office after losing a crown. They got me right in and worked with me on the insurance, as I had recently switched companies.The experience was very smooth and during the follow up cleaning it was discovered an old filling needed to be replaced. They checked with my insurance company informed me of the co-payment, about a month after the work I received what a bill for another 27 dollars, when I went by the office to pay it,( they have free parking) the very pleasant person at the desk told me that it was a credit. I was so used to bills being higher than expected, so I had not read the letter and just assumed I owed money. That was a nice surprise not only was the co-pay less than what my insurance company said it would be, but they notified me, and offered me a refund instead of just holding on to my money.

They have been my dentistry for 24 years, first in Jericho and now 20 years in Burlington. Great personalized service, they take their time to explain everything, always have he latest technology with screens, cameras, 3D scanners. Affordable, too, and mindful of your annual insurance limits to minimize your cost. I have referred coworkers over the years who have also been very pleased and stayed with them.
