Duane H. Beers is a family and cosmetic dentist serving in Socorro, NM. He has been in private practice since 1980. Dr. Beers offers smile makeovers and general dentistry using his extensive training and experience in cosmetic dentistry, functional orthodontics, laser dentistry and other disciplines to achieve results that are not only great looking but healthy and functional.
Dr. Beers graduated from University of California, Davis (UCDavis) in 1971 with a B.S. in biochemistry. He attended Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine diploma with honors in March 1975.
He took a position with the U.S. Public Health Service, Indian Health Service in Zuni, NM. While there he pursued extensive postdoctoral training in oral surgery, orthodontics, and pedodontics. Since then, Dr. Beers has continued his education in the disciplines of cosmetic and laser dentistry.
Dr. Beers is a Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry , an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Beers is a charter member of the American Association of Functional Orthodontics and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

In New Mexico, Dr. Beers works with the New Mexico Dental Foundation. The Donated Dental Services coordinates dentists and laboratories to assist those who cannot afford the dentistry they need. The New Mexico Dental Foundation also coordinates the Mission of Mercy Event. This event is held in different parts of the state of New Mexico and dentists from around the state are invited to donate their time and services to help anyone who asks regardless of their financial situation.
Around the world, there are people who have never seen a dentist much less have access to one. That is why Dr. Beers works with two Christian organizations that believe showing love to our neighbors involves using the gifts, training and knowledge weve been given to make a difference. He works with Global Health Outreach, part of the Christian Medical and Dental Association and HealthCare Ministries, part of the Assemblies of God church.
She has been working with Dr. Beers since 2007 and is considered by many to be one of the top hygienists in the state. She travels from Truth or Consequences to Socorro Monday through Thursday to work with Dr. Beers because of the quality of care she can bring her patients. Traci is trained and licensed to give local anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas), digital radiographs and photos, sealants, periodontal treatment including scaling and root planning (deep cleanings). She will work with Dr. Beers to give you a comprehensive evaluation that includes a review of your medical condition and an oral cancer screening.
Sheila Lewis, CDA Certified Dental Assistant Sheila has worked with Dr. Beers as a dental assistant since 1991. She took a break for several years to take care of her family and has returned to our team, bringing her expertise as well as her gentle and comforting nature to assist Dr. Beers in bringing you the very best dentistry has to offer.
Sheila enjoys spending time with her beautiful family and taking care of their numerous animals at the family farm. She loves to be outdoors and to draw. She is kind, caring, and full of spunk! We are very glad to have her back on our team.

Dr. Beers has named Paul his chief information officer, this is due to the fact that Paul can act as Google without the typing or Siri with a more snarky answer. Paul is the guy that helps you understand the investment you will make in keeping your teeth healthy. He also gives the insurance companies a hard time if they dont pay their fair share.
Paul also serves as pastor of First Baptist Church of Magdalena and records a podcast that mixes the two things you should never talk about in polite company, religion, and politics. He served 5 years in the US Air Force working on the avionics system of the F-16 just because he likes odd numbers.
