Dr. Paul Dunkling received his DDS degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1982. Following dental school, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. Post-residency, Dr. Dunkling decided to stay in the area and opened offices in Burlington and Jericho, Vermont.
Dr. Dunkling has had the privilege of studying under the guidance of internationally recognized educators and researchers in the field of dentistry. He is an alumnus of a number of post-doctoral programs including the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute for advanced dental studies and the LSU Cosmetic Dentistry Continuum in New Orleans, LA. He is an active member of the American Dental Association , the Vermont State Dental Society , the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry .
Dr. Greg Penney was born and raised in Labrador City, Newfoundland, Canada. He received his DDS degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2003. After graduation, Dr. Penney became one of only a handful of people who 'moved south' to Vermont and in 2004 completed a General Practice Residency with Fletcher Allen Health Care. Since then, Dr. Penney has continued his studies, training in postgraduate courses for dental implants, grafting, cosmetic dentistry (including Lumineers), and many other general dentistry procedures.
Dr. Penney is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Vermont State Dental Society (VSDS) and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) in which he is currently working towards obtaining an Associate Fellowship.

I recently became a new patient and very happy with my experience. Dr Dunkling is so reassuring and very personable. He goes over everything very thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable. I've had a great experience with his assistants Brittany and Hannah!

Who likes going to the dentist? Me! No, the procedure is not the most fun but Dr. D. And his staff always Make the experience such a pleasant one. I could not imagine going anywhere else and being treated better!

I was very impressed by the thoroughness and professionalism at Dunkling and Penney. We moved from another area and there is a big difference in dental practices for sure. They explain everything and lay out any treatment plans and their costs so there are no surprises. Highly recommend this practice!

An excellent locally run dentist office. Friendly staff, and they take the time to explain your options for care to you. I moved from a national chain dentist office that begins with "A" to this one, and it's a world of difference. You are treated like a valued customer here, rather than just a number. I highly recommend Dunkling and Penney.

Always look forward to my appointments with Drs Dunkling and Penney. Everyone is very pleasant and thorough. The beautiful view of Mt Mansfield from the chair is unique and quite peaceful. Not my closest options but after moving 45 minutes away, I couldn't bring myself go anywhere else.

Very welcoming practice. All protocols in place for Covid . Dental hygienist excellent. Explains exactly what she is doing. Very clean throughout. Dr. PENNEY stopped to say HI and quick share. Next appointment easily scheduled and then Stefan at front desk let's me know insurance or payment. Recommend to any new families or if you are ready for a new practice close to home!

Great practice, highly competent, the dental techs do wonderful work, Drs Dunkling and Penney excellent. The bad news is it seems to us that they are expensive. I don't know whether Dr Penney is related to Jim Penney of J.C. Penney stores.

This practice is absolutely wonderful. They explain everything to you and why they are doing it. Very good hygienists, office staff, and it a is very good, friendly and professional practice. The dentists are so good, friendly and explain and answer all your questions. So important for the client. I highly recommend Dunkling and Penney Dentist office.

I've always had a great experience here and have never thought of going anywhere else. Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff always updating their techniques and equipment for the better. It always looks and feels as though they've thought of everything to make the whole experience as comfortable, safe, and enjoyable as possible. You can only go downhill from the top!
