Dr. Alina Cretu was born in Romania in 1973. She received her first dental degree from Faculty of Dental Medicine in Timisoara, Romania, in 2002. At that time she decided to follow her career dream in the United States of America and earned her second dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine, in 2007. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Local Dental Society.
Currently, Dr. Alina resides with her family in Myrtle Beach, and she practices high quality dentistry in Surfside Beach. Dr. Alinas dental practice, Dunes Dental Services, has been a recipient of the Best of the Beach Award annually since 2012.
Dr. Alina is one of only two KOIS Center Graduates on the Grand Strand. The mission of the KOIS Center is to enable motivated dentists to achieve extraordinary levels, expanding both knowledge and application skills in restorative dentistry which includes, but is not limited to, highly-specialized and exclusive clinical program teaching the latest in esthetics, implant, cosmetic, restorative dentistry. This ongoing commitment to the highest level of continuing education means that Dr. Alina can offer her patients the best treatments and technology that dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Alina believes in a proactive guided approach to dental wellness. Her objective is to help her patients reach their smile and health goals with a conservative treatment strategy, preserving natural teeth whenever possible. She favors a compassionate yet direct manner in communicating with her patients and helping them make decisions about their dental health.
Dr. Alina enjoys giving back to the local community that she now proudly calls home. In collaboration with churches, she provided free dental extractions monthly for an entire year to patients in need. Last year, she also undertook a mission to Kenya to provide dental services there. Recognized by the Talk of the Town Awards for her commitment to Surfside Beach and surrounding areas, Dr. Alina always appreciates an opportunity to be actively involved in the community.

Can't be more grateful to know Dr. Alina and her team at Dunes Dental Services! Courteous, professional and the most qualified Dentist I know with a determination to stay in top of the latest research. I have been having issues with my teeth since childhood, but once I found her, I no longer had to make numerous visits to the dentist. I couldn't be more happy and appreciative for the new smile she gave me. I know I can always count on Dr. Alina as she has always been very sensitive to my concerns and questions.

To me, the proof of a good service business is consistent growth. Growth in service and technology. I have been served by Dr. Alina for twelve years. Dunes Dental is a great dental office! From the receptionist to the hygenists, dental assistants and doctor, everyone is kind, professional and helpful! Dr. Alina is very friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent at her work! She and her staff provide exceptional care to their patients to ensure a great dental experience is had. At Dunes Dental, the staff will go above and beyond to meet your needs and make sure you are comfortable during your visit. I used to have quite a bit of dental anxiety, especially during longer than normal procedures and Dr. Alina makes my time spent in the chair completely worry free, and I feel at ease and am able to relax! Besides coming for cleanings, I have had old dental work repaired as well as new filings and crowns and they feel and look great! I don't think there is anything Dr. Alina can't do to help you feel confident when it comes to dental hygiene! Dr Alina, and her entire staff is a God Send. I no longer fear my dental appointments or cleanings. Finally, I understand Periodontal Cleanings, Gum Disease and Periodontal Maintenance, and the importance of healthy gums and teeth. I travel a lot, but takes notice of dental appointments, ensuring not to miss one. I am so grateful for Dunes Dental!

So happy I found this dental practice. I can't thank this team and dentist enough for their kindness and help for my teeth. I had a horrible experience with a previous practice and was scared to trust another place. Dr. Alina and her team are amazing! You feel welcome as soon as you open the door. Absolutely the best dental experience I have ever had. The entire staff is so incredibly warm, professional, and welcoming. I have never had such a thorough appointment. Dr Alina is kind and gentle. She takes her time and makes you completely at ease. She explains in detail every option in your dental well being. No one tried to upsell or rebook unnecessary procedures. She is very practical and exceptional. They offer plans for those without insurance which was great for me. They also are very in tune with the patient's needs. I can not recommend Dr. Alina and her staff more.

They, the staff is fantastic... Everyone is very concerned about your well being Dr Alina is very professional and cares deeply for her patients..I had a dental implant put in on Feb.16th.. She would not let me leave until it was 110% perfect, and it is!!! She said to me ( I'm going home very happy today)... Dr Alina, I'm a very lucky gal to have found the best!
