Dunedin Dental Associates was founded in 2019 after the previous dentist, Dr. Thomas Millman, retired from and wanted to pass his practice on to dentists he knew would continue his legacy of patient centered dental care.
Dunedin Dental Associates is the Dunedin office of Clearwater Dental Associates which has been a leader in the dental community since it was founded over 40 years ago. They have a tradition of providing personalized and exceptional dental care that is now extended into the Heart of Dunedin.
Dr. Spencer grew up in Clearwater, Florida and is a graduate of Dunedin High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida then went on to receive his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Florida. After graduation, he joined the US Army Dental Core and moved to El Paso, Texas. While in the service he managed the continuing education program for dentists on the base and was trained in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. After finishing his commitment with the Army, Dr. Spencer returned to school to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency with the University of Texas in San Antonio to provide Implants and IV Sedation.
Outside of the office Dr. Spencer teaches at the University of Floridas AEGD residency helping to prepare the next generation of dentists. Dr. Spencer enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with his wife Madison, daughter Claire and beagle Violet.
Dr. Spencer is passionate about guiding people through overcoming their fear of the dentist. He provides several different levels of sedation and helps patients to get the treatment they need without the stress. Dr. Spencer is accepting new patients at both the Clearwater and Dunedin locations.
I am a Clearwater native and a proud graduate of Clearwater High School. My family has lived in Clearwater since the early 1960s. When I a child I remember I remember being terrified of getting the shot! Much to my surprise I didnt feel anything! I am forever grateful to that dentist, Dr. David Bassett, for giving me such great care and introducing me to dentistry.
When I was in high school I attended a meeting for high school students who were interested in pursuing dentistry as a career; my positive experiences with dentistry made an impact on me and I knew that was what I wanted to do for a career.
I received a BS in Biology from Samford College in Birmingham Alabama and in 2003 and went on tograduatefrom the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry. After graduation I returned home to join the group at Clearwater and Dunedin Dental Associates.
In addition to learning from my colleagues I have made a strong commitment to dental continuing education. I feel an obligation to my patients to provide them with the best possible care I can. I consider my philosophy to be patient centered. For me that means helping patients receive the dental treatment they want and need. Whether patients are in pain, want to improve their oral health, or improve their appearance we attempt to really understand their situation and together we create a plan to accomplish their goal.
I am an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Florida Dental Association. I am proud to regularly volunteer my time at two local clinics, The Community Dental Clinic and Gulf Coast Dental Outreach. These clinics are for patients who are unable to afford dental care and they meet a great need in our community.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, playing golf and scuba diving. My wife, Sherrie Lynn and I were married in 2008. We welcomed our first daughter, Liliana in 2011 and our second daughter, Anabelle in 2013.
She is committed to providing the finest personalized oral health care. She fully understands that dental visits can be stressful and she will do all that she can to create a stress-free environment and a comfortable experience for her patients.
Danielle stays up to date through continuing education and is a member of two local study clubs. She has a thorough knowledge of dental health care and the correlation between periodontal disease and systemic health. 'The mouth can be the window to your overall health!'

Dr Spencer and his team are outstanding. I am a relatively new patient (last 6 mos), and feel like I have been coming here for years. Outstanding service from front of the office (I see you Kim and Linda) to the assistants Paula and Patti. Dr Spencer's is using some cutting edge tech and is willing to show how it improves his work. For me, I determine how good a dentist is by the first shot. Just a pinch.. and then nothing. Dr Spencer has the touch. Thanks for taking great care of me, made my day so much better.

Since moving to Clearwater I have been to four other dental offices. Dr. Burton stands head and shoulders above them all. Very pleased with the quality of his work. If you need a good dental professional look no further.

I just came back from my first experience at Dunedin Dental Associates. I am extremely impressed. This was an excellent experience from the beginning. Setting the appointment and doing the new patient pre-exam paperwork online was quick and actually made everything very easy. When I went in for the appointment I didn't have to wait long at all, and everyone from the ladies at the front desk, to the dental assistant, to the dentist (William Spencer D.M.D.) were very friendly and professional. I've never had a such a positive and welcoming experience with any business, much less a medical or dental appointment. I was seen almost immediately and actually enjoyed my appointment. When my appointment was over, I thought, "Now here comes the painful part." because I don't have dental insurance. Wrong. It was all very affordable. I was so impressed with this practice. I recommend Dunedin Dental Associates to anyone whether you have dental insurance or not. They are outstanding in every aspect.

