Dr. DuHamel graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1973 with honors. Doctor practiced in Sunnyvale, California from 1973 until 1987 at which time he moved to Calaveras County and began practicing in the Mother Lode area. In 1994, he opened his own practice in the Valley Springs. In addition to his current general practice in Valley Springs, doctor has limited Dental Sleep Medicine practices in Lodi and Modesto, California. Dr. DuHamel has over 30 years experience in functional orthodontics, temporalmandibular joint therapies and 20 years experience in oral sleep appliances. Doctor uses Oral Myology in his practice to treat dysfunctional swallow patterns for his Orthodontic, Sleep Apnea and TMJ patients. Dr. DuHamel is a diplomat of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines. He is also a fellow of the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics. Dr. DuHamel interests include hunting, organic gardening and coaching youth softball/baseball. In 2003, Doctor was named Calaveras Enterprise Sportsman of the Year. Dr. DuHamel also enjoys following San Francisco Giants baseball. Dr. Peggy McInerney is our associate dentist at DuHamel Family Dentistry. She has been working with Dr. DuHamel since graduating from Tufts Dental School, Boston, MA. in 2010. Dr. McInerney was raised in Valley Springs and was also a patient of Dr. DuHamel. She graduated from Calaveras High School in 1999, along with her husband, Scott who works as a finish carpenter. Before dental school she attended UC Berkeley from 1999-2003 where she earned a degree in Toxicology. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Tufts Alumni Association. Dr. McInernery is especially dedicated to working with the youth in the county, focusing on Pediodontics (childrens dentistry), and also serves as the Youth Service Chair for the West Calaveras Rotary. In addition, she has been expanding her knowledge of Orthodontics and Sleep Dentistry. As a general dentist, she also has extensive training in comprehensive dental treatment. Dr. McInerney will be available to any groups or organization that would like a guest speaker for youth dental education. Dr McInerney enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott and son, Emmett, along with reading and swimming.

I've been going here for 15 years. My recent experiences around their stance on covid safety are alarming . Yesterday I left an appointment before even taking my mask off having being treated disrespectfully and given excuses regarding my concerns about covid safety in general and specifically about the assistant I would have been very close to, breathing on me, had I stayed for treatment for a toothache. She was wearing a mask below her nose and responded in a non-committal and put upon way about "trying" to keep the mask up to cover her nose during treatment . I did not expect such bullying from Dr Duhamel either once the assistant called him in because of my objections to his assistant wearing a mask below her nose. He backed her up, telling me " We were being interfered with, so our lawyers told us not to answer any questions". His attitude has set the tone for the entire office I realized. I had encountered this uncaring attitude when I called regarding making a cleaning appointment previously and asked first about continued covid protocol. I did not go for my cleaning after that but decided several weeks later after having had a recurring toothache that surely Dr. Duhamel would be concerned for his patients. But no, I left yesterday when Dr Duhamel showed me out the back door , after I stated clearly "it is unacceptable that your assistant not wear a mask over her whole face" . Who and what do they care about if not for their patients health and safety? Their rights? Were it not for people getting vaccinated and wearing masks things would be much worse than they are. Dr Duhamel, telling me you got regular covid antibody tests yourself did not help me be a patient in your chair while your assistant was not wearing a mask AS A MASK. I am disappointed but another patient of yours told me by way of explanation , that you are "conservative like I am", he told me. From that I understood more fully. I do not share the values expressed by you and your office staff, and do not trust you to keep me safe under your care so it is no longer a good fit for me.

Office staff was ready for me, welcomed me, made me comfortable and informed me of what they were doing at all times. The staff was personable, well-informed and prepared and performed their duties with professionalism and care. We've recommended this office to multiple friends and our rating reflects current performance as of October 2022.

I've been going to this office for over 20 years and am always happy with the services they provide. Dr. DuHamel is very friendly and thorough. Hygienist Bailey, is excellent, also very friendly and thorough.

I did not go for my tooth cleaning after that but decided several weeks later after having had a recurring toothache that surely Dr. Duhamel would be concerned for his patients. But no, I left yesterday when Dr Duhamel showed me out the back door , after I stated clearly "this is unacceptable." Who and what do they care about if not for their patients health and safety? Their rights? Were it not for people getting vaccinated and wearing masks things would be much worse than they are. I have been going to DuHamel Family Dentistry for 30+ yrs. They have the best staff and best doctors. It feels like family when you go in there. They are very caring. Highly recommend!!!!

called to initiate care. When I asked if they were masked and following mandatory COVID health and safety regulations, I was told that "some were; some weren't." When I asked if the unmasked workers were fully vaccinated (I never requested any personal information), I was told it was "protected by HIPAA." Of course, I then explained how HIPAA DOES NOT APPLY to customers trying to determine if a business is safe to visit and is following required safety mandates. I asked twice to speak to the office manager. Obviously they are not masked and not vaccinated and not forthcoming about it. The message I left for the office manager was never returned. The next place I called told me without hesitation OF COURSE they were all wearing masks, taking temperatures and protecting their patients.

I have not been to the dentist in a decade or more. I had a raving review from a friend who drove all the way from Sacramento just to go to this dentist. That sold me! The staff was excellent and so friendly. The technician and dentist were amazing. I highly recommend them.

I had a dental cleaning with Bailey today, she is amazing and so pretty. The front office staff was extremely professional and also pretty. Now those women who work in the sleep apnea department, they are pretty, and very helpful! I highly recommend Dr DuHamels office, you will get tender loving care, and everyone is "pretty"!

Today was my first time to the dentist in 9 years. I was nervous and a little afraid of my outcome and the judgement that may come with my 9 year absence. Let me tell you... I'm so glad I came here!!! Everyone was amazing! The minute I walked in the door I felt welcomed and my worry went away! The care and concern that I received was way beyond my expectations!! I am now a new forever patient!!!!
