Dr. DuHamel graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1973 with honors. Doctor practiced in Sunnyvale, California from 1973 until 1987 at which time he moved to Calaveras County and began practicing in the Mother Lode area. In 1994, he opened his own practice in the Valley Springs. In addition to his current general practice in Valley Springs, doctor has limited Dental Sleep Medicine practices in Lodi and Modesto, California. Dr. DuHamel has over 30 years experience in functional orthodontics, temporalmandibular joint therapies and 20 years experience in oral sleep appliances. Doctor uses Oral Myology in his practice to treat dysfunctional swallow patterns for his Orthodontic, Sleep Apnea and TMJ patients. Dr. DuHamel is a diplomat of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines. He is also a fellow of the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics. Dr. DuHamel interests include hunting, organic gardening and coaching youth softball/baseball. In 2003, Doctor was named Calaveras Enterprise Sportsman of the Year. Dr. DuHamel also enjoys following San Francisco Giants baseball. Dr. Peggy McInerney is our associate dentist at DuHamel Family Dentistry. She has been working with Dr. DuHamel since graduating from Tufts Dental School, Boston, MA. in 2010. Dr. McInerney was raised in Valley Springs and was also a patient of Dr. DuHamel. She graduated from Calaveras High School in 1999, along with her husband, Scott who works as a finish carpenter. Before dental school she attended UC Berkeley from 1999-2003 where she earned a degree in Toxicology. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Tufts Alumni Association. Dr. McInernery is especially dedicated to working with the youth in the county, focusing on Pediodontics (childrens dentistry), and also serves as the Youth Service Chair for the West Calaveras Rotary. In addition, she has been expanding her knowledge of Orthodontics and Sleep Dentistry. As a general dentist, she also has extensive training in comprehensive dental treatment. Dr. McInerney will be available to any groups or organization that would like a guest speaker for youth dental education. Dr McInerney enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott and son, Emmett, along with reading and swimming.