Wow! What a great practice and office staff. Dr. Spencer is fantastic. I moved here from Boston and had to find all new Doctors and feel lucky to have found them. Danielle and Patti were fabulous as well as the 2 lovely ladies at the front desk. So knowledgeable, kind, professional and courteous. I highly recommend!!

Today was my first visit to Dunedin Dental Associates. Everything from setting my appointment with Kim, the pleasant waiting area when I arrived (did not wait long), to the Professional and thorough Dental Visit with Hygienist Danielle and Dr. Spencer was Top Notch. Linda closed out my visit ensuring that I get on a regular visit plan. Lastly - They had even worked with my insurance company in advance to ensure there was going to be appropriate coverage since I was out of network. All ~ Way Above and Beyond Throughout My Experience!

Our first experience was amazing! Starting from entering the front door to exciting. We were treated with nothing less than kindness. The entire staff was courteous, thorough, and professional and at the same time made us feel comfortable like we were just talking with our neighbors. Awesome!! Dr Spencer and staff are all awesome!! Danielle the hygienist is so genuine! All of them are so kind and really care about you. A very personal dentistry. I would highly recommend this office. It's been 9 months since my last review, and I love this dental office more than I did ifpossible. The whole awesome is awesome and a family which I am apart of and treated as such. I I saved the best dental office for last. Never going anywhere else. They are truly the best. Dr. Burton call ed me for a few evenings after my surgery.. They truly care!

I went online to find an emergency dentist near me. I found them and decided to call after seeing a lot of positive reviews. I have a phobia of dentist and the last one I had drilled a hole in my gums. I called and Linda was so helpful and got me in the same day. Danielle was the hygienist and was so kind knowing I had a fear after my last experience. Dr. Spencer came in chatted about my issue. Addressed my concerns and was so gentle. I had an extraction and felt no pain even during the numbing process. You can tell through his interaction with his patients that he has a great rapport with everyone. I don't enjoy going to dentists but I am really happy to find a team that is so helpful and very attentive to their patients needs and concerns. I'm glad to be a new patient!

After coming from the Twin Cities for the month of April, I was dealt with bad tooth and jaw pane allowing my wife and I to find the proper dental office in Dunedin? Boy did we make the correct choice! DDA took us as an emergency office visit the next day! Linda, a front desk team member was so caring and genuine and my wife worked with her on Insurance issues as well as other details I saw Dr. Spencer who was terrific and diagnosed abcessed impacted wisdom tooth. They all suggested see an oral surgeon ASAP.I did and went to another wonderful location-Mosaic and had the oral surgery! All went well, and who followed up with a phone call? Linda who really cared about us and how I was doing!! What a great call from someone We met once! Thank you Linda and all at DDA! We owe April and our vacation in major part to DDA! Thank you! Dr. Spencer is a very thorough and gentle dentist. My exam was the most complete dental exam I've ever had and he developed a treatment plan with a realistic timeline for completion (didn't pressure me to get work done immediately if it wasn't necessary). My friend referred me to him and I'm so glad she did! I had no reservations about switching from my old dentist that I liked to Dr. Spencer. All staff that I've been in contact with were extremely nice and attentive.

As a former patient of Dr. Millman, I was happy to return to a location that I have been going to for quite some time. The office staff is all fantastic, Linda in particular. They are all very helpful and personable. The dental hygienists and Dr. Spencer are also personable but informative and to the point. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dentist locally.

I am not a fan of going to the dentist at all, but Dr. Spencer and his entire office has made my experience the best I've ever had at a dentist. Dr. Spencer takes the time to explain and show you his recommendations for plan of care and answers your questions and concerns thoroughly. I've looked for a great dentist for a long time now and am happy to have finally found one!

Today was my first time visiting Dr. Spencer. His assistants and receptionist were super friendly. I have a few upcoming visits and I appreciated the time and attention provided in helping me to understand following treatment.
